I Vant To Suck Your…
Feel free to insert body part, they're all tasty.
Since today is the release day of my second published book, Deadly Captive, I decided to share my thoughts on vampires. I've always found them fascinating, drank in every piece of fiction, written or on screen, that featured their pale faces, their long, hard . . . fangs.
Some say the market is flooded with vampire stories, there's nothing new, people are tired of these mysterious, sensual creatures. To this I say 'Ha! Little do you know! My stories will melt your jaded hearts and have you begging for more . . .
And then I wake up.
In all seriousness, I don't think the world will ever be done with vampires. Why? Well, like most people, I've read a lot of articles by experts (head shrinks) claiming to have the answer. Fans and authors of the various genres that host vampires often weigh in with their theories.
Well, I'm gonna toss another one on the pile.
In part, I believe the obsession with vampires has to do with an oral fixation. I'm willing to bet a whole bunch of people reading this post have at some point today—or are at this very moment—put something in their mouth that really didn't belong there. In a subconscious effort to sooth yourself, you'll slip the back of a pen past your lips, bite your nails, chew on the end of a strand of hair, maybe play with the pull tab on your zipper with the tip of your tongue.
I'm sure there's a very Freudian explanation for the urge, but the point is, for many people, it's there.
Now for the fun part. Picture part of your body in someone else's mouth. Naturally, this someone has to be hot—the fantasy wouldn't be any fun otherwise. So picture him, or her, taking your hand and bringing it to their mouth. You can smell the rich, earthy scent, rising from them, feel the chill of their ancient bodies soaking into yours. You haven't felt young in years, but compared to this creature, you are a child. Every cell in your body screams danger, run!
Soft lips close around the tip of your finger, a tongue flicks out and you can feel it, lower. Every muscle in your body tenses as they release your hand and move closer. Your breathing hard, your pulse is pounding in your ears. Then their mouth is on your throat, over a vein instinct tells you to protect. But you don't. You let them pierce it and put your life in their hands.
Personally, I'm thinking you figure if they get a taste there, they might stick around for a second helping . . . somewhere a little juicier.
