Filmed and directed by Matt Goff while The Amazons were on tour last month, the video captures the band as they embrace the chaos of life on the road and entertain themselves in vans and motel rooms up and down the country.
Reading-based The Amazons have emerged over the past year as a young band to watch, garnering new fans and word-of-mouth praise through their dynamic performances and melodic rock anthems. Latest single Stay With Mehas set them apart as one of year’s most energetic and explosive new sounds, with the track receiving a Radio 1 debut, championed by Annie Mac, Huw Stephens, Phil Taggart, John Kennedy, Maz and Tom Robinson.
Stay With Me is produced by Tom Dalgety (Royal Blood, The Maccabees) and is the first single to be released via the band’s new home Fiction Records. Since their arrival to a growing fan base with first demo ‘Something in the Water’ in early 2015, The Amazons have quickly generated an enthusiastic following. Their first single ‘Junk Food Forever’ received immediate support from radio presenters Annie Mac, Huw Stephens, and Jo Goods’ Shock of the New, as well as a featured slot on XFM’s ‘Songs of The Week’. The band closed out a busy year with the release of debut EP ‘Don’t You Wanna?’, mixed by Catherine Marks (Wolf Alice, Foals, White Lies), on their own label Goth Cruise Records. Lead single ‘Ultraviolet’, was championed at Radio 1 with numerous spots by Huw Stephens and Annie Mac, and continued to receive support from Zane Lowe on his Beats 1 show, as well as plays on Radio X.
Recently tipped as one of Radio X’s top 20 acts to watch in 2016, The Amazonsare gearing up for another busy year.
