Braids Shares Video From New EP 'Companion' Via Dazed

North-American And UK Tour Starts Today  WATCH & SHARE: Braids - "Joni"
 Last week, the Montreal trio Braids released an appendix to their lauded 2015 LP 'Deep In The Iris,' a 19 minute EP  'Companion.'

Today, they share a video directed by Maria Ines Manchego for the track "Joni" via Dazed. The visual piece explores the end of a relationship, with a couple striving to reclaim their individuality while remaining close together.

On 'Companion' Braids use the 'Deep In The Iris' palette to paint decidedly different vistas – joy, disaffection, thunderous explosion to delicate introspection, the minimalistic power of "Companion" to the patient blossoming of "Sweet World". The EP offers a brief snapshot of a constantly-evolving group, perpetually exploring the edges of their unique voice.

Distinct in their own right, these four tracks are not to be dismissed as b-sides, outtakes, or the lesser of a group of songs. Though it uses 'Deep In The Iris' as a compositional guidepost, 'Companion' is a breathtaking journey all of its own.
