Sometimes in life we find ourselves in situations that over take our minds, as well as, our bodies. These situations, if not dealt with properly, usually have catastrophic consequences. For instance, I had a friend who suffered from alcoholism and he found himself isolated from the rest of the world, which, led to anger, depression, and overall bad health. It wasn't until he was able to admit that he had a problem and sought help that he was able to break free from the bonds of alcoholism. His biggest supporters were an AA group-- a support group.

We all know what a support group but I'll go ahead and explain just in case. It's a gathering of people who share the same emotional or physical problems usually with someone who has experience with the problem as a leader. It's a place you can go to share your concerns, receive information, get confirmation, or simply to know that you're not alone and you can get better.

There are support groups for just about anything you can think of-- alcoholism, drugs, sex, obesity, diseases, etc.  I searched online before writing this blog and searched for a different kind of support group that just wasn't there. What I did find was several groups that went by the name "People who hate negative people." Seriously? Must we be geniuses to know that hating anyone whether they be negative or otherwise is NEGATIVE, therefore, you are the type of people you're claiming to hate. I, for one, do not hate negative people. I am a negative person. Most of us are! We are just too blind to see it for what it is.

We set our sights on all of the negativity in the world and claim it as truth rather than a simple condition. Think about it. Everyday that I log on to facebook I have friends who complain about how horrible our government (USA) and how they just basically despise everything about it. Then take your butt over to one of third world countries and see how fast you start begging for someone to bring you back to this government that you despise. No it's not perfect! It never will be! But it is ten times better than any government system in the world. I really want to say, take your spoiled, whiney ass somewhere else if you don't like it but that wouldn't get my point across. If these people were forced to live in a third world country they would know just how good we have it but because we are so conditioned to negativity we can't see the good in anything.

I spoke about people with medical problems fighting for their diseases in an earlier blog. The same goes for these people. Science has proven with the placebo that in most cases the mind is largest factor in the healing arts. So if you're constantly focused on how bad it is you're going to perpetuate it. Your negativity will cause more of what ails you! If you say "I get sick every spring because of allergies," then every spring you WILL get sick. Then the person will say that's not negative, that's the truth. Truth or fiction if you get sick every spring because of allergies that IS NOT positive. Being sick is not positive! Claiming your sickness as inevitable IS NOT positive no matter how you look at it, no matter what doctor has diagnosed you…. Dis-ease IS NOT A POSITIVE THING!!!!!!

Does this not sound like denial to anyone other than myself? Everyone says constantly… "I'm not negative. It's the truth! I'm not negative. It's the truth."  Alcoholics say… "My drinking isn't out of control. I can stop anytime I want." Being negative isn't any less detrimental to your physical being than alcoholism. It's just that not everybody is an alcoholic so we can easily point fingers at them but since we are all so conditioned to negativity that we have to point our fingers at ourselves. But we don't like that, do we?

Sounds just like any other addiction to me. We're addicted to only seeing the dark side. Maybe the bright side hurts our eyes.

So, I'm wondering why there are no support groups for negative people who no longer wish to suffer in the shadows of a beautiful world?
