Here's How to Deal with Stress...in a D. D. Scott-ville Bitchy Sign Bonanza Way!!!

Happy Tuesday, Peeps!

Lately, in D. D. Scott-ville, it's been a wee bit stressful. No worries, though. It's all good and just the normal kinda stressful stuff in the publishing world - i.e. projects a tad behind schedule, distributors not paying on-time, dealing with 'tude when it comes to Indie Epublishing, and too many ideas to write/too little time.

Yep, all the usual "stuff."

But here's a superfab fun way that I've learned to deal with it and thrive and still have a helluva great time...most days...LOL!

I rely on Bitchy Signs like these:

And for those days when even the Bitchy Signs aren't enough, I squeeze the hell outta my new Stress Buddies...

Look...when they're under pressure, their eyes bulge out just like mine...

How fun is all that madness?!

What's New and Coming Soon to D. D. Scott-ville!

Happy Tuesday, D. D. Scott-ville!

I'm over the moon to fill you in on What's New and What's Coming Soon to treat all you superfab D. D. Scott-ville Peeps...

First, later this week, get ready for the 4th Edition of our WG2E All-For-Indies Anthologies:

Here's the scoop -

With this Fourth Edition of our WG2E All-For-Indies Anthologies, we’re treating you to a terrific, one-of-a-kind approach to the anthology concept.

You’ll get a variety of genres all packaged together as a wonderful way to discover authors new to you and a variety of story lengths – from short-shorts, to short and novella length too!

In addition, each WG2E Anthology is based on a different theme, and we’re over the moon to offer you unique perspectives on these superfab fun themes.

Here’s what we mean by that...

In our WG2E Summer Fling Anthology, we’re treating you to stories that yes, have a Summer and/or At The Beach element, but you’ll never think of Summer or The Beach in quite the same way.

For example:

“What if Victoria’s Secret meets Kill Bill…in The O.C.?” for D. D. Scott’s FLUID FULFILLMENT

“Will this hot and humid Savannah night save a young couple’s love…or end it?” for Lois Lavrisa’s TURNABOUT TWIST

“Will two lovers’ troubled pasts be too much for their summer romance to overcome?” for Cynthia Woolf’s TAME A SUMMER HEART

“With the help of a barely-there bikini, could a super steamy PI assignment turn into something more?” for L.C. Giroux’s WILD CHILD

“How about a summer romance she never saw coming?” for Lisa Scott’s HOT AND BOTHERED

Note: Watch for The WG2E All-For-Indies Anthologies Spooky Shorts Edition coming Halloween 2012 and the Martini Madness Edition coming for the 2012 Holiday Season!!!

Also, headed your way later this month...be watching for Book One of my brand new series:

Here's a little scoop on that:

For Stuck with a Stiff – Book One of the Stuck with a Series - think Castle and Beckett gone-country meet Betty Boop and My Cousin Vinny.

And for all of you D. D. Scott Bootscootin’ Books and Cozy Cash Mystery Fans, The Mom Squad joins the fun!

The Stuck with a Series is Castle gone-country with The Mom Squad, Betty Boop and My Cousin Vinny in the barnyard.

But this ain’t no ordinary barnyard. There’s a lot more than a crazy rooster missing from the chicken coop, a bad ass cow causing a bunch of trouble and a dog looking like he ran full throttle out of the pages of a storybook. There’s a stiff too. A stiff - as in a dead guy - in a snow drift near the chicken coop.

Things aren’t lookin’ too good for Nicky Blane, who owns the farm. He’s used to creating fictional stiffs for his bestselling novels, not defending himself from being framed for murder.

Bonus Content Included:

In case you missed my Stuck with a Series Prequel (part of The WG2E's Viva La Valentine Anthology) – STUCK WITH A SCHMUCK - which gives you a superfab fun set-up to STUCK WITH A STIFF – no worries...’cause it’s included!

About My Co-Author:

David Slegg is a Debut Humorous Mystery Author. He grew up on a cattle farm on the banks of the Wabash River and studied Ag Economics at Purdue. He’s been just about everything under the sun - a waiter, a research technician, a bouncer, a salesman, a mapmaker, a bookseller, an ultra-marathon runner, an AutoCAD drafter, and an editor. In his spare time, he recently earned his MLIS (Master of Library and Information Science) from Simmons College in Boston. His friends have been telling him for years that he should write a book. Let’s just say he’s had an unusually high number of improbably unlucky experiences. We’re talking about the sorts of things that you’d find humorous if they were happening to a character in a novel but not so funny if they were happening to you. He inflicts some of these situations on his characters. Hell, it’s probably therapeutic.

Note: This is the first book in my Serial Novels Collection that is now finished and ready to go live as its own single title release. To join my Serial Novel Subscription Service, where you get one to two new chapters per week by email, click here:

http://ddscottville.blogspot.com/p/my-books.html

Sounds like a heckuva bunch of fun, right?!

But that's not all headed your way...

Buckles Me Baby (Bootscootin' Book #3) Audio Book - September/October 2012

The D. D. Scott-ville 2012 Christmas Theme is...

Happy Tuesday, D. D. Scott-ville!

Each year, around the end of July or August (so yeah...part of the whole superfab Christmas in July spirit), I choose my D. D. Scott-ville Christmas Theme!

Last year, based on my love of all-things Bitchy Signs, it was:

A Committed Christmas

Note: You can catch a couple of my previous themes too in the Committed Christmas post.

Now then...for 2012...

Drum roll here...

Let's hear it for

Ho-Ho-Ho and Show Me the Dough

How fabulous is this little guy?!

I found him during a Muse Therapy Trip last week to one of my fave Art Festivals in Nappanee IN

And he became the inspiration for my 2012 Christmas Theme!

I also had these fabulous ornaments made for Buckley and Siggy:

All three of these are made of Dough by the wonderfully talented peeps at

Dough Folks

I knew I wanted something sassy, fun and full of dough to celebrate the year I finally broke into the publishing world in a "show me the dough" kinda way. So, what better way to have fun with that than by a tree filled with dough ornaments?! :-)

For my topper, I'm going to make a blinged-out sign reading "Pay It Forward"...'cause as y'all know, here in D. D. Scott-ville, that's what it's all about - Paying It Forward.

The Best of D. D. Scott-ville Pay It Forward Wishes --- D. D. Scott

P.S. Tell us about your Christmas trees and themes...and how do you Pay It Forward during the holiday season (and the rest of the year too)?

Bitchy Signs to Help You Achieve What Some Would Call Impossible Dreams

Happy Tuesday, D. D. Scott-ville Peeps!

On August 10th, I’ll celebrate my 2nd Year Anniversary as an Indie Epublished Author! :-)

It took me 10 Years and 24 Hours to make it, but I finally did!!!

I’ve gone from selling 27 books my first month (August 2010) – yep, just 27 books – to now between 7,000 and 10,000 per month...some months more. I’ve now sold over 100,000 Ebooks and am building my readership by over 10,000 new readers per month.

But here's the thing...for years, people thought I was nuts. A real Crazy Chick. Should be in a Psych Ward type gal.

Why? Because I was dumb enough to talk about my dreams. Let people know when I thought I'd made it, based on other peoples promises and deals-gone-bad.

It would have been really easy and probably a bunch healthier short-term to give-up.

BUT...

I DIDN'T

I KEPT ON SKIPPIN' ALONG THE YELLOW BRICK ROAD...ALL THE WAY TO MY VERY OWN PUBLISHING OZ!

For all of you waaay wonderful Writers in D. D. Scott-ville, here's some scoop you'd be interested in:

Two Years of Indie Epublishing Lessons

And for all of you waaay A-mazing D. D. Scott-ville Readers, it's because of each and every one of you that I made it! And there isn't a day that goes by that I don't thank you and work harder yet to treat you to another great book for a great price!!!

Here are a few Bitchy Signs to Help You Achieve What Some Would Call Impossible Dreams:

Be ready to ride...and cuss a bunch...

Find a great therapist...

***For Writers: you can also check out my Muse Therapy Book and Classes!!!

Believe in Karma and act on it!

And tell all of those people who tell you you're nuts to stick it and just do whatever it is you do anyway!

The only way you're gonna always suck is if you quit when you still do. And at the beginning, we're all at that level. In the end...yeah...not so much. And for those who still think you do? Well...tell them to stick it too!!!

Cheers to Each of You Achieving Your Dreams and Thank You to Each of You Who've Helped Me Make Mine Come True --- D. D. Scott

Bitchy Signs that sooo work for Business

Happy Tuesday, D. D. Scott-ville!

I'm thrilled to announce that over the weekend, my next non-fiction book released, and it contains all my Secrets to Indie Epublishing Success!

Here's the scoop and all the links too on my new page For Writers in D. D. Scott-ville:

For Writers

The release of this book got me to thinkin' about all the Bitchy Signs I've collected that sooo work for Business. In other words, these are the signs that have given me the courage to stay the Self-Publishing course until I succeeded.

For example, I'd tried for 10+ years to break into publishing the Traditional Way by submitting to agents, editors, and New York Publishers. But not until I had the courage to first say "wow, the TradiPub system really consists of piss poor business practices" and then act on that fact did I have the courage to try Indie Epublishing/Self-Publishing.

For years, even after I got the high-powered agents and got the attention of big-time editors and New York publishers, and had deal after deal fall through, people still thought I was nuts and would never make it.

Finally, I decided I'd waited long enough for other people to "choose me" (i.e. publish me). I was ready to try it on my own...on the new road that hadn't even been paved yet...the Indie Epub Yellow Brick Road to Publishing Oz...

I took a lot of nasty heat for my decision. But who cares?! I sure as hell didn't. I just wasn't convinced that New York was right and that despite the fact that they loved my books, "no one was buying that kind of book anymore." My gut told me that was total bullshit.

So I had to:

Brush up on my Diplomatic Skills...

Because, let's face it...

And really, after I've now sold over 100,000 Ebooks, those same Ebooks that New York Traditional Publishers said would never sell, I can answer them like this:

It's really this simple:

I gave it a try...with my own D. D. Scott spin...and wow, because of all of you, I'm sooo very glad I did!

Thank you for making all my wildest dreams come true!

I luv ya, D. D. Scott-ville! Y'all Rock!!! --- D. D. Scott

P.S. And remember, whenever someone tells you "You can't do that," think D. D. Scott and say "Oh Yeah? Watch Me!"

Nothin' beats living in the moment:

If only our in the moment grocery shopping worked liked this:

Now then, as far as just suckin' it up and goin' for the gusto, I luuuvvv this one:

And I'd highly recommend living life the Hepburn way...either Katharine:

Or Audrey:

“I did War and Peace in velvets and furs in August...In the hunting scene where I’m in velvet and a high hat, the family was plodding across a big field in the blazing Roman sunshine and, all of a sudden, my horse fainted out from under me. They quickly got me out of the saddle...So when they say I’m strong as a horse, I am. I’m stronger! I didn’t faint. The horse did.”
