This is an awesome journey!
A couple months ago I totally quit freelancing with my articles, right about the same time my book published. During this transition I began to put out book review requests and began social networking with more and more authors, readers and book bloggers. Let me tell you...I feel like I'm finally somewhere where I belong.
Writing articles is fun and I love the research part of it too, but I never felt my heart in the voice of my articles. I just knew that that world wasn't for me and now...now I am afloat in a sea of literature. Doing this, writing every day for my own enjoyment and the enjoyment of others is definitely where I am meant to be.
I think the there are two great things that have happened to me in the way of social networking the last couple months. First, I was introduced to the indie author circuit. Now, I knew of the indie authors, I knew that they existed, but what I didn't know what what absolutely awesome stories awaited me. Some of these authors are simply amazing and the ability to self publish/independently publish their books have given them a chance that they might not have gotten by trying to traditionally publish. I'm building a to be read list that is a mile long...my E-reader is filling up fast.
The second great thing that has happened to me is meeting all the great book reviewers who love the written word and take time out of their busy lives to tell everyone about it through blogging. I love these people!
Book bloggers, you rock!
Anyway, I'm happy now. I spend my day playing with my kids, (well the diapers, bad behavior and messes don't count) I work on online stuff for my book, I write stories and everything around me is about what I love. This is simply amazing!
On that note, I do want to thank my husband who works so hard and has supported me in every way on my journey into being a fiction writer.
And here we are on our mini vacation in New Orleans before he deployed! It was so fun!
