New 'Unofficial' Max Quick Trailer
In the spirit of the original podcast mp3 audiobook version of THE POCKET AND THE PENDANT, I put together a book trailer for the upcoming release of the rebooted version of the book on May 1, 2011. This is unofficial, meaning it is just something I made myself and does not come from HarperCollins.
Many book trailers I've seen try to ape movie trailers. While I like that idea, the visuals usually are the downfall of such efforts -- they don't look like actual movies, they look cheap. So I stayed away from that: my visuals are very minimalist :) However, I did feel you could at least approximate the feel of a movie trailer with SOUND, so I focused my effort there.
That having been said, this is something of a draft: I'd like to see it cut better (the idea is as a word is spoken, the first letter of that word appears to spell ... something :) In this version I almost get that right but not quite.) Also, I do all the voices (as I did in the podcast audiobook); ideally I would have actual voice actors of the correct age read the bits for the characters.
So with all that in mind, I give you the trailer -- let me know what you think in the comments!
