The Hidden Oracle!

HIDDEN ORACLE Final cover

Thanks to everyone who came to our launch event in Boston on Tuesday, May 3! We had a sold-out crowd and I loved hearing your questions and sharing your enthusiasm. And thanks to everyone on social media who has already responded to the new series with such love and appreciation. I’ve got the best readers in the world! It’s always a relief to me when I hear that I met your expectations in a new volume.

If you haven’t picked up your copy of The Hidden Oracle yet, it is now available anywhere books are sold in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. I’m not sure about the other markets. I don’t get that info. But if it’s not yet available where you live, I’m sure the publishers are working hard to get it into your hands as soon as possible!

And if you missed the usual “Coming in 2017” at the end of The Hidden Oracle, I did too! Here is the title of book two, which will be here next October:

Trials of Apollo BOOK 2 type cover 2P

Also the Rick Riordan website has just had a facelift. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Ok well I..."

Was the test about Dante or something like that?

Kang Ying She Actually we have sun save thing(I don't remember what it is called again) we turn one hour back. it is pretty confusing about the time.

message 1053: by Zara (new)

Zara Yeah I hate daylight savings! Also studying Harry Potter isn't as fun as it sounds we have to do this booklet which is way too much work. We have to answer 17 long answer questions about the movie which we then have to type up. Then we have to write 4 character profiles. Then we have to write a story map. Then there's this creative writing task, and after that a report card for one of the students. Then we have to draw a storyboard for one scene of the film. Then we have to write an essay on one of the provided questions. And as an extension task we can go on pottermore (already got two accounts). Oh, and did I mention this is all due on Monday?

Zara Wow, I was about to just relax and stuff, but looking at that worksheet... maybe I should start that.

message 1055: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She I have a day free because we are going to work for a day. We get 300 kr to Cuba or Colombia to help the tteenagers there so they can get education.

yeah it was like that

Kang Ying She The funny thing is that it began to snow yesterday, but I hate snow and it is so cold right now. Even Thought I was born in a winter month I hate snow.

message 1058: by Zara (new)

Zara Kang Ying wrote: "The funny thing is that it began to snow yesterday, but I hate snow and it is so cold right now. Even Thought I was born in a winter month I hate snow."

I hate hot weather and I was born in spring. I wish it would snow where I live, I love the cold and I've only seen snow once, never seen falling snow.

message 1059: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She We in Norway see this pretty often. And when it is autumn here it is spring there, while it's winter here you have summer in Australia. It Is because of Ecuador line.

message 1060: by Zara (new)

Zara Kang Ying wrote: "We in Norway see this pretty often. And when it is autumn here it is spring there, while it's winter here you have summer in Australia. It Is because of Ecuador line."

Do you mean the equator? And yeah, all opposite seasons. I kinda wish we didn't have northern hemisphere traditions like the things people do at Christmas because it is all winter centred things instead of summer.

message 1061: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Btw we have a long time with snow. Maybe 5 month or something

message 1062: by Zara (new)

Zara Kang Ying wrote: "Btw we have a long time with snow. Maybe 5 month or something"

Whoa! In my entire life I've always wanted to see falling snow I so wish I had snow where I live. Australia is too hot. In summer it reaches 40 degrees Celsius and I hate it! I love cold weather. I grew up in Sydney where winter never gets below 5 degrees. I'm just kinda saying the same thing over and over to make a point of how I hate Australia's climate.

message 1063: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She We get lower than -1 Celsius in winter. Sometimes even -20

message 1064: by Zara (new)

Zara Kang Ying wrote: "We get lower than -1 Celsius in winter. Sometimes even -20"

-20?! Whoa! I have never experienced anything under -2.5!

message 1065: by Zara (new)

Zara And that was only twice: first on mt Buller, and then at like 7am and it didn't stay -2.5 for long at all.

message 1066: by Zara (new)

Zara Although I really hate it when it gets to 40 in the summer holidays.

message 1067: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She The highest temperature is 20+
The coldest month is January when I actually have birthday

message 1068: by Zara (new)

Zara Wow it is nearly 20 at night in spring in Sydney

message 1069: by Zara (new)

Zara Actually it is 21 right now at 8:47

message 1070: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She I wish it was that warm here. I hate the cold weather.

message 1071: by Zara (new)

Zara Maybe we should swap countries! :)

message 1072: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Yeah, that would be a good idea!

message 1073: by Zara (new)

Zara I hate this time of year so much. It is sooo busy. First my birthday, then Halloween, my mum's birthday, Supanova Adelaide, exams, start of 6 week holidays, Christmas, New Year, my brother's birthday, a cruise, Australia Day, school starts again, then my dad's birthday, then a few of my friends birthdays are all around the same time, then Easter, Supanova Melbourne, and then Trials of Apollo 2, and then, finally, Winter. Winter is the most boring season. It's such nice weather, but so uneventful. And I can't take advantage of that uneventfulness because I'm busy doing homework. Then it becomes spring, and it starts over.

message 1074: by Zara (new)

Zara Oh, plus, I forgot that nearly every tv show I watch and book I read are released during this time of year. From Spring to Autumn.

message 1075: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Since this year I have been pretty busy too. I am going to be a high school student next autumn. First of all we have to write text and deliver them on itslearning then many tests ifs waiting for me first of all is history test then high school math. i also would get term test in all the subject in Norwegian, English and math. Next summer is the worst because we have to choose which high school we are going to go that autumn then exam. OMG this year is killing me!!

message 1076: by Zara (new)

Zara Confused. So, your Autum is our Spring, then are you talking about next Autumn/Spring? And when does your school year start? I know in America school starts after Summer or something and that their summer is in the middle of the year, is it like that there? I dunno it always seemed weird to me that they start school in Autumn. We start school towards the end of January, mid-summer. It ends a few days, maybe a week before Christmas.

message 1077: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She It is actually same as America next year we start at late summer.

message 1078: by N.E.S (new)

N.E.S Hey guys! I had to volunteer at this event called Market Fair in Dover. It is all about 18 century stuff and I dressed up in colonial clothes....it was great, wish you were all there =(

That sounds so cool!

Yeah it sounds interesting

Kang Ying She Nadia wrote: "Hey guys! I had to volunteer at this event called Market Fair in Dover. It is all about 18 century stuff and I dressed up in colonial clothes....it was great, wish you were all there =("

I always wanted to dress up from ancient time.

message 1082: by Zara (new)

Zara Kang Ying wrote: "Nadia wrote: "Hey guys! I had to volunteer at this event called Market Fair in Dover. It is all about 18 century stuff and I dressed up in colonial clothes....it was great, wish you were all there ..."

Yeah, I sometimes say I like old things, but then I realise that that's because the period of time that covers "old" is way longer than the period of time that covers "new". I especially love things from the 60s.

message 1083: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She I love costumes from ancient Greek and Rome but also 60s

message 1084: by Zara (last edited Nov 06, 2016 01:10AM) (new)

Zara Kang Ying wrote: "I love costumes from ancient Greek and Rome but also 60s"

Those are cool too. I like a lot of things, don't know what time periods they are from.

message 1085: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She I think from antiquity I only know the Norwegian word so i translated it.

message 1086: by N.E.S (new)

N.E.S Kang Ying wrote: "Nadia wrote: "Hey guys! I had to volunteer at this event called Market Fair in Dover. It is all about 18 century stuff and I dressed up in colonial clothes....it was great, wish you were all there ..."

The only thing that really sucks when your putting on colonial clothes is that you have to put like 5 layers on because thats how it was back then. And you always needed to cover your hair cause you only took a bath once a month. they had horrible hygeine back then

message 1087: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She I remember that in my history classes. They didn't wash their self so often they only use perfume.

message 1088: by N.E.S (new)

N.E.S Kang Ying wrote: "I remember that in my history classes. They didn't wash their self so often they only use perfume."

Yeah and when it does come time to take a bath, they use the same bah water. Oldest go first and then all the way to the youngest so they get the dirtiest water.

message 1089: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She It is pretty dirty. I prefer clean water not like that time.

message 1090: by Zara (new)

Zara What do you say, dent or dint? As in "There is a dent/dint in the car" I am trying to prove my friends wrong.

message 1091: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Actually I'm not sure about this one.

message 1092: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Btw What does that mean. I Could ask my teacher and my guy friend about that tomorrow.

message 1093: by Zara (new)

Zara It's just kind of a dialect thing like either or tomato. I just personally think dint sounds strange so I am asking everyone hoping they will say dent. I can't believe only one person who isn't in my family has answered dent!

message 1094: by Zara (new)

Zara Although what really bugs me is h. There is no h sound at the start of the letter. Technically it is correct to say aytch not haytch.

message 1095: by Evelin (last edited Nov 08, 2016 02:33PM) (new)

Evelin I did not known that.
Hi guys I'm back been really busy with school.

message 1096: by Evelin (new)

Evelin Have all of you read The Hidden Oracle?

message 1097: by Zara (new)

Zara I have read it.

Chasing Whispers I read it and I think its dent and what are you talking about and is it ok for me to hop in or am I interrupting something?

message 1100: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She I also have read the hidden Oracle. Well I think it is cool to have someone else joining in.
