You know how people spend a long time growing a baby and when it comes out it’s real wrinkly and slimy but everyone says how cute and nice it is, and then, sure enough, the parents are allowed to go off and work on it and feed it and take care of it until it actually looks like a cute and nice little human? I think writers and their first drafts are kind of like that and we should all tell each other how cute and nice our first drafts are cuz they’ll get less slimy.
