All questions were collected from visitors to my blog or FB…
From Doris S: I can't hold being Army against you(Air Force here)….but do you ever sleep?
A) Too funny. I sleep all the time. I'm blessed with my mom's energy level so I'm typically an early riser (no thanks to my children who refuse to let me sleep in on weekends) and I'm usually asleep by about 10 or 11. Some days are incredibly busy and tiring, others not so much. But coffee helps tremendously.
From Caroline D: Who is your hero based on and where can your twitter followers in the UK get your book we've been waiting for this for ages and ages…
A) Shane Garrison isn't based on any one person. He's kind of an amalgamation of a whole bunch of guys I've met over the years, the strong, quiet type A army guy who doesn't take any crap from anyone. He's the kind of guy that makes work easy in the army because he gives good direction and takes charge to make sure us officer types don't screw things up too badly.
From Emma D: If money wasn't an object what would be the ideal holiday?
A) Ooh, good question. Hmm. Maybe a month in Europe traveling. I was stationed in Germany when I was a private in the late 90s and it was amazing. I'd love to go back and just travel more. I love the history and the cool part about Europe is that damn near everything is less than 6 hours away on the main continent.
From Mary G: When did she know she wanted to write or even know she could write well enough to be published?
A) I decided in 2007 to officially try to get published. I've always written but in 2007, I finally actually wrote a book that had the end on it. Little did I know how much work goes into actually writing and more importantly, revising, a book.
From TuraLura: How did you meet your husband?
A) Well, this is kind of a long story but the short version he was a friend of a friend and we met in Germany at hang out called the Crazy Feet Discotheque. We didn't know we'd end up married but things have a funny way of working themselves out in the end.
Bio: Jessica Scott is a career army officer, mother of two daughters, three cats and three dogs, wife to a career NCO and wrangler of all things stuffed and fluffy. She is a terrible cook and even worse housekeeper, but she's a pretty good shot with her assigned weapon and someone liked some of the stuff she wrote. Somehow, her children are pretty well adjusted and her husband still loves her, despite burned water and a messy house. No zhu zhu pets were harmed in the writing of this book.
BECAUSE OF YOU by Jessica Scott – Excerpt:
Someone solid and heavy knocked into her and sloshed beer down the front of her blouse. A strong vise latched around her arm to steady her. She glanced up into the lightest grey eyes she'd ever seen. Grey eyes that she'd seen before but never this close. In the dimly lit bar, they looked almost silver.
Shane Garrison. A friend of Trent's. Jen had seen him around before, but had never actually spoken to him. He'd always seemed big, but up close he was massive. Black tribal tattoos twisted up both of his wrists, writhing up his forearms to disappear beneath the frayed edge of a green T-shirt. And who knew that bald could be so sexy in the right lighting? Had to be the rough jaw that did it.
"Sorry. You okay?" He leaned close to her ear so he didn't have to shout. Jen shivered as his breath brushed across her skin. He stood closer to her now than any man other than a doctor had in over a year. The heat from his body caressed her skin, and she could smell him, a mixture of spice and smoke and something entirely male. She swallowed and tried to find her voice.
"I'm fine. Thanks. This place is crowded." She knew better than this. She pulled her arm free and tugged the clinging blouse away from her skin, suddenly afraid that he would see the scars on her chest through the wet material.
As the words left her lips, someone jostled her into him again. He tried to steady her but she fell against him anyway.
Time hung suspended and she stood in this man's embrace, feeling protected and safe and deliciously unflawed. It was impossible to miss the hard angles of his body. For one brief fantasy moment, she imagined what it would feel like if this dangerous and sexy man lowered his mouth to hers.
About her book…
From the war-torn streets of Baghdad to the bittersweet comforts of the home front, two wounded hearts navigate the battlefield of coming home from war in this explosive eBook original from newcomer Jessica Scott.
Keeping his men alive is all that matters to Sergeant First Class Shane Garrison. But meeting Jen St. James the night before his latest deployment makes Shane wonder if there's more to life than war. He leaves for Iraq remembering a single kiss with a woman he'll never see again—until a near fatal attack lands him back at home and in her care.
Jen has survived her own brush with death and endured its scars. And yet there's a fire in Shane that makes Jen forget all about her past. He may be her patient, but when this warrior looks her in the eyes, she feels—for the first time in a long time—like a woman. Shane is too proud to ask for help, but for Jen, caring for him is more than a duty—it's a need. And as Jen guides Shane through the fires of healing, she finds something she never expected—her deepest desire.

Friday 56…Hunter's Rise
From Hunter's Rise….closest because it's getting edited, so it's open on my laptop.
At a table off in the corner, Bobby sat rigidly, eyes on the floor.
Gazes skittered toward Toronto and then away. Unlike Bobby, they didn't know what he was. They just recognized trouble.

Thrills & Chills… Excerpt from Lisa Renee Jones…
His cheek brushed hers, whiskers erotically scraping against her skin, his breath warm against her ear as he whispered, "If I instinctively know something so simple as how to order your dinner, think what else I might know about you. What we might know about each other. How to tease each other… How to please each other."
There was an emptiness inside her that shuddered with hope, with a plea that he would drive it away, fill it with something that wasn't icy and cold.
He pulled back and looked at her, his eyes dark, passionate. Compelling. "No regrets, Becca," he vowed, and she knew he'd found those words in her head. Words she'd sworn to live by when she'd left that German hospital without a cure. Words she'd spoken in her head in the lab earlier with him there.
She rolled them around inside her and let them take root, rewarded herself with a deep inhalation of Sterling's addictive, masculine scent. "No regrets," she said softly.
A slow smile formed on his lips. "I love it when you agree with me," he teased.
Becca laughed. "You're crazy."
"About you," he said huskily.
She felt a little schoolgirl rush from that. In the past, she would have felt like the geeky bookworm with the quarterback, uncomfortable and out of her league, but not with Sterling. Never before had a man taken her from such dark emotions to laughter. A place she might just find real escape.
She pressed her hands to his face, her lips to his. Absorbing him. Breathing him in like a little piece of life. They lingered that way, heat simmering between them. Expanding… drawing them in closer to one another without ever moving.
His tongue flickered against her lips, pressed past her teeth as he slid it against hers for a long, sensual taste. "Your kisses taste like honey," he murmured. "What does the rest of you taste like?"
She shivered at the erotic comment—the promise he was going to find out. He kissed her again. Crazy-wild, hot-kissed her, and she loved every second of it. Loved his tongue, his lips, and his hands sliding through her hair, over her face.
Becca ran her fingers through his thick, blond hair. She loved his hair—a little wild like him. Hot like him too. With each stroke of his tongue, each touch of his lips, she felt liberated.
Her palms traveled over his chest—warm, hard muscle, her reward. She was extremely, intensely interested in those muscles, like the best science project in the world that had to be studied. She explored his arms, his biceps, how they felt beneath her palms. Inching forward in her chair, she arched into him, for research purposes, of course. To explore how he would feel pressed close to her. Her breasts ached for his touch, her nipples tight and swollen, in need of his mouth. God. Had she really just had that brazen thought? She was a good girl; she always had been.
His hands slid over her breasts, fingers teased the stiff peaks of her nipples. Her hands covered his, silently telling him she wanted more, because she couldn't ask or demand. Because she was still that "good girl" at heart and couldn't seem to let it go.
But she didn't want to be a good girl. If anyone knew the meaning of "life is short," she did. Becca ran her lips over his jaw, hid her face in his neck, and nibbled as she said, "You know what I want?"
He slid his hands around her waist. "If you say Chinese food, I'm going to object."
"I'll give you a choice then," she said, feeling braver with his jest. "Feed me, or take off your clothes."
"I'm all for getting naked, if you are," he quickly agreed.
"You first," she bargained.
And while the idea of standing in front of him naked, him fully clothed, would make her feel vulnerable, exposed, it apparently had none of those effects on him.
"Okay," he said, unaffected by the idea as he pushed to his feet and started undressing. And only seconds later, he stood there in all his naked glory, and she sat there, fully clothed.

THE BOOKLIST REVIEW….
Nov 2011. 384 p. Sourcebooks/Casablanca, hardcover, $6.99. (9781402251597).
The exciting Zodius futuristic suspense series features soldiers enhanced by a GTECH secret military experiment. Sterling Jeter, who is assigned to guard Rebecca Burns, the scientist working on an antidote for the highly addictive and fatal drug ICE. But Rebecca is also the high-school dream Sterling was never able to realize. She has cancer and tangling with bad guys who want her science skills for their ends has left her an ICE addict, too. She wants to take advantage of her time left with Sterling, while Sterling wants to protect her. As danger mounts, they try to sort out who is trustworthy. The GTECH and science details can best be followed with the help of the index, but they do not overwhelm the appealing characters or action. Jones' suspense truly sizzles with an energy similar to FBI tales with a paranormal twist by Julie Garwood or Suzanne Brockmann. Alpha, military, and paranormal romance readers will want Jones' entire series.
The cover copy:

much more…
But she can see that deep down,he's just a man…
Sterling and Rebecca's teenage romance was interrupted,
but years later the heat between them flares back to life.
Even though it endangers everything they're fighting for, it's
impossible to resist picking up right where they left off…

If You See Her … Galleys/Reviews
I didn't receive typical galleys for If You Hear Her. The same goes for IF YOU SEE HER and IF YOU KNOW HER.
Since I'm very, very limited on the ARCs I've gotten (6 of each), it makes hard to know who to send them to. (No. I'm not doing it now…later). Those who've posted reviews of IF YOU HEAR HER will be the first ones considered. FYI…you didn't have to love the book, that's fine…I don't ask for positive reviews, just honest ones. It doesn't have to be a super-huge blog. Just a blog, with a posted review.
So if you want to figure out how to maybe get an ARC of IF YOU SEE HER, there's the inside line…post a review of IF YOU HEAR HER to your blog.
I'll be putting the call out shortly, but if you haven't read/reviewed/posted a review of IF YOU HEAR HER, but you think you'll want to review the second book, now's a good time to get the review posted. And soon. Because I'll be looking for reviewers in the next week or so.
The fact of the matter is this…this series was written to work best if you read it in order and I'll say that straight up. So if you've read book 1, you're more likely to follow book 2.
Not trying to be unfair or anything, which is why I'm trying to give you a heads-up.
Please note..this will not be a contest…the ARCs were intended for promotional purposes. :) Hope you understand. I do plan on holding onto one of them for a reader giveaway here at the blog.

Snippet-y….
It was the woods—night dark and thick with underbrush that grabbed at him, tripped him up. When he fell, he landed in a puddle of blood.
Her blood.
Lena's blood.
Lena's face shifted, reformed…and it was the woman. The woman found at Law's, her battered, ruined face staring lifelessly up at the sky.
He dreamed, knew he dreamed, but he couldn't make himself wake up.
Even as the woman morphed from the dead woman to his lover to his partner, over and over in an unending circle, he was helpless, trapped, unable to stop it, unable to change it—
"Damn it, wake up!"
Breath ripping out of him in sobs, Ezra tore out of the dream and sat up, staring at the pale oval of Lena's face.
"Shit. Fuck."
A cold, nasty sweat drenched him and he fought his way out of the blankets, stumbled over to the doorway, hit the light switch. Lena sat in the bed, staring in his direction, her sightless eyes huge and frightened. She had the sheet clutched between her bare breasts, her hand balled up into a fist.
"Are you okay?"
"Bad dream," he said, his voice rusty. He leaned against the wall, rubbing at the knotted muscles in his leg.
"Bad dream?" she echoed. She gave him a faint smile. "Ezra, when I dream about waking up naked in front of my high school English class while giving a report on women's rights, that is a bad dream. What you were having…I don't think bad dream describes it."
She held out a hand. "Come back to bed?"
He didn't want to. He was shaking, like a leaf, he realized, and half sick. But at the sight of her slender hand, reaching out to him…well, walking away was one thing he just couldn't do.
Swallowing against the tightness in his throat, he walked stiffly over to the bed and sank down on it. Lena shifted around and when he lay down, she guided his head to her lap. "Your leg is bothering you," she said quietly.
Ezra didn't answer. Mind over matter. Psycho-babble shit. If he ignored the leg, didn't think about the dreams…
"Tell me what you were dreaming about," she said softly, combing a hand through his hair.
No.
That was the last think he wanted to do.
No. No.

Scary…thrilling…that's today's theme
From If You Hear Her
Her breath lodged in her throat and she eased peeked through the blinds, staring out in the darkness. Tried to breathe…and couldn't.
Tried to breathe…and damn near screamed. Clapping a hand over her mouth, Hope Carson breathed out a prayer against her muffling palm. One step after another, she backed away from the window.
She'd just seen a shadow.
Out there in the darkness, where she shouldn't be seeing anything.
Moving toward the garage.
A man.
Carrying…something.
