Welcome to D. D. Scott-ville...Debut Author David Slegg!!!

Happy Tuesday, D. D. Scott-ville!

How 'bout a big 'ole D. D. Scott-ville Welcome to...

Debut Author

David Slegg

Yep..."the" David Slegg who's also my Co-Author in the STUCK WITH A SERIES of Serial Novels!!!

Y'all are gonna luuuvvv getting to know David, who happens to be one of my fave peeps!

And wait till you check out his Farm Pics of the Day (FPotD) which I adore!!!

Okay...take it away, David...

TAKING MY FIRST STEPS AS AN AUTHOR

By David Slegg

Hello to everyone out there in D.D. Scott-ville!

This is David Slegg, D.D. Scott's new co-author for the STUCK WITH A Series of Serial Novels. I'm really excited to be guest blogging on D.D.'s site today. Thanks, D.D.!

I grew up on a cattle farm along the banks of the Wabash River and earned my bachelors in Ag Economics from Purdue. I've kept busy with just about every type of work under the sun over the years. Most recently, I got my MLIS (Masters in Library and Information Science) from Simmons College in Boston where I lived for the past several years.

I recently moved back to the family farm where, along with tending the cows, I've been editing and now I've added writing to the mix.

Just like the newborn calf shown in the image below who's taking his first steps, I'm taking my first steps into the author world. Just FYI, this little guy was featured in my first Farm Pic of the Day on my blog.

I'm very exited to be starting out on my journey as a debut author and I'm even more excited and honored to have the opportunity to begin this journey with the know-how and invaluable counsel of my amazing co-author, D.D. Scott.

It's going to be great to see how this all unfolds. As I mentioned above, I'm going to be sharing a Farm Pic of the Week on my blog every Thursday, as well as sharing my Farm Pic of the Day on Facebook and Twitter each day. I hope you'll come on over and connect with me Down on the Farm. I think this is going to be a wonderful journey. I hope you will all join me Down on the Farm!

*********************************

Very cool stuff, David!

It's Your Turn, D. D. Scott-ville: What would y'all like to know about David? Ask away, and I betchya he just might answer...

Serial Novels: D. D. Scott and David Slegg Do Dickens!

Happy Monday, D. D. Scott-ville!!!

What a day!!! What an announcement to share with y'all!!!

You're probably thinkin'...

Who's David Slegg?

And

What do D. D. Scott and this David Slegg have to do with Charles Dickens?

Here's the scoop...

David Slegg is my new Co-Author.

He's the Castle to my Beckett.

You can get the scoop on him on his new website:

http://davidslegg.com/

And

Welcome to our new series...

The Stuck with a Series!

For all you superfab Castle fans out there...

The Stuck with a Series is –

Castle gone country

Today, our first Stuck with a Series Book – STUCK WITH A STIFF – releases!

STUCK WITH A STIFF finishes where I left off in my WG2E All-For-Indies Viva La Valentine Anthology contribution – STUCK WITH A SCHMUCK (the STUCK WITH A STIFF Prequel).

Y'all will find out how that body got in Nicky Blane's chicken coop as well as who dumped it there to frame Nicky.

Now then...here's the coolest part of all about this new release...

STUCK WITH A STIFF is being released in serial format!

What does that mean?

Think D. D. Scott and David Slegg do Charles Dickens.

Charles Dickens began his writing career by publishing his novels in Serial Format, which meant that each month, another installment (aka chapter) was released.

How fun is that?!

Okay...fun...but why would an author want to do that?

Here's the scoop...

One of the questions I'm asked most by my readers is:

"How long do we have to wait for the next book?"

Mind you, I write damn fast – it takes me about three months to write a full-length novel – but, I know, that's not fast enough, right?! Not according to my readers!!! LOL!

So, "what if" I treated you to a new bit of D. D. Scott-ville, along with David Slegg, each week?

As in...one or two new chapters per week?

Ala Dickens!!!

D. D. Scott and David Slegg Do Dickens

Each week then, just like Dickens did each month, David and I will treat ya to the next chapter in our Stuck with a Series books.

For just $2.99 per year, you can subscribe to our Stuck with a Series Subscription Service and receive your weekly installment of our books.

We plan to release two full-length novels in this series in 2012, along with a Christmas Novella too.

So, you're getting two full-length novels and a Christmas Novella for just $2.99!!!

Here's how the Subscription Service works...

Just email me - dd(dot)scott(at)live(dot)com - that you'd like to subscribe (Subject Line: Stuck with a Series Subscription) then send in your PayPal payment of $2.99, payable to that same email...and we'll sub you into our A-mazing Stuck with a Series World!!!

You'll begin your Stuck with a Series Adventure in our Yahoo Group with both STUCK WITH A SCHMUCK (The Prequel to the series) and the first chapter of STUCK WITH A STIFF (The Stuck with a Series – Book 1):

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scottandsleggstuckwithaseries/

Our Stuck With A Series World will be totally Reader-Interactive too...in that, in many cases, you'll choose which direction you'd like to see the stories and characters go! We'll also have a ton of cool pictures so you can "see" our world too!!!

Happy Ereading!!!

And Welcome to our Stuck with a Series of Serial Ebooks!!!

CARATS and COCONUTS - Cozy Cash Mystery #3 - is Here!!!

Happy Tuesday, D. D. Scott-ville!!!

Ohhh yeahhh...let's start Happy Dancin' together...

CARATS and COCONUTS - Cozy Cash Mystery #3 - is here!!!

CARATS and COCONUTS on Amazon

on B&N Nook

at Smashwords

Welcome Back to my Cozy Cash Mystery World!!!

Here's the scoop:

Think Will and Kate gone Bond, James Bond in the gem smuggling world of Brazil's Amazon Rainforest...with the help of Grams, who now has a Queen of Crabby Maxine fixation.

There's crazy.

Then there's a cut above crazy.

And when your parents are two of the world's top gemologists, you not only learn to deal with cuts – brilliant, baguette, briolette and the list goes on - but you also get damn good at dealin' with the crazies that those cuts bring into your life. And by crazies, think the smugglers and thieves who transport gems around the globe.

So yeah, as you can imagine, Zoey Witherspoon's life has been anything but Mayberry. And she doesn't see that changing anytime soon.

As a Designer and Stylist to The Stars, a fairly new PI, and now the Princess of Caserta, she's got one crazy-packed resume. As if that's not enough, she's also the daughter of George and Suzie Witherspoon of Witherspoon & Witherspoon, the world's premiere gem vault and lapidary.

The world can't responsibly deal with the kinds of wealth her parents cut from rocks. The gem trade breeds its own kind of terror. And Zoey's about to put an end to it...or at least the part of it she knows how to stop. Unless the smugglers stop her first.

Bonus Content Included:

In case you missed my Cozy Cash Mystery Christmas Novella - HULLABALOO AND HOLLY TOO - which gives you a superfab fun set-up to CARATS AND COCONUTS – or missed A CUT ABOVE CRAZY (the prequel to CARATS AND COCONUTS)...no worries...'cause they're both included!

***I'm treatin' ya to three stories for just 99 Cents!!! Plus...y'all get a Sneak Peek at my new series - The Stuck with a Series - which debuts later this month with Book One - Stuck with a Stiff!!!***

Happy Reading, D. D. Scott-ville!

And thanks sooo very much for all your enthusiasm regarding the release of this next Cozy Cash Mystery!!!

Sexy Sassy Smart...Snuggies and Ereading

Happy Tuesday, D. D. Scott-ville!

For Valentine's Day, my DH got me something I've been wanting for quite a while now...

A Snuggie!!!

Yep...an "as seen on TV" Snuggie!!! LOL!!!

I've been wanting to snuggle-up in a Snuggie while I read, and now I can!!!

But wait...there's more...just like the infomercials say...

That also got me to thinking about my Reading Habits in general...well, my new Snuggie got me thinking, along with a superfab new addition to my RG2E site...

The RG2E Reader2Author Interviews

This coming Sunday, the A-mazing Alicia Street will kick-off these one-of-a-kind interviews...interviews in which authors are interviewed by YOU...our over the moon wonderful readers!!!

How cool is that?!

Another fun thing we'll be doing at The RG2E is taking in depth looks at all of our reading habits.

For example, in this new Ereading World, how have our Reading Habits changed?

Here's a Sneak Peek into my Reading Habits:

I should begin by saying that it's literally totally Ereading for me now. I can't tell you the last time I was in a bookstore, and I honestly don't remember the last time I read a print book...t's been that long ago!!!

I've learned that with Ereading, I now enjoy reading several books at once. It's just sooo darn easy to click between books. I always have one non-fiction going at the same time as one each in the following fiction genres: romantic comedy, humorous mystery, thriller, and usually one of Gordon Kirkland's humorous essay collections too.

I Eread in my fave reading chair with my Snuggie on and my Kindle in my lap and a cup of coffee, tea or a cocktail close-by. I also take my Kindle whenever I have an appointment with an expected waiting period.

I Eread for pleasure in the evenings.

I Eread for business and/or craft during the day – for example, I also read all industry blogs via my Kindle (if they're available with a Kindle Subscription...which most are now).

I think we're gonna learn a ton from all of you A-mazing Readers with these kind of RG2E Reader2Author Interviews, and it will be very valuable info to help us as authors better connect with YOU - our readers and fans.

See you at The RG2E this coming Sunday (February 26th)!!!

In the mean time, it's your turn, D. D. Scott-ville: How many Snuggie owners do we have in D. D. Scott-ville? And how 'bout reading habits of your own? When and Where do you read? And do you Eread, Print Read or Both? And if you Eread, which Ereader do you use?

Behind and Beyond My Books: Carats and Coconuts - Cozy Cash Mystery #3

Happy Tuesday, D. D. Scott-ville!

With Cozy Cash Mystery #3 - CARATS & COCONUTS - about to be released (within the next ten days), I thought I'd treat you to the "Behind and Beyond" of this book.

For CARATS & COCONUTS:

Think Will and Kate gone Bond, James Bond in the gem smuggling world of Brazil's Amazon Rainforest...oh, and with the help of Grams, who now has a Queen of Crabby Maxine fixation.

And on that note...

One of the questions most asked of authors is:

How do you get your story ideas?

So, why "gem smuggling"?

Here's the scoop:

About three years ago now, The DH and I visited The Smithsonian to see, among other things, The National Gem Collection.

In the museum's gift shop, I found the gorgeous coffee table book above, plus the following titles:

The crowd around The Hope Diamond was so huge, it took me forever to get close enough to see it. And it was the same way throughout every room of the gem exhibit. You couldn't move without hearing another "oooo" or "ahhhh" and a "look at that thing"!

I was every bit as mesmerized too by the glittering razzle-dazzle of some of the world's most brilliant jewels. But the storyteller in me was every bit as enamored by the stories and mysteries and danger behind these jewels ending up in the highly-secured cases I was standing in front of three to four-people deep.

At the time, I had no idea how I'd work these into a book or which book for that matter.

I only knew that someday I'd write about this world and the stories behind all its bling and sparkle.

And wow...that world is far, far from the pretty nature of the gem stones it produces.

I hope, with Carats & Coconuts, y'all join me in helping to stop the dangerous and deadly cycles of violence caused by the trade and smuggling of conflict gems.

How can you help?

By buying faux stones used by designers in all kinds of superfab fun Costume/Fashion Jewely.

Costume/Fashion Jewelry rocks!

And by buying those pieces, instead of jewelry made of real stones, you very well could be saving the lives of many of the world's poorest indigenous populations.

Nothin' Beats Treatin' Readers to Free Ebook Gift Copies - From The RG2E!!!

Happy Tuesday, D. D. Scott-ville!!!

It's been a little less than one week since the launch of my new site!!!

The RG2E

launched February 1st, and we've already Ebook Gift Copied over 100 Ebooks to our readers!!!

RG2E = The Reader's Guide to Epublishing

And here's what it's all about...

Nothin' beats treatin' readers to Free Ebook Gift Copies!!!

Why are we doing this? And why did I create The RG2E?

We're treating readers to Free Ebook Gift Copies - and in the format of your choice, based on which Ereaders and/or Apps you prefer to read on or with - because there's simply no better way to introduce y'all to great books by great new Indie Epub Authors than by giving you Free Ebooks!!!

It's a way we can help you find new Ebooks in all your fave genres as well as give you a superfab Free and easy way to try new genres and authors too!

I created The RG2E as an extension of my WG2E (The Writer's Guide to Epublishing) brand, which is:

Writers Helping Writers Reach Readers

And there's no better way to reach all you superfab readers than to gift you with a ton of Free Ebooks, right?!

Each day at The RG2E, we have several different Ebooks featured in what we call our Ebooks of The Day (EOTD).

You can sign-up to receive The RG2E via Email (the sign-up box is at the top of our right sidebar), which lists each day's featured EOTD.

You can also then go to individual pages on The RG2E site highlighting Ebooks in the genres you luuuvvv. For example, if Romance is your kinda read, just go to our Eread Romance Page, and you'll see all the Romance EOTD we've featured as well as bunches of extra superfab fun scoop on each book as well as its author(s) too!

We're not just givin' away Ebooks at The RG2E. We're also - beginning later this month - going to be giving away at least one Ereader per month as well!!! (Stay tuned for all the rules and scoop on those giveaways too!)

Go on over to The RG2E, D. D. Scott-ville, then let us know what you think of the new site!

Oh, and all you have to do to be eligible to win your choice of each day's EOTD is:

1. Make sure you've signed-up for The RG2E via Email (you'll find the sign-up box at the top of the right sidebar on our Home Page)…you only have to do this once.

2. Each day then, simply leave a comment in our Comments Section as to which Ebook you'd like and for which Ereader.

Welcome to The WG2E All-For-Indies Anthologies - The Viva La Valentine Edition!

Happy Tuesday, D. D. Scott-ville!!!

And

WELCOME TO THE WG2E ALL-FOR-INDIES ANTHOLOGIES
(VIVA LA VALENTINE EDITION)

When just one year ago, I brainstormed The WG2E – The Writer's Guide to Epublishing – your destination site for all-things-Epublishing, I never in my wildest, most spectacular dreams imagined I'd end up creating a site which now gets over one million hits per month and is the first visit of the day for over 4500 Indie Epublished Writers and Authors!

At The WG2E, it's all about finding ways to Pay It Forward, both to our fellow writers and to all our superfab readers too.

We simply luuuvvv treating readers to great books for great prices and helping our fellow authors find new readers around the globe.

With this Second Edition of our WG2E All-For-Indies Anthologies, we're treating you to a terrific, one-of-a-kind approach to the anthology concept.

You'll get a variety of genres all packaged together and with a variety of story lengths – from short-shorts, to short and novella length too - as a wonderful way to discover authors new to you!

In addition, each WG2E Anthology is based on a different theme.

Here's what we mean by that...

In our WG2E Winter Viva La Valentine Anthology, we're treating you to stories that yes, have a Valentine's Day element, but you'll never think of Valentine's Day in quite the same way.

For example:

"What happens if you're stuck with a schmuck on Cupid's Big Day?" for D. D. Scott's STUCK WITH A SCHMUCK

"Love can be a real show or tell" for Talli Roland's YOU DON'T HAVE TO SAY YOU LOVE ME

"What's better than a little chocolate on Valentine's Day?" for Chicki Brown's YOU MAKE FEEL BRAND NEW

"Books aren't the only things you can check out at the library" for Lisa Lim's LOVE IN THE STACKS

"Who knew Cupid was such a Ladies' Man and that Guardian Angels have a super-steamy side?" for Melanie Ainsworth's CHERUB'S CHOICE

"Valentines, Vampires and Key Lime Pie" for Buck Buchanan's HEART BREAKER

"What happens when The Grinch plays Cupid?" for Sheila Seabrook's THE VALENTINE GRINCH

"What if Cupid couldn't find you because you were too busy being busy?" for Diane Vallere's INDEPENDENCE DAY

"One cab ride can change your heart forever" for Christy Hayes' GOOD LUCK, BAD TIMING, AND WHEN HARRY MET SALLY

Happy Reading and Welcome Back to our WG2E All-For-Indies Anthologies!

***This edition will be live any moment now, and I'll post the links as soon as I have them!!!

I've Got a New Treat for all you Superfab D. D. Scott-ville Readers - The RG2E - The Reader's Guide to Epublishing!

Happy Tuesday, D. D. Scott-ville!

I've got a wonderful new treat for all you superfab D. D. Scott-ville Readers...coming soon - February 1st to be exact!

The RG2E - The Reader's Guide to Epublishing

The RG2E - The Reader's Guide to Epublishing - is going to be a sister site to the site I co-founded The WG2E - The Writer's Guide to Epublishing.

And just as their names indicate...

The WG2E is for all my superfab fellow Writers.

The RG2E will be for all you superfab Readers!!!

What I envision and am in the process of creating is a site that will be a one-of-a-kind, Author-Reader interactive, destination site for all-things Ereading.

Unlike many Ereading sites you see out there, we won't be limiting our featured Ebooks to just one Ereading device. So, in other words, that means it doesn't matter if you choose to Eread on an Amazon Kindle, a Barnes & Noble Nook, a Sony Reader, Kobo, iPad or any other version, we'll feature books you can read on all of these Ereading devices.

In addition, most Ereading sites just feature one Ebook a Day. But that means, if you don't like that genre, then there's nothing for you on that given day. Not so at The RG2E, we'll be featuring a variety of genres and sub-genres each and every day, 7 days per week-365 days per year, so there will always be something there that might interest you.

Very cool and unique so far, right?

But ohhh yeahhh...you know it! LOL! In D. D. Scott-ville, there's always more...

We'll have a ton of Author-Reader Interactive Events, including, but not limited too:

1. Author Interviews done by you...one of that author's fans!

2. Tons, tons, tons (did I say tons?!) of Ereader Giveaways...that's right, you want a new Ereader? You might just win one on The RG2E!!!

3. Tons, tons, tons (did I say tons again?!) of Ebook Giveaways...that's right, we're also not just featuring a plethora of Ebooks each and every day, we're E-Gifting a ton of 'em every day too!!! We want to help you fill your Ereaders with great books for great prices!!!

4. A totally out-of-the-park cool monthly E-newsletter where you'll hear from your fave authors and new authors too...and you'll hear things about 'em you'll never find anywhere else!

5. Instead of around 250 - 350 featured books per year, we'll give shout-outs and features to over 3,650 Ebooks per year!

Tons of superfab fun stuff, right?!

Here's more scoop on The RG2E and how we're building it:

The RG2E is Coming Soon!

We Need Your Help Choosing The Genres for The RG2E Ebooks of The Day

And as that second link says, we need all you D. D. Scott-ville Readers' input too!!!

It's Your Turn, D. D. Scott-ville: Which are your fave genres to read and genres you'd like to see featured on The RG2E? Oh, and what kinds of cool scoop would you like to know about the authors and books you're reading? Also, what price do you find reasonable for Ebooks?
