Flying High On Little Wings
Last night, my family and I found ourselves experiencing something a little bit different. We were invited guests of the Mayor of Bankstown at the Bankstown Mayoral Charity dinner. The charity of choice, was a not for profit organisation very close to our hearts, Little Wings. We found ourselves enjoying good food and some interesting entertainment. A duo of flaming violin players who would be well placed in a circus act, a speed painter of indisiputable skill, several young Bankstown

Over The Edge by Mari Brown
Over The Edge (The Knight Series Book 2)
Katarina “Kat” Roberts left years ago for college. Leaving behind the man she loved trying to make a future for herself. She has avoided Belmont for five long years because of Cole Knight. When her brother is shot protecting Cole she is forced to return and face him.Cole Knight, powerful leader to a crime family hasn't seen Kat since she walked out on him. Now they have to put their past aside when an old enemy comes back determined to take out Kat, Cole and anyone connected to them.Kat and Cole have to learn to work together and not tear each other apart as they battle a common foe. Will it bring them closer together? Will they get a second chance at love or will the past be too much for them to overcome? My Thoughts5 stars!I came across this series winning the first book in a give away on Facebook. I couldn't put the first book down and immediately bought this book to continue the buzz.Well I was not disappointed. The story continued just as beautifully written and didn't fail to impress. The characters developed and aged perfectly in line with the time frame of the plot line. There are new characters introduced, and they are just as drool worthy as the older characters. All these hot, domineering men leave a red-bloodied woman all gooey on the inside and totally hot to trot. The steamy scenes explore the darker side of sex, touching the surface of BDSM, but Kat lovingly shows Cole it's hard to be a true master when your partner is just as hard headed and dominant as you are.As with book 1, I also struggled to put this book down, and read basically in one hit, with a short break at the halfway mark. (Mari! These 3am finishes are gonna kill me! :) )My only complaint is that I now have to wait for the next book in the series! My suggestion? Go andBUY ITnow!About the Author
Mari has been writing as far back as she can remember. She spent most of her teen years writing short stories for her friends, it was a hobby for her even though she was published in the school newspaper. She met and married her very own Alpha male 20 years ago and they have a 19 year old daughter, and two sons ages 16 and 15. They have 4 dogs and 2 cats. There is never a dull moment around the house. They live on the beautiful Gulf Coast of Alabama and are blessed to have a home on the river and to have the beach just 20 minutes away. Over the years she wrote a few short stories in between raising babies but it wasn’t until 2012 she decided she needed to pursue her dream of writing a full novel. It took a while but in January of 2014 her debut novel was self- published. There is always a story in her head and characters talking to her. She enjoys being able to share her characters with others.Connect with Mari today.Website TwitterFacebookAmazon

On The Edge by Mari Brown
On The Edge (The Knight Series Book 1)
Leaving an abusive life behind is not a crime.Katarina Roberts’ only goal is to get the hell out of Belmont, and the further away, the better. After living with an abusive mother most of her life, her brother Drew, part of the town's notorious Knight Crime family, is doing everything he can to help her attend school at UCLA.Cole Knight is being groomed to take over the Knight family business. A lethal combination of sexy and dangerous, he has no interest in a relationship... until he meets Kat. Cole wants Kat, and will stop at nothing to have her and keep her, and make her part of the ‘family’.Kat and Cole have an explosive connection from the first moment they lay eyes on one another. Now, Kat faces the hardest choice of her life… Cole or UCLA? Cole would mean dealing with everything that comes from being a "Knight." A world where you are constantly worrying about your loved ones being hurt or possibly worse. But loving him makes it seem worth it. Or does she stick with the plan to get as far away from Belmont as possible? Will she give up her dreams of UCLA for Cole?My Thoughts5 stars!I was a lucky winner in Mari's Release Day Takeover on one of the many Facebook book blogger pages I follow. There was no expectation what so ever for me to review this book. But I LOVED it, and I'm a big fan of Support Indie Authors....so try and stop me from reviewing this book! I loved it that much I bought the second book damn near straight away!OK. So my thoughts. Well Mari makes crime seem hot. I mean, Cole Knight and his brother and father are hot too, and they all make crime seem hot, yet Cole makes it smoulder under his penetrating gaze and panty-wetting good looks. We meet Cole when he comes with Kat's brother to rescue her from the latest of their mothers douche bag boyfriends. Straight away there is a sexual tension between them, and yet Kat is strong in her belief's in what she wants from life and where she wants to go in life. To be honest I doubt I would have the strength that she has to be as strong as she is for sticking to her guns with Cole.I enjoyed this book to the point that I couldn't put it down until I damn near finished it, it was only the 3.30am time check that had me putting it down without realising there was only one chapter left.Mari wrote such steamy scenes that I was disappointed my husband was actually asleep, or he could have taken advantage of the wonderful desires evoked from simply reading.I daren't say any more for fear of spoiling the book and giving away the story line. So instead I will tell you...go and buy this book...buy it now! Go on....BUY IT!About the Author
