Abercrombie Zombie (and other juicy tidbits)

Today is the start of the first anniversary celebration for Michele 'n' Jeff Reviews, a truly fine site devoted to GLBT fiction (gay romance in particular). Hop on over and give them your good wishes.  I believe they have author visits and book giveaways planned for the rest of the week.

Abercrombie Zombie, a more lighthearted tale than others I've written lately, will be published by Dreamspinner later this summer.  I'll post a blurb soon.  Edits for Visible Friend, releasing next month, are well on their way to completion.

I finally finished the m-m romance I was kvetching about in an earlier post.  There's so much I could say about it, but little I can say without giving away the title.  In general, the novel could've benefited from some rigorous editing.  Far, far too much text space is devoted to sex. I'd read 50-60% of the story before anything of even minimal significance happened. And still the sex continued, albeit more sporadically, up until the very end.  Because of this, character motivation seriously suffered.  I still don't fully understand what drew the men together emotionally, what split them up (that part, and a very important one, was really given short shrift), and what led to their reunion.  A good deal of the sexual hyperactivity could surely have been sacrificed for the sake of some psycho-emotional exploration.  It's a shame, because the book has its good points.

I'm mired in indecision about what to tackle next.  A sequel to Mongrel? A Jackson and Adin story? A meaty contemporary? I'm really torn right now, which means I'll need some quiet time just to let ideas percolate.  They'd better percolate fast, though. Spring is coming, and spring is going to be a major distraction after this hellish winter!
