New Book Released! "The Name and The Shadow: An Armand Ptolemy Novel"

Hi all!

I have a NEW BOOK out now.

It's called THE NAME AND THE SHADOW: AN ARMAND PTOLEMY NOVEL -- and it's a scifi thriller.

The Name and the Shadow An Armand Ptolemy Novel by Mark Jeffrey

The sales and reviews so far have been amazing -- I've never had such a strong early response! Here's the first editorial review below -- and here's a sneak peek at 1 min Book Trailer: https://youtu.be/PgupyH3tUOA

"The Name and The Shadow, by Mark Jeffrey is a thrilling and thought-provoking novel, an up to the minute zeitgeist-blend of science fiction, mystery, and adventure, with a compelling slice of ancient history and mythology thrown in. This is likely to become a cult classic. Read it early to say you were among the first to do so.

The story moves at a breakneck speed with an excellent balance of action and exposition, taking us from the United States, to Dubai, Cairo. Burning Man, The Valley of the Queens and beyond.

What really intrigued me and drew me in was the detailed speculation and ground breaking ideas presented in the book. From ancient Egyptian codices to AI djinns and artificial intelligence, the author weaves a truly fascinating web of concepts guaranteed to leave readers thinking long after they finish the book, as they did for me. The way in which the author blends the latest hard science with mythology is unique and impressive, creating a world that feels both strangely familiar and entirely new.

"The Name and The Shadow" provides true entertainment value. The story is gripping and exciting, especially towards the end, with plenty of twists and turns to keep readers guessing. You will find yourself rooting for the characters too.

Overall, "The Name and The Shadow," is a must-read for fans of science fiction, mystery, and adventure. My only criticism is that I can't wait for another installment! The book is a masterclass and among my highlights of the year so far for its compelling and dramatic storytelling.

Highly recommended for both entertainment and ideas." -- The International Review of Books.

I just completed a NEW NOVEL

Hey everyone -- I am back as an author after a decade or so hiatus -- I just completed a completely new novel. It's a Magical Realism Thriller -- so it's not another Max Quick book -- and it's not YA, it's general fiction.

I think this novel is the best thing I've done to date. As such, I am exploring whether I want to go tradpub or indy with this one.

However -- at some point, I will be looking for 'beta readers' who might be interested in a pre-release copy -- who would be willing to give an Amazon review around launch-time.

I am starting that list right now -- so, if you liked my past stuff and you're interested, please let me know!

Loved this book! Just when I thought I had things figured out, the story would shift. There were moments in the book that I gasped at what I read. It was just that good! Mark Jeffrey did such a great job in his description of the characters and settings. I am looking forward to the next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars worth the price! March 23, 2014
By Stewart Boyles
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
All of Mark's books are quick, easy to read, easy to grasp what is going on, but VERY layered. It takes more than one read to fully understand what is going on in Prisoner of Glass. This fact alone is why I will always buy anything he's written. Plus the cost is fantastic. The amount of story for the $.99 price tag is astounding. The characters are defined enough to get the point across but not overly labored so as to detract from the plot. The plot asks MANY questions and answers not as many. But that's the point of good literature right? I'd like to see what else Mark has in store for Doctor Lune and the other cast of characters who inhabit the world of Prisoner Of Glass!

Loved the powerful woman character and looking forward to learning more about her. Jeffrey does such a good job of describing her surroundings that I was uncomfortable being in the glass prison. Fast read.

PRISONER OF GLASS

Prisoner of Glass by Mark Jeffrey It starts with a kiss from the Dolphin Queen ...

When the freakishly tall -- yet elegant -- Doctor Elspeth Lune is abducted from the airport, she awakens in the mysterious Glass Prison.

Location: Unknown. Reason: Unknown.

Odd things happen in this dark, circular facility - her severed pinkie grows back overnight and chess games end exactly the same way each time. To top it all off, Elspeth mysteriously finds herself assigned to cell block 1515: the exact same number as her ATM PIN and cell phone unlock code ...

But when she encounters the Order of the Black Dove and the Vizier, an inmate with an inordinate amount of power, she finds that she must crack the mystery of the Prison with even more urgency. Who built this — the NSA? Al-Qaeda? The New World Order? And why is she – and everyone else - here?

In the prison's central axis is the Panopticon, from within which the guards see all — and is undoubtedly where the answers lie ...

Max Quick: The Web Series + Max Quick: The Two Travelers back in paperback ...

Some very very exciting news:

First: MAX QUICK: THE WEB SERIES has begun filming!  This is a production by Hudson Klass (unrelated to the major studio Max Quick movie effort that is also continuing along).  Here are some stills below and for more info, go to http://facebook.com/maxquickthewebseires.com

NOW of course I'm quite delighted by this!  I'm told I can have a cameo down the road here, so we'll see .... :)

Next up: I've released a new book!  Not a MAX QUICK, but one called AGE OF AETHER, which is a steampunk adventure-romance with some time travel thrown in there.   You can get it on Amazon Kindle now for $2.99!

Here's the cover:

Description:  Age of Aether -- A Steampunk Adventure-Romance Novella.

When Captain Benjamin Bantam is tapped to go back in time in order to retrieve a cure for the vicious Shadow plague, he is shocked to arrive in an alternate 1944 where electricity doesn't exist. Instead, a parallel past has mysteriously arisen -- complete with parasols, stunningly luxurious Aerotels, hydrologic computing, Helux-powered 'cloud growlers' and a space elevator-based moon race with Germany. And of course, there is the lovely Dr. Rachelle Archenstone ...

But when Hitler is made Chancellor in this world and the American space program sabotaged, Bantam is the only one who realizes the true depth of the danger posed by the newly-formed Nazi party. Together with Rachelle, he races to save this America while seeking an explanation to the mystery of this alternate past -- and with it, a way to return to his own world with the Shadow's cure. But when it comes down to a choice between his lovely Rachelle and a thousand years of Nazi rule, what will he do?

Thrill to a tale of a Yesterday that never was ... And yet was!

And lastly ... I AM WORKING ON MAX QUICK 3 AGAIN!!!  :) My goal is to (finally!) finish and release it by the end of the year (2012).  In the meantime, Max Quick 2: The Two Travelers will be (at last!) re-released in paperback and in ebook format (around September or so).  I have some slight editing to do to make it square with the Harper Collins version of Max Quick 1, but it will soon be back on the market!  Here is the new cover:

More news soon!!!!
