J is for Jerod #SpankA2Z #inspirational #romance #sweet #courting

J is for Jerod

Jerod Kinsley is the hero for Courted by Fall and I adore the man. He's quiet, reserved, intelligent, and has an innate need to take care of those he loves. (my kind of man.) I thought I would sit down and talk with him so you could get to know him.

BC: Hi Jerod. It's nice to meet you.

JK: It's a pleasure to meet you, Bree.

BC: From Courted by Fall, we know you are a recent transplant to the town. One thing we don't know is where you lived before you moved to Hyacinth.

JK: I mo...

I is for Instinct #SpankA2Z

I is for Instinct

I think most of us have lost touch with our basic instinct. It kicks in when danger comes after us. You know "I see a werewolf coming." "RUN!"

But for the basics, our instinct has been submerged under data and social networking and well, let's face it, television. We are unfortunately several generations who look for answers to our deepest problems by escaping them through the media in some way. And let's face it - it's easy to do. I haven't watched television for years. I hav...

H is for Hyacinth #SpankA2Z #inspirational #romance #courting

H is for Hyacinth

I bet you could see that coming. One of the reasons I chose the name Hyacinth for the town my series takes place in is one of the 'meanings' for the flower is constancy. And that is one constant through the books, that these families live and thrive through the courting system and domestic discipline lifestyles that they have been a part of for over a century.

Yes, I love the new and the different, but I'm a July baby, which essentially means that I feel safest if certain thin...

G is for Gaelic #SpankA2Z #inspirational #romance #sweet

G is for Gaelic

No, not the language, though that might have had a little to do with how that particular character popped up. Gaelic is Gaelic Covington, hero of Courted by Understanding. I adore him. Yep. I do. He's not my kind of companion, but he's the kind of guy I'd like to pat on the head and adopt as my little brother. On the surface, he appears like he has it all, a successful professional life, hot looks, a nice deep voice, and women who would flock to him with just a glance. However,...

F is for FCR #spankA2Z #free

F is for FCR

Okay, what is FCR? It's an acronym for Falls Chance Ranch, a series of DD stories involving a ranch in Wyoming. And as a warning, it is M/M. Well, actually it's M/M/M/M/M. However, it isn't erotic. I'm not even sure how to describe it as I could go on and on and on about it. It deals with the men who live on Falls Chance Ranch, as well others who have lived there in the past. The authors, Rolf and Ranger, are amazing. I don't know if they are psychologists or if they just study it...

E is for Experience #spankA2Z #inspirational #romance #sweet

E is for Experience

Most of us, when we get into a relationship, we have to learn together all the ins and outs through fights, squabbles, and hurt feelings. Wouldn't it be nice to have someone a bit more experienced to help guide you through? It's one of the reasons in my In Hyacinth series that I have the heroes being around 10 years older than their female counterparts. Another reason is it is well known that women mature faster than men.

I enjoy reading books where the hero is older th...

D is for Discipline #SpankA2Z #inspirational #romance #courting

D is for Discipline

I'm sure that surprises nobody, but I'm not talking discipline as is seen in so many modern novels. To me, discipline is more than just a hand across someone's rear end. That is just one form discipline might take. I'm talking about a discipline relationship wherein two people agree on certain principles, created not from some 'rule book' but because those rules help. Arbitrary rules are autocratic and to me, are proof a couple or the HoH in a discipline relationship doesn'...

C is for Courting #SpankA2Z #inspirational #romance #sweet

C is for Courting

That should be no surprise if you've read anything on my blog or read my In Hyacinth series. There's something magical about the concept of courting. I'm not a fan of 'dating'. It reminds me of clothes shopping, having to try on millions of pairs of pants before finding the right fit. Ugh. No thank you.

But being in a community where you court one person over a set period of time, working toward marriage, is a nice little fantasy of mine. I know most consider it old fashioned,...

B is for Brenten #SpankA2Z #inspirational #romance

B is for Brenten

What is 'Brenten' you ask? It's actually the last name of one of my favorite characters. Curtis Brenten is in his mid-thirties, an author, and is disabled, though he rarely lets that get in his way...except for when it comes to relationships. I will admit, I'm not fond of 'perfect' heroes. I like them with a bit of humanity in them, which means they usually have a flaw or two. With Curtis, it's his inability to trust that Deeka will still love him once she's seen his body at i...

A is for Apple #SpankA2Z

It's June 1st! Time for my A post for the SpankA2Z bloghop.

A is for Apple

Sometimes starting with the basics is a good thing because blogging for 26 days in June is a bit worrisome. That's a lot of days to fill.

For me, the first word that popped into my head for A was apple. I love apples, especially the crisp, tart ones that explode with juice when you bite into them. Apple pies, apple tarts, apples covered in caramel, or even just plain. I'm not sure I could meet an apple I wouldn't like - u...
