Free Short Story
As a thank you for your continued support and patience, I've posted a short story on my website, an historical paranormal story featuring the romantic poet, John Keats. This will eventually be published under my pseudonym for the historical paranormal genre, Elisabeth Junot.
Again, thank you and enjoy!

On Midnight Wings
Now for the bad news. The release date for On Midnight Wings is October 1 (it'll probably be available the end of September.) This is the true and final date. It won't be pushed back again. I apologize from the bottom of my heart for this final delay! But I will make it up to y'all with chapters from OMW, contests leading up to the release, and free short stories.
This last push-back took me by surprise (I found out from a reader), but it IS the last. Again, I'm truly sorry and I'm more moved by your patience and understanding than you can know

Rob Thurman Giveaway
That's right! New York Times bestselling author Rob Thurman's latest book in the incredible Cal Leandros series,
Doubletake
, will be released 03.06.2012! (I already have my copy pre-ordered. And I can't wait until it's in my hot little hands.) I fell in love with this series with book one,
Nightlife
. As soon as I finished it, I promptly started over and read it again. This is a riveting and compelling story about two brothers--who only have each other--who take on monsters of all kinds, including the darkest and deadliest monsters of all--those in your own family. This series usually has me sucking in a breath and sitting on the edge of my seat, then laughing my ass off.
If you enjoy Supernatural, trust me, you'll LOVE Rob Thurman's Cal Leandros books. (Nightlife pre-dates Supernatural, actually.)
So to help my friend celebrate the release of her latest, we're giving away three signed copies of Doubletake!!
o enter the contest, just post a comment stating who your fave character in the Cal Leandros books is or, if you haven't given them a try yet (and you should. You are so depriving yourself otherwise), simply post a comment below. Receive extra points (2 points for each outlet you use) for tweeting about this contest or posting about it on Facebook (please provide links) or on any other social media. So spread the word for more chances to win!
Contest ends on 03.06.2012 and is open to international entries.
Rob also has available some awesome (and free) audio, music, and wallpaper downloads. And be sure to check out the book trailer (chockful of HOT MEN)! You can also read excerpts from all the previous books in the series on Rob's website (not to mention finding buy links.)

I'm excited to announce that I'm taking part in this year's Brenda Novak's Online Auction for the Cure for Diabetes.
The items I have up for bids are: Lunch, Dinner, Coffee, or Tea with me at the Authors After Dark Convention in New Orleans in August.
Now, if you want to bid on this, but don't want to attend the convention, that's not a problem, but you will have to travel to New Orleans so we can have that lunch, dinner, coffee, or tea. :)
Bidding starts April 30th
And the second item is: A full manuscript critique by myself. Again, bidding starts April 30th.
This is for a very worthy cause and features tons of items up for bids from tons of great authors.
Should be a blast!

Caught Forever Between
This is a short story set in the world of my Hoodoo books (Black Dust Mambo, Black Heart Loa), but you don't need to read the books first in order to enjoy the story. For those of you who have read the books, this story features Devlin Daniels and Gabrielle LaRue in a tale of revenge, cold and brutal.
When Cass Danzinger, a tattoo artist with a rare gift, finds her partner lying on the floor of their New Orleans tattoo shop in a pool of blood, the world as she knows it ends. Alex, her ink-slinging Michelangelo, survives, but ends up in the hospital comatose, perhaps permanently.
Lacking faith in the police and their ability to find whoever shot Alex, Cass puts the word out that she's seeking justice, justice she will willingly pay for.
When a Voodoo mambo offers the services of her mysterious godson, Cass finds herself stepping into a dark, deadly world, one that she may not walk out of again intact.
You can buy it on Smashwords and at Amazon or BN.com
Here is an amazing review of the story by BN.com's own Paul Goat Allen: Werewolves in the Bayou.

Best Paranormal Fantasy of 2011
Paul Goat Allen of BN.com has posted his list of the Best Paranormal Fantasy of 2011 and I was thrilled (and a bit shocked) to see that ETCHED IN BONE was in the number 6 slot. Imagine my surprise as I read down the list and discovered BLACK HEART LOA had earned an honorable mention as well! I’m honored to be included in such kick-ass company–Kim Harrison, Kat Richardson, and Laurel K. Hamilton among them.
It was pretty cool to see several of my fellow Pocket authors named in both the Top 13 and the Honorable mentions: Jenn Bennett, Jennifer Estep, and J.F. Lewis. Rob Thurman made Honorable Mention with her 6th Cal Leandros book, BLACKOUT–a book I loved (along with the entire series. READ THEM).
Congratulations to each and every author! And big thanks to Paul for being an untiring advocate for exciting, entertaining, and original paranormal/urban fantasy. You rock, dude!
“2011 was the best year ever for paranormal fantasy…”
– Paul Goat Allen
“I’ll admit it: after the phenomenal year paranormal fantasy had in 2010 – I called it “a watershed year” – I thought that there was no realistic way that 2011 could be as strong, both in terms of quality and quantity of releases. But as I began to compile my “year’s best” list in late November, it hit me: this year’s releases were, collectively, far superior to those of 2010. And while there was no clear #1 pick this year, I found it virtually impossible to trim my list down to a baker’s dozen. So many 2011 releases were noteworthy, I couldn’t in good conscience exclude them. So this year, I’ve included an honorable mention list.” Read the rest.
