Still Writing
For those of you who are wondering, I am still working on Norah's story. I know, I know. It's been forever and a day and the book should have been out by now. But life happens and when it does it causes some set backs. I'm sorry. I still don't have a set release date so I'm sorry I can't share that. But what I can share is a little snippet from my work in progress :) I love Aunt Belle and she honestly cracks me up so I hope you all enjoy this little teaser. Please keep in mind that this hasn't been edited and can be changed slightly upon the final draft. Enjoy :)

Belle shook her head and slid the mug away from Norah. “Uh-uh, honey. This ain’t for you.”“Oh,” Norah said, gently folding her hands onto her lap. “Sorry.”“I’ll get you a cup in a sec,” Belle said. Her lips twisted into a mischievous grin. “But first I’ve got to take this over to that hot thang occupying my center booth.”Amused by her aunt’s behavior, Norah turned to see this “hot thang” her aunt spoke of and froze. It was Chase O’Donnell. And he was staring right at her.“Look at him checkin’ me out,” Belle said.Norah looked back to her aunt just in time to see her send Chase a wink and shimmy her hips. She bit the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing. “That’s mom’s new neighbor,” Norah told Belle as she nodded her head toward Chase and crossed her arms on the counter.“Looks like I’m going to have to make a trip out to your momma’s place in the near future,” Belle said. “I may just get lost along the way… Or better yet, my car might just break down in front of his house and I’ll need to use his phone to call for help.” She waggled her eyebrows.“You are too funny, Aunt Belle.” Norah shook her head. “Who knew you were a cougar?”

Cooking with Kim
I don't know what it is lately but I've really been on a kick of making things from scratch. Bread, Aunt Anne's Soft Pretzels, Pizza, etc. I get a lot of enjoyment from it and it's a fun way to get my kids involved (and actually get them to eat--they can be picky eaters). Here's a pic of the beauty I made last night...
Okay, so maybe it's not the prettiest pizza :)
Even though this pizza was yummy it's still not "the perfect pizza". I'm having trouble finding a really good dough recipe. My husband and I really like a New York style crust, thin and foldable. I've tried many different recipes and, although they taste good, they aren't what we're looking for. With that being said, if any of you who have a really great New York style pizza dough recipe and are willing to share let me know!
I hope you all are having a great day! Talk to you soon!

Visit Me On Facebook
Happy Wednesday to you all! I hope that you are having an awesome week so far and that it keeps getting better!
I'm starting to post more things here on the blog (as of this week). I've really missed interacting with all of you who do stop by to read my ramblings and I'm sorry for slackin' off. Coming up with things to post here AND trying to write my novels is a little hard sometimes. So I can't promise that what I post on here will always be the most interesting of posts, but they'll be honest and give you a peak into my day to day life.
With that being said, I hope you are visiting me on Facebook and/or Twitter as well. I find those a little easier than the blog sometimes because I can share other things from people/pages I like. Like for example...today (and every Wednesday) is what I'm calling "Hot Guy Wednesday" (not the greatest title but it gets the point across *wink wink*).
I hope to see you all there! Have a great day!

Movies, Books, and Wikipedia...Oh My!
So I finally got around to watching "The Hunger Games" and I've got to say that I really enjoyed. And before you say anything, no I have not read the book and yes I know that the book is 100 times better than the movie. I do plan on reading all of the books in the very near future :) I'm really looking forward to watching the second movie as well (and the third and fourth when they come out). But in true Kim fashion I can't ever wait for anything so I went on Wikipedia and looked up the plot details. LOL. I know what's going to happen and I still want to read the books (and see the movie).
I have a really bad habit of Wikiing (is that a word?) things. I'll wait until someone posts the details of a movie on Wiki before I spend the money to go see it. Drives my husband nuts but--what can I say?--I'm just not one for surprises. Speaking of the hubs, I wonder if I can talk him into watching "The Hunger Games" movies with me? I've sort of lost his trust with movies after I begged him to watch the "Twilight Saga" with me (he stopped watching after the third--if he even really "watched" them at all). Ha!
Anyway, getting back to what I was saying before...even before I had my Kindle, whenever I would go the book store I would read the last few pages just to see how it ends before I bought it. Is that weird? Does anyone else do that?
I hope y'all are having a great day! I'm still busy working on Norah and Chases's story. It may not be going as fast as you and I would like but I promise it will get done as soon as I can possibly get it done. Thanks for being so awesome and understanding!

Happy New Year!
Yeah I know I'm a little late with the "Happy New Year" post but better late than never, right? If you follow me on Facebook and Twitter you probably already know that everyone in my house has been battling various illnesses throughout the past month. We get rid of one symptom only to get another and when we think we're all better we get sick all over again. Oh it's been a real blasty blast. I'm just going to stop there because I can be a real whiner when I'm not feeling well :)
Let's change the subject... Check out what it did last night!
We got our first real snow of the season (I call this "real" snow because we got more than an inch). I love it when the snow clings to the trees like this. So pretty! I'm not much of a cold weather gal so I'm enjoying all this lovely white stuff from the comfort of my nice warm home. I did venture outside earlier in it after my son begged to go out and play and after a half hour of getting ready (and having to find the snow boots, gloves, hats, etc) we only stayed in it for about five minutes because--and I quote--"It was too cold".
I hope y'all are having an amazing start to the new year!

25 Things You Don't Know About Me
I haven't done an actual blog post in quite some time so I thought it might be fun to do a "get to know me" type of post. I've done interviews in the past but in most of them I mainly talk about becoming a writer and my novels. This is a lot more random :) I hope you enjoy it and if you'd like to see more of this sort of thing let me know.
25 Things You Don't Know About Me 1. I can draw and paint.
2. My favorite food is chicken and dumplings, followed closely by steak, followed by cheesecake, followed by chocolate chip cookies.
3. I’m right-handed but I can’t do some things using my right hand—like deal cards, holding my purse, carrying things, etc. For all of those I have to use my left hand/arm. I’ve tried using my right and it just doesn’t feel right. Weird.
4. I once burned boxed macaroni and cheese. My husband has never let me live that down.
5. I have never traveled beyond the east coast of the United States.
6. I like to crochet
7. Despite my love of the south and cowboys, I married a city boy. He’s the farthest thing from country but I wouldn’t trade him in for anything.
8. In my senior year of high school I completed a book report from only reading the synopsis on the back of the book. I got a grade of 100%.
9. I’ve been riding horses for as long as I can remember.
10. Apple pie moonshine has quickly become one of my favorite adult beverages.
11. I use to be very shy.
12. I love riding 4-wheelers, dirt bikes, go-carts, etc. And I like to go fast and will not hesitate to gun-it through a mud puddle. The more mud the more fun.
13. I enjoy cooking and baking but I definitely have to follow a recipe. Food creation is not one of my talents.
14. My first Thanksgiving in our house I almost chopped off the tip of my thumb while cutting up sweet potatoes for sweet potato biscuits. Haven’t made sweet potato biscuits since.
15. I do cake decorating. I’ve made multiple cakes for friends and family and even a couple of wedding cakes.
16. I met my husband at my first job. There was a half wall that divided our departments and as we got to be good friends we quickly earned the titles of “Tim and Wilson” as we would stand by the wall and talk over it to one another.
17. My first car was this hot little cherry red Ford Mustang convertible. Just kidding… it was a white Oldsmobile Achieva.
18. Yellow roses are my absolute favorite flower.
19. I’m a bit of a control freak.
20. I’m obsessed with watching beauty videos on YouTube. Hair, make-up, and clothes are a passion of mine.
21. Father of the Bride (Part 1 and Part 2) tops my all time favorite movies to watch.
22. Steel Magnolias is one of those movies I can quote from beginning to end. Forrest Gump is another one.
23. When I first started reading romance novels I would only read books by Norah Hess.
24. I didn’t read my first contemporary romance until three years ago. Since then I’ve grown to prefer them over historical—but I still love historical romances.
25. I never believed that one day I would actually become a writer. It always felt like a dream that would never happen.
