'The Soul's Mark: FOUND' Won 2012 Royal Dragonfly Book Award With a Perfect Score for Young Adult Fiction. Read pressrelease or see the Full list of winners
The Soul's Mark: FOUND has been IndieReader Approved!
"Verdict: While this classic vampire-human love story could have been no more than another Twilight- style tale of possession, Stoyanoff takes care to create both an innovative backstory for the creation of vampires as well as a believable and entertaining romance."
Not convinced yet? Here is an excerpt:
“Crap,” Angelle said, relaxing her stance slightly. “It’s coming from the kitchen. This can’t be good.” She shot Amelia a frazzled look and then dashed up the steps of the porch. At the glass double doors, she turned back and waved, gesturing for Amelia to follow. “Come on, honey,” she called, before rushing into the house.
The screaming grew louder and another clatter echoed through the doorway. Amelia rushed after Angelle, jogging over the inter-locking stone, dazed, as if she had stumbled into an alternate universe. She climbed the three steps of the stone-covered porch and peeked through the open door, trying to stay out of the way of whatever chaos had been unleashed.
A faint smell of smoke washed out, followed by a man’s agonized yell. Amelia glanced around, realizing she was walking into the kitchen.
“Ouch,” he groaned, sounding a bit amused. His arms were raised in an attempt to protect himself from the blows of a broom swishing furiously at him. “It was an accident!” he cried out.
On the other end of the broom was an elderly woman who looked to Amelia like she was made of circles, with a round pudgy face and plump round body. She had on a flowery apron splattered with some kind of yellowy goo and she was screaming unintelligible utterances at the man as she continued to beat him relentlessly.
Suddenly, Amelia saw the stove light up, fire crackling and blazing. Forgetting the scene in front of her, she dropped her bag and rushed in. What had her mother said about grease fires? Baking soda, use baking soda, Amelia thought, that was it. She whipped open the fridge, frantically searching and grabbed a box of baking soda from the door. She dumped it on the burning grease-lit frying pan. The fire extinguished in a billowing cloud of smoke and she coughed when she sucked in a breath.
“What the hell is going on?” Angelle yelled, jumping in between them. She snatched the broom out of the woman’s hands and tossed it out of reach. It flew across the room, and slammed into the wall before clattering to the marble floor. “That’s enough.” She grabbed the man by the shoulders and shoved him away.“He’s ruining my kitchen. Look at this mess,” the elderly woman said in a tizzy, surveying the mess. Amelia followed her gaze and noticed that the yellowy goo was splattered everywhere, smeared across the large cherry island, globbed on the weathered black wall cabinets, dripping from the ceiling, as if a bomb of stickiness had gone off.
The man was rubbing his shoulders, looking at Angelle as if she had really hurt him. Amelia stood back and watched, trying to stay out of the way. He was just as tall as Angelle, and bulky with muscles like a football player, a really hot football player. “I was just trying to make pancakes for Amelia,” he said, smiling bashfully at Amelia. Then he looked back over at Angelle, “And in case you missed it, she was hitting me. Why did you shove me like that?”
Angelle rolled her eyes in a dramatic show of annoyance, “I’m sure you deserved it Eric. You usually do.” She looked over at the woman, who was now scurrying around the kitchen trying to clean up the mess. “What did he do, Mabel?”That’s Eric, Amelia realized. She giggled. He really was looking green. That’s what the guard had been talking about. His shaggy, uneven, punk style haircut was dyed in a vibrant, bright green. Hot, she thought. Green hair, hot? Well, on him, yes, it was really hot. He was covered in the same sticky goo—pancake batter?
“He used a blender without the lid,” Mabel said. Her voice was stern and a touch motherly and she had a soft accent, maybe English, Amelia thought. And she looked absolutely fit to be tied.
He just shrugged. “Stirring was taking too long.”“You’re such a dork—and what’s with the hair?” Angelle laughed. “You look like a little punk.”“Don’t knock the hair,” Eric said, leaning back against the island, arms folded across his chest.“You can’t go to the office like that,” Angelle said.“Don’t have to. I’ve been promoted to personal chauffeur. And I think it looks great. I thought you would appreciate it.” He batted his eyes and struck a pose. “It totally matches my eyes.” He looked Amelia over and then pushed off from the counter, strolling towards her with a mischievous grin on his face.Amelia had hoped they had forgotten about her and she really hoped she wasn’t drooling, because man, he was sexy, like head to toe sexy. He stopped about a foot away from her and she met his eyes, which indeed matched his new hair color.Eric dropped into a gallant bow and she giggled like a little schoolgirl. He took her hand in his, and kissed it lightly. “Welcome my lady,” he said playfully.Angelle groaned. “You are such a moron.”

Things About Me #1
Each week "I Am A Reader, Not A Writer" hosts a "Know Me Better" post. Now I've seen this shared on quite a few blogs I follow and thought it'd be fun to start participating. I love learning new things about people and I hope you'll enjoy learning some new things about me :) Here goes!
What story does your family always tell about you? When I was five-years-old I was playing with this toy doctors kit that came with a pair of plastic, no-blade, scissors. I got tired of playing doctor and decided to play hair dresser instead.
You see where this is going don’t you?
I sectioned off about one to two inches smack dab in the center of my bangs and used these plastic scissors to cut my hair pretty much at the hair line. How these scissors cut my hair I still don’t know—they were plastic! Anyway, I panicked, ran to my grandmother with the chunk of hair I cut off and asked her to glue them back on.
What kind of music do you like? Country! But I love anything with a good beat.
Would you rather have money or fame? Money. I know it doesn’t buy happiness but I could help a lot of people financially if I only had the money to do so.
Do you celebrate Easter? If so what is one of your traditions? Yes! My family does celebrate Easter. The Easter Bunny visits our house and leaves baskets filled with candy eggs and presents for our children. We have an Easter egg hunt and my immediate side of the family comes over to give our kids Easter baskets and gifts. Then we head down to my in-laws and have Easter dinner—usually a fresh ham, mashed potatoes, homemade applesauce, biscuits and salad. Oh yeah, and my kids get Easter baskets there too. They might be a little spoiled :)
Best April Fools Day Joke you have done or someone has done to you? This isn’t really an April Fool’s day prank but it is one of the best pranks I’ve ever pulled. My dad is one of those men who really loves his truck. So the night before Easter nine years ago I decided to play a prank on him by stealing his beloved truck. I enlisted in the help of my hubby (who was just my boyfriend at the time), my brother, and my cousin. We arranged for my dad’s girlfriend to steal his keys and hide them in their mailbox after my dad had gone to bed that night. So around one o’clock in the morning we snuck over to his house, got the keys from the mailbox, and had my cousin get in the driver’s seat. She put the keys in the ignition—but didn’t start it—and shifted it to neutral so my hubby, my brother and I could push it out of the driveway while she steered. Why didn’t she just start it up? My dad’s truck is loud and you can hear that thing coming from a mile away. We managed to successfully get the truck out of the driveway but my plan started to backfire when my cousin didn’t cut the steering wheel enough when the truck was out on the road and it rolled right into the ditch.
Doh!
We tried our darndest to push it out but couldn’t get it to budge. So my brother took over in the driver’s seat, started the truck, and floored it out of there while the rest of us hid in the ditch. Turns out my dad’s a heavy sleeper because he never even heard the truck. We snuck back up the driveway and put a plastic toy truck where my dad’s truck had been parked and then taped a note to the front door (I hand wrote a note from the Easter Bunny saying the truck had been repossessed but to get it back all he had to do was follow the clues—like a scavenger hunt with the first clue being on the note). From there we hopped in my hubby’s SUV and drove down the street to my Aunt and Uncle’s house where we stashed my dad’s truck (and yes, they were in on the prank too). The next morning we met him at my grandmother’s house for Easter dinner and he was not a happy camper. He admitted it was a good prank but demanded his truck back. I didn’t give in that easily…I made him do the scavenger hunt :)

What's In A Book?
One of my favorite things about reading is getting the chance to talk about the book after I've finished it--whether I'm posting a review or telling a friend about it. What makes talking about it even more fun is talking about it to someone who has also read it. You can get into some pretty interesting conversations and it always amazes me when they didn't like a part of the novel (or the novel as a whole) that I just adored, or vice versa. When that happens I always want to know, "Why?" What is it about that particular scene (or novel) that you hated or loved?
I actually had a rather long discussion with a friend of mine about the Fifty Shades of Grey novels. I knew she had read them and, because of all the hype, I was interested in seeing what was so amazing about these novels. She let me borrow the first one and I think I got about two chapters in and put it down, never to pick up again. I'm not about to sit here and put the book down or anything...it just wasn't my cup of tea. Anyway, after I read those two chapters, her and I talked about it and I just had to know why she loved these books so much. After hearing her out, she had almost persuaded me to give them another try. Almost :)
So, with that little story out of the way, I'd like to ask you... What are some likes and/or dislikes you have about novels?

Happy Easter!
Happy Easter, everyone! I hope you all are having a wonderful time and that you're able to share this beautiful day with your loved ones :) I'm looking forward to watching my children enjoy their egg hunts, and having Easter dinner with my family. On a side note, I'm also looking forward to eating Reese's Peanut Butter Cups again. Gave them up for Lent this year...hardest thing I've ever done. LOL. Have a great day!

Tour Stop! "Deep Connections" by Rebecca Graf
It is my pleasure to host author Rebecca Graf on her virtual book tour for Deep Connections! Rebecca is joining us today to share how she manages multiple writing projects, and I've gotta tell ya that I'm impressed--and a little jealous--that she can do this :) Enjoy!
Managing Multiple WWriters march to their own drummer. Don’t listen to any writer that says you have to write a certain way. Every writer has their own method, and it’s not always set in stone. It can change. This is especially true for multiple writing projects. Most writers have ideas hit them every day of the year. They note them for future use, but a few get picked up by the muse. The creative torture begins. You’ll find yourself writing the one story while another one pounds away in your head demanding to be let out. You want to focus on the story in front of you, but you can’t. The result? Confirmed craziness or multiple writing projects.I get started on the main writing project. I get a ways into it before I pull up another project. Let me give you an example of what I’m doing now. I’ve got fourteen writing projects going on at one time. This doesn’t include the editing that I’m doing. My main focus is the final book of the Connections series. I’m at 39,000 words right now. In addition to that, I have thirteen other stories that I have up at all time. I typically keep them all up on my computer. When I’m in a writing mood, I set targets. I write a thousand words on my main story. I then move on to the others writing around a hundred words each. Then I repeat it.Yes, it does sound confusing. It drives some of my writer friends crazy, but sometimes that is how my mind works. I don’t get confused on plot or characters. It helps me feel like I’m getting somewhere on all my stories. Then there are the days when that just won’t cut it. My mind will not accept that method of managing multiple writing projects. There are some days that a story just does nothing for me. I save it and close it. Time for that story to ferment for a while. Then I step away from writing for a day or so and focus on reading. Every author has her own way of managing multiple projects. She might only have two up or have a dozen. She might literally work on them at the same time or meet a goal on one and move to another. It all depends on the muse. Whatever the muse dictates, the author has to follow.

Today we are happy to present you author Rebecca Graf and her work DEEP CONNECTIONS, a thrilling Paranormal Romance.

ExcerptBrenna’s eyes fluttered open to see a blur of trees flying by. Her head pounded and her stomach began to roll from the pain she felt and the fast-changing scenery. A careful look at her surroundings told her she was in an older model car. She inhaled deeply to calm herself, but confusion set in as her senses were assaulted by unfamiliar smells. The old smell of the car was tainted with something repugnant and caused her nose to crinkle in response. Her eyes widened in fright as terrifying memories began to flood her mind. Turning slowly, afraid of what she might see, a gasp involuntarily escaped her vocal cords when she saw he was as repulsive as she remembered. Who was he and what did he want with her?
Sensing her stare, a pair of dark, soulless eyes turned towards her. A smile appeared on his unkempt face. “Well, well, sleeping beauty awakes.” Brenna’s stomach rolled again as she felt his eyes slide hungrily over her body. She pushed up against the door in an effort to put as much distance between the two of them as she could, but he shook his head in disapproval. “No need to be dramatic.” He turned his attention back to the road. “We both know you won’t jump out.”
She set her teeth and glared at him. Eyeballing her surroundings, she saw that there was no end to the trees that lined the road, no sign of civilization. She assumed they were still in the same state as when he grabbed her from the parking lot of the school where she taught. Deep down inside, she knew death awaited her no matter what. The look in his eye was not merciful. Yet jumping from the car to end her life seemed too selfish. As she was not one to keep such joy to herself, she quickly swung her body around and slammed into her abductor. Might as well let him in on the fun!
The force of her body colliding into his sent the car spinning out of control. She began fighting with all her might to prevent him from regaining control. Two sets of hands fought for control of the steering wheel. Profanities were shouted as the fight intensified. The car spun to the edge of the road where a small depression nestled in the forest. The tires left the ground when it hit the slight downward shift of the terrain, the car flipped and somersaulted twenty feet down the hill. As it took its final turn before slamming into a large pine tree, the passenger door flung open from the movement. Brenna thudded on the forest ground and barely missed a clump of trees. Stars exploded in her head and every bone in her body ached from the impact. She looked up to the fading light and let the darkness take possession.

As it took its final turn before slamming into a large pine tree, the passenger door flung open from the movement. Brenna thudded on the forest ground and barely missed a clump of trees. Stars exploded in her head and every bone in her body ached from the impact. She looked up to the fading light and let the darkness take possession.

"Vain" by Jill Hughey Book Blast!
Today we welcome author Jill Hughey and her book "VAIN" an amazing historical romance.
Book Synopsis
Lily had her life planned, neat and tidy as thread on a spindle, until her mother died and her father snipped at the seams of her future by abandoning Lily in their shop. A nobleman unexpectedly gives her hope when he brings fabric for a special garment. Lily survives on his first payment, and immerses herself in sewing and embroidering an incomparable garment for him, as her tidy plan continues to unravel.Theophilus, Lord of Ribeauville, takes his responsibility to his townspeople seriously and, therefore, does not dally with local women. Desire wars with duty when Lily glances up at him while adjusting the hem on his Easter tunic. As her deteriorating circumstances push them together, Theo and Lily learn that the path to his heart just might be through his wardrobe, though the exquisite outfit she creates is the only part of her that fits in his precarious aristocratic world.PRAISES FOR "VAIN":“I absolutely loved the story!” – Gina Ardito, Excellence in Editing“Great character development.” – JeanSquires, beta reader
