900 plus writers take on Amazon…

I had no idea this was going on.

This link will take you to a NY Times article on a fight that is worth every penny and every fear that an author has over Amazon shutting them down over its war with publishers like Hachette.

Two book reviews: Author Tessa Dare and Author Stephanie Laurens

A Night to Surrender (Spindle Cove, #1)A Night to Surrender by Tessa Dare

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Miss Finch is the ultimate heroine in the Regency era. She has found a new way for Spindle Cove aka Spinsters’ Cove to survive the economy brought on by England’s war.

She caters to the women in the ton who are overlooked. Or, misdiagnosed for ailments and issues that too often subject them to poor medical treatment.

Fresh air, exercise and tea are in order.

Yet, Bram (Lt. Colonel Bramwell) interrupts her life and true battle ensues. Who will win the town? Will there be a need for militia in their fishing village? What about the cosmic attraction these two characters feel for each other. Will it be Miss Finch’s ruin to let down her guard and let love in. Great setting and fabulous characters. Love the female geologist character who gets her own story in “A Week to be Wicked.”

Devil's Bride (Cynster, #1)Devil’s Bride by Stephanie Laurens

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Amazing book of the battle between English propriety and true emotion between two main characters: Devil Cynster and Honoria Wetherby.

He proclaims her as his bride from the first chapter!

What happens next is the wearing down of Honoria’s fears and independence to choose and accept love.

Make no mistake, Devil Cynster is a man to be feared by most but Honoria impresses upon him in her first meeting. He takes advantage of her hesitation to proclaim her as his Duchess to the world and his family. Despite her stubbornness as a Wetherby she sees this man for who he is as she has no need for his wealth or his title.

Together, they solve a family mystery and survive the challenges around it all.

Great read!

Hard to believe. So incredibly grateful to the eWomenNetwork – I’m published!

I am officially a #1 Best Seller Author on Amazon.  The smile has not left my body or my soul, yet.  I will forever remember this week.

We made #1 in SIX categories on Amazon in:

1. Work Life Balance in Business

2. Free Will Philosophy

3. Hot New Release in Work Life Balance in Business

4. Hot New Release in Free Will Philosophy

5. Hot New Release in Business Life

6. Hot New Release in Philosophy

Earlier in the year I enrolled in the eWomenNetwork publishing program organized by Sandra Yancey, Ruby Yeh, Amber Ludwig and AJ Harper.

I never imagined that success would be such a gift.

And, a motivator unlike any other.

I really want to thank the authors around me who do have realized their own publishing dreams occur like Shawna Romkey, Julia Phillips Smith, Kate Robbins, Victoria Barbour, Donna Alward, Deborah Hale, Jennie Marsland and other members of Scribe Wenches alongside other RWA chapters.

Hot new release!

Review of inn at Last Chance

Inn at Last Chance (Last Chance, #7)Inn at Last Chance by Hope Ramsay

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really found this novel to be a complex lesson on human relationships and the ability of the past to haunt us all.

Hope Ramsey weaves a complex story between two unlikely people and creates a world full of love, intrigue and oaths being upheld.

The inn Jenny Carpenter creates provides an amazing backdrop to this small town mystery and shows that love is full in each character despite the tragedy that marks Gabriel Raintree’s life. It is the love between Jenny and Gabe that triumphs after all.
