Great article Rupert. It would be great to have referendums on issues like that, and you've picked 5 that really should be had.

Cheers, Harry! There are many more premises, but these were the most immediate ones that came to mind.
I often think, as I'm sure we all do, that the most important debates are never had and that referendums should be held for all manner of things. And the EU referendum? Nobody seems to really give a crap, and they've managed to confuse the issues so much now that no one knows what they're voting for. I got a leaflet through yesterday explaining why we should stay in - loved how it was labelled 'from the government' (as opposed to being from the Tories)!
Great to see Dreyfus spreading like a virus - one with beneficial symptoms :) Makes complete sense to compartmentalise the different aspects of your writing and opinion, easier for those who want to follow different strands of the Dreyfus universe. Which is great - though it's all good from my perspective. Harry is right about our upcoming supposed to give a shitness regarding the EU referendum. I'm one of the the ones who wants to be engaged with it, but feel I know less now after hearing point and counterpoint than I did before trying to take an active interest - and I knew virtually nothing previously so where does that leave me? I'm in two minds whether to vote or not as I think I'll essentially be left with going with my gut, when I'd much rather make a decision based on insight and substantive argument. Idealistic I know :PLooking forward to your future contributions. I've signed up to the newsletter so I don't miss any, but I have a feeling you'll let us know when an article is imminent.
Cheers, Becs! And thanks for the support.I'll probably post future articles as status updates here rather than blogs. I'll keep GR more in line with my fictional writing endeavours.
