Following the acclaimed debut album, ‘Everything’s F*cked’, explosive art-rock collective Arrows Of Love return with their brand new single, ‘Toad’, out on May 27th via the bands own Handspun Records and on limited edition vinyl and tape via Strong Island Recordings.
A precursor to their anticipated second album, ‘PRODUCT’‘Toad’ is a biting anthem of pure grit and emotion reminiscent of the likes of Fugazi and The Jesus Lizard, with stoner riffs and a recording that stands up to the bands energetic live reputation. The track was produced by Mikko Gordon (Thom Yorke, Gaz Combes), in the studio he built himself at Goldsmiths University, and mastered by Bob Weston of Shellac.
The 5-piece led by co-writers Nima and Nuha recently found themselves backed by the UK's highly competitive PRS Momentum Music Fund. After accepting an invite from CMJ Music Marathon the band confirmed a string of US dates, followed by a headline London show with Parallel Lines before the recording of their follow-up could finally begin.
Arrows Of Love are, above all, a live phenomenon. Originally aligned with the early East London wave of bohemian rock bands, it was their fiercely independent and creative drive that has taken them across the globe, to the likes of SXSWand End of the Road, to sharing stages with the likes of Buzzcocks, British Sea Power, 80’s Matchbox B-Line Disaster, The King Blues and many more. It’s on stage where London's own Arrows truly hit home.
Now, gearing up for the release of ‘PRODUCT’, the band are set to prove themselves the real deal. Drawing comparisons to the discordant, emotive musicianship of Sonic Youth to the raw power of McClusky, this second LP sees a band fully diversified, ready to release something truly unique.
