The Hidden Oracle!

HIDDEN ORACLE Final cover

Thanks to everyone who came to our launch event in Boston on Tuesday, May 3! We had a sold-out crowd and I loved hearing your questions and sharing your enthusiasm. And thanks to everyone on social media who has already responded to the new series with such love and appreciation. I’ve got the best readers in the world! It’s always a relief to me when I hear that I met your expectations in a new volume.

If you haven’t picked up your copy of The Hidden Oracle yet, it is now available anywhere books are sold in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. I’m not sure about the other markets. I don’t get that info. But if it’s not yet available where you live, I’m sure the publishers are working hard to get it into your hands as soon as possible!

And if you missed the usual “Coming in 2017” at the end of The Hidden Oracle, I did too! Here is the title of book two, which will be here next October:

Trials of Apollo BOOK 2 type cover 2P

Also the Rick Riordan website has just had a facelift. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Val Hdz What I didn't like about the movie is that it included the three books

Hey don't you do those types of things in college? Like study in a different country?

Good to see ya Midhat! Long time no see!

Zara The clocks go forward an hour so that it is sunnier later in the day

message 808: by Val (new)

Val Hdz Oh yes. I think mine is in November also

message 809: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She We also have that. And no I haven't read the series yet. And btw I am not in collage I'm only 15 almost 16 on January. I'm so excited to The hammer of Thor. Only 3 days left.

Oh yeah, we do that in college and university.

And good to see you too, Nadia!

Same here, and then it ends in, like, March.

15! Maybe it's because in Europe, the countries are really small, so it's easy to go around. My Dad went to London a couple years back and went on a EuroTrain. He said that in 7 hours, he'd been through almost 4 countries, and since Cananda is HUGE, 7 hours means going from Toronto to Montreal.

Yeah well Australia is an island. And really big. It takes about 9-11 hours to drive from Sydney to Melbourne, depending on how many stops you take. And it costs thousands just for the flights to Europe.

message 815: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She We actually took bus then a boat to Germany. We start the daylight savings at the end of October till March/April i think

message 816: by Zara (new)

Zara Wait do you have it during Winter? We have it during spring and summer here.

message 817: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Yep, we turn the time one hour back.

message 818: by Zara (new)

Zara Back as in an hour earlier?

message 819: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Yep.

message 820: by Zara (new)

Zara This morning at 2am it changed to 3am

message 821: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Well if we have daylight savings now it is 12:02, because it is 13:02 now

message 822: by Zara (new)

Zara Well here it is the opposite so that it is later in the day than it would normally be. So it's still light later even though it is naturally like that in summer

message 823: by Zara (new)

Zara Also it's 10:04pm here so I should go to bed and read the third miss peregrine book now cya

message 824: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She good night then cya.

That's a nice quote. That will be one if the upcoming ones on my quotes dry-erase board. Right now it's "You've gotta kiss a lot of frogs before you meet your handsome prince."

message 827: by Val (new)

Val Hdz yeah, i like that one too

message 828: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Me too, actually one of my friend said that we have a part princess in us. But I don't believe that. Many of us feel in love with book characters instead of real boys. I'm one of them, because they are much better than boys in my class.

Emily KittenHestia wrote: "Oh and who here has read miss peregrine's home for peculiar children and seen the movie?"

That series is on my to-read list and I do try to get around to it, but there are always other things to read and things to do.
I do want to go to the movie though.

Well the book series is great I am reading the third one now but the movie... only the start is like the books. And I'm really annoyed that they swapped Emma and Olive's powers in the movie. Emma was way better in the books.

message 832: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Have to finish most of my books before that series. I actually have 7 books to finish :P

I know, right!!! Sometimes I look around at all the boys in my class and think "when Percy was your age, he held up the sky and defeated the titan Atlas. Why can't you idiots be more like Percy?"

message 834: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She I thought it now since I am almost 16. Because that's when Percy got the big prophecy. I always wonder if someone would be that heroic like him.

message 835: by Midhat (new)

Midhat Kang Ying wrote: "I thought it now since I am almost 16. Because that's when Percy got the big prophecy. I always wonder if someone would be that heroic like him."

Yeah, but I don't think so. Real boys just aren't as good as fictional characters.

message 836: by Val (new)

Val Hdz That's true I wish there could be a boy in real life like a fictional

True!!! But the ones I've got aren't too too bad. My school holds them to the old code of chivalry and it's like it's straight out of a fairy tale. It's sorta weird but sorta cute when they let us girls ahead of them on line, or hold the doors open for us, or ask us politely to dance with them. :)

Wow. That is the exact opposite of my school. Like the exact. Opposite.

My friend wants to know what country you are from where any boys acts like that

message 842: by Val (new)

Val Hdz There are no bous like in Books

message 843: by Kang Ying (new)

Kang Ying She Well not here in Norway. Actually I have to wait reading the hammer of Thor. I should finish my books quick as possible.

You mean all of us? well anyway i'll answer the question any way

I'm from the U.S.A on the east coast.
Totally agree with Val....I rather date Severus Snape (if he was my age!) then go out with any boy.
Some boys are not all bad. They can be a best friend. But sometimes their SO imature it like not even funny. Or their are types that break your hearts. Boys can be one person then another in a quick second. Its like trying a new food you know? It may be the best meal you ever had or the worst.

Lol, Toronto, Ontario in Canada. I know a few boys who are actually nice, like two of my friends are boys and they're really friendly (one of them sorta reminds me of Frank and the other reminds me of Jason :)), and then there's my crush-who-also-has-a-crush-on-me-but-won't-admit-it who's a pretty decent guy. But tbh, Canadian public school 8th graders are absolute idiots. No matter how nice they are, they will never be as good as our fictional boys.

Dang Nadia, ya nailed that boyo-pep talk. But it is true, boys can make you feel really comfortable with them, and the next second BAM!! It's like they've hated you all their life. I know a boy who was super nice to me in grade 5 and 6, and we were really good friends because we both liked to talk about hockey and liked the same music and stuff, and then in grade 7, he became really mean to me for no reason, and now he doesn't even talk to me and avoids eye contact with me when we see each other in the halls, so I basically just stick a finger at his back and walk away.
