One Last Song by
Kristi CramerMy rating:
4 of 5 starsIn a modern American cowboy country and western story, Kylie is the local girl who wants to make it big as a singer - and sexy hero Jax is so crazy about Kylie that he wants whatever makes her happy. So when Kylie is offered a deal that promises to put her on the path to stardom, they both jump at the offer. However, the deal proves to be a ruse and the two find themselves kidnapped and at the mercy of a mad woman.
This is a thriller written quite prosaically, so think Grisham and Turow rather than a passionate dark romance with lots of emo. I can see it as a screenplay as it has a decent plot and likeable characters, but I would have liked a bit more edge.
