The Blue Codex Is Here!

My book is now available! Check out the Blue Codex right now on Amazon! Here is the Summary.
My name is Trini Cortés. I have always been a fan of heroes, and goodness knows Phoenixport could use a hero. So when Calliope asks me if I wanted to write The Blue Codex and pass a Holy Grail test (not the Grail that Jesus made this one is different) I agree to do it. All I have to do is wear a pouch during the Phoenix Festival. Easy enough right? But strange things are going on in town. A rogue cop is giving good cops a bad name, strange islands are forming, crazy brotherhoods who have their own Chosen One for the Grail , and the local gang, Crew 666, is acting too quiet, which is a sign bad things are about to happen. My sister Gloria has offered her help with her light powers, along with Jazlyn, a kitchen witch Wiccan, and Irene, a half nymph refugee. I even have access to wise advice of Calliope and her wife, Lady Viviane aka. The Lady of the Lake, but I know I have to fight this evil alone with my bubble magic and a mysterious pin given to me. After all a hero can’t receive for help, that would just put people in danger. Right?

Gravity Falls Finale

I just finished the last episode of Gravity Falls. BEST FINALE EVER! You really have to watch every episode to understand the genius that is this show. I was only right in one of my prediction, which is why I don’t have a job as a fortune teller, but let talk about the finale point by point. SPOILERS DON’T READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN GRAVITY FALLS YET!!!

First the important thing, Waddles didn’t die. Yay!
How to fight evil weird monsters? Build a giant robot out of the Mystery Shack with a dinosaur arm! Of course!
There is canon gay couple in Gravity Falls.
The only thing I got right about the finale is that Ford and Stan made up.
The most brilliant part of the show is the foreshadowing of the real plot that was the way to defeat Bill. For episodes, we have been given subtle hints about the wheel that would defeat Bill with people being the symbols on the Bill Cipher Wheel. We finally get everyone together only for Stan and Ford fighting ruining. Bill turns everyone into banners expect for Stan, Ford, Dipper, and Mabel. He plans to use the Mystery twins to make Ford allow him to enter his mind.
Now I half expected the show to have all four of them escape from Bill and free the people in the banner to finish the wheel. Instead, the show had where Stan and Ford switched clothes tricking Bill to go into Stan’s mind the erasing Bill from him since they couldn’t erasing him from Ford’s mind due to his metal plate. What is brilliant is that this has all been foreshadow even if no one realized. Just watch ever episode and this will make sense.
Not only was this brilliant foreshadow, but it allows Stan a perfect character moment as Bill is dying offering Stan, money, fame, power, and even the universe. Stan who is one of the most greedy and corrupt character refuses it all just to protect his family. Even believing he will lose all his memories, he still does the right thing.
What is even better is that Stan recovering his memories has also be foreshadow with Mabel’s scrapbook being used in the previous episodes so it doesn’t feel like an ass pull.
The epilogue is perfect giving us the right amount of information, but still leaving enough room for the imagination.

Final conclusions is that Gravity Falls is one of the best cartoons of all time, and it’s finale is probably near perfect. It’s a show you definitely have to watch every single episode, and you won’t be disappointed that you did. If you haven’t the finale or the show. Why are you reading this? GO WATCH IT NOW! For those of you who have seen it leave your comments below on your thought on Gravity Falls and it’s finale. Think of a comfort group for the raw emotions you are feeling.  I have to go see how tumblr is reacting.

Valentine Day Post: Top Ten Friendships In Pop Culture

It’s Valentine Day. You know what that means? A post about friendships! Why because screw people’s expectations for thinking that I was going post about my favorite couples. Besides friendship have love in them. Not a romantic love, but a special kind of love still. Plus it’s apparently internet friends day according to twitter. So let’s honor them today. This is my top ten favorite friendships in pop culture.

Homura and Madoka from Puella Magi Madoka Magica Lets start with a slightly  with a controversial if a third movie existed. Of course, I live in a universe where a third movie doesn’t exist so we aren’t going to talk about that. What we are going to talk about is Homura and Madoka’s friendship. No matter how many time lines they live through their friendship always show through to the point in changed the universe. That is the power of friendship.

Phryne Fisher and Dot from Miss. Fisher Mysteries–   This friendship I can state is very realistic to me because this same friendship that me and spokhette have.  Click on this link to check out her website, which is awesome. Phryne and Dot were exactly how we were in college. Spokhette was Phryne cool, awesome, smart, beautiful, confident in herself and beliefs. I was Dot timid, naive, traditional in many ways, and quiet. In fact, just how Dot is changed by Phryne to become a more confident powerful woman, but still her own person. Spokhette also changed me in a similar way. It was her that even introduce me to this series so this friendship is very special to me.

Watanuki and Doumeki from xxxHolic-  Speaking of friendships that match real life, Watanuki and Doumeki are a near perfect to another friendship I have in real life. At least they fight. I would be the Watanuki saying something emotional and angry and she would reply in dead pan snark then I get mad. Apparently, we are very entertaining to watch.  I can’t help, but have a smile across my face when I watch any episode with these two doing something.

Holmes and Watson from Sherlock Holmes– The difference between a a good Sherlock adaptation and great Sherlock adaptation is how the friendship between Sherlock and Watson. This has to be one of the most witty and classic friendship in all of pop culture. It doesn’t matter what media they are in. The friendship between Watson and Holmes makes the heart of their mysteries.

Luna and Ginny from Harry Potter–  I want spinoff or short story about their friendship. These are tied for my favorite Harry Potter characters and we need more scenes with them. The world demands it! I definitely would love to see the scene where Ginny is defending Luna from some bullies. I bet that would be amazing to read.

Daria and Jane from Daria–  It’s difficult to survive high school with no friends. Even Daria for all her anti social behavior needed someone like Jane to make it through high school. With friendship like their all you need is pizza, and you can make it through anything high school can throw at you.

The Straw Hats from One Piece- What is better then having one friend? Having a whole crew of friends! How else do you take down the world government expect by the power of awesomeness and friendship? Seriously these are the kind of friends that will stick by you even when the rest of society hates you. Those best friendship. I wonder if friendship is what suppose to be the One Piece?

James West and Artemus Gordon from The Wild Wild West–  No one ever talks about this show. I don’t know why. It’s a very charming show. The only real fault is the awful Native American 60s racism. A major strength is the friendship of James West and Artemus Gordon. They are total opposites, but they don’t bicker with each other. They respect each other. That is why the movie version sucks. Can we reboot this show so we can a steampunk western show without the racism? Is that too much to ask for in this world?

Ringo and Okami-san from Okami-san and Her Seven Companions- I love this anime even the ending infuriates me. One o the reasons I love is the friendship between Ringo and Okami-san. Not only is it a total flip on the Red Riding Hood tales, but it’s probably one of the funniest friendships I have ever watched.

Temperance Brennan (Bones) and Angela Montenegro from Bones- Another opposite friendship. Angela is an artist and can be very emotional while Bones is logical and only see society through science. I love how they balance each other out even giving their unique view to help the other with their problems. It is a grand friendship.

And those are my ten favorite friendship from pop culture. What are your favorite friendships? What friendships in pop culture match your own? Leave them down in the comments below.
