Oh, thank God! I read 'Hard Bitten' today and honestly several bad words were uttered in disbelief near the conclusion. I am so very happy that the next book is out in November. You're the best :) Can't wait until 'Drink Deep'.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just finished it....i really trust you.....but are you serious?????? Better to sleep through it.......but, was it the best idea he came up with?????? Really i must re-read it, but hopefully in the second round shock will be replaced by awe , if he really did what i think he did.

Okay, I'm starting to get worried! I got my copy of "Hard Bitten" from Amazon yesterday and am planning on reading it next weekend. Should I wait until closer to November perhaps?!?!?!
I am still in shock but asking me to "trust you" does make me see a little bright light at the end of this long dark and emotional tunnel. I am still not finishing the entire book until November... I happened to stumble across the "completely uncalled for" scene by accident and turned off my Kindle right there... not reading it until I can surf on in to the next book in November.

I bought this yesterday but now I think I will hold off on reading it until the next one comes out. I would hate to end up chucking my Kindle across the room if it can be avoided. ;)
I have the same thought. I bought it yesterday also and I think I'll wait till November and read them back to back. I'm getting the feeling I'll drive myself crazy and kill my Kindle if I don't.
Finally got my copy!!!! I'm almost afraid to read it with all the coments about the ending. I'm tempted to wait until November to read it but I I'm not sure I'm that strong :s
OMG!!!! I am in shock! So not nice to do this to us!!!! November..... Ok I will trust you, but don't let us down!!!
I have a theory that Merit must be in some type of coma or under some spell because that can not happen!!!
OMG...I seriously just spent the past half hour crying my eyes out. I was getting ready to rage on here, but if you say to trust...then I will. It's going to be a loong 6 months. :(
ok im officially scared and mine wont b here for another 10 days or so, i dont know if i can read it :S

Sure! Do you remember the part in the book when Ethan an Merit were chatting over the Malcakes??in Cadogan garden? and she told him she was a fast learner and gave him all the reason she feared to be with him again??? all were Master Vampire releated. The only way for Ethan to stop dealing with strategy and the responsability he had toward Cadogan vampires was handing out the house, but that is only allowed - as far as I know- when a Master Vampire dies and the second takes the position. Well, there are two things that comes with "Ethan´s death", first he is no more Cadogan´s Master, now that´s Malik position to asume, and by dying proctecting her, he, in certain way has proven how deep he has it for her. She now knows he is worth it.Pd: There is a forum for Chicagoland Vampire fans, may be you are interested in some of the theories readers post there, http://forums.chloeneill.com/. I´m sure you will enjoy and get some relief in the ride. Beacause there are lotsss of people feeling the same way.... :)
Danitza, I really appreciate your comment above. It helps me see things in a different light... I have had some time to get over my initial shock and I feel pretty confident that Ethan's not gone. And CHLOE, I don't care how good looking Jonah is - he's not Ethan. He will never be good enough... don't go there sister :)I am holding out hope that the "Merit" she hears at the end of the book in her dream is Ethan trying to communicate with her . He's got to be somewhere in the story line, I refuse to believe that after 4 books of falling in love with him, he's gone. That would really ruin the ride for me. For now, my book club has put this on hold but come November, we might all pull it back out.
I will definitely read Drink Deep at this point and November is going to come really slowly... I am all for an earlier release.

I've never read so much controversy over a book. WOW - less than a week out and the discussion boards are still on fire over the Hard Bitten ending. Read far more negatives than positives over the shocking ending at this point. After a week of reflection I'm still just so unhappy over it all...I was so looking forward to this book only to be horribly saddened and disappointed by the ending. I'm counting on all to be well at some point in the series but not sure when that will happen or how. Will keep in mind Chloe's "trust me" however; I have mixed feelings on Deep Drink at this point.
