Fields of Favor
“Then she said, ‘Let me find favor in your sight, my lord; for you have comforted me, and have spoken kindly to your maidservant, though I am not like one of your maidservants.'”
Ruth 2:13 NJKV
Last week I gave you keys to opening doors to destiny-defining favor; we looked at what we could learn from great women of God such as Esther and Abigail.
As we continue to celebrate history-making women throughout this month, I would like to turn our attention to the courage and boldness of Ruth.
“Let me go to the field and glean among the ears of grain after him in whose sight I shall find favor.”
Ruth 2:2
Why did Ruth believe that by gleaning among the grain she would find favor with a powerful landlord?
What can we learn about opening doors to unprecedented favor, provision, and promotion from her example?
“So Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife.”
Ruth 4:13
Ruth understood the Law of Reciprocity and the spiritual forces associated with humility, loyalty, and obedience.
This Thursday, on the 4 Points Broadcast, we will continue to unlock the transformational principles Jesus revealed in His Sermon on the Mount that will forever change the way you approach life.
“Wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you lodge, I will lodge; your people shall be my people, and your God, my God.”
Ruth 1:16
What launched Ruth on her journey to favor and promotion was first her kindness and then her commitment to Naomi and God.
Out of her deep love and compassion for her mother-in-law, Ruth pledged her allegiance to both her people and the God they served “under whose wings [she] sought refuge” (see Ruth 2:12). And here we begin to see the Law of Reciprocity taking shape on her behalf:
“May the Lord repay you for your kindness, and may your reward be full from the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.”
Ruth 2:12
Ruth asked Naomi if she would allow her to go glean in the fields, or “to pick up the stalks of grain left behind by anyone who is kind enough to let me do it” (Ruth 2:2).
Gleaning was a term used to describe the salvaging of unharvested grain that the marginalized poor did to survive. It was difficult and demoralizing work.
But as it happened, she found herself in a field belonging to “a man of great wealth and influence” (Ruth 2:1) who took notice of her.
“Who is that young woman over there? Who does she belong to?”
Ruth 2:5
What many don’t realize is that for you to find yourself in that field of favor, you must first be willing to work the field, even if only to salvage left-behind stalks of grain.
Ruth stepped out in faith, and God met her there.
Not only was she noticed by the owner of the field, but he was a relative of Naomi’s who had heard of her plight. In fact, Ruth’s reputation preceded her.
“I know about everything you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband. I have heard how you left your father and mother and your own land to live here among complete strangers. May the Lord…reward you fully for what you have done” (Ruth 2:11-12).
And the rest is history.
Ruth positioned herself to receive the favor of a prince, and became the great-grandmother of a king—King David.
What simple acts of humility, faith, integrity, and obedience are leading you into your field of favor?
What are the good works you are known by that are positioning you for promotion—and your descendants for greatness?

Open the Door to Radical Favor
“Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her.”
Esther 2:15 NJKV
In last week’s 4 Points Broadcast, we talked about a fundamental key to obtaining favor.
Interestingly, last Thursday was also the Jewish holy day of Purim. This day commemorates when the Jews were saved from destruction as a result of Queen Esther’s diplomacy.
More specifically, because Queen Esther had obtained the king’s favor, she was able to intercede for her people.
“And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight.”
Esther 2:17 TLB
Appropriately, this Thursday, March 8th, marks International Women’s Day—also known as the “UN Day for Women’s Rights and International Peace.”
In fact, many don’t realize that as early as 1955, the entire month of March has been designated as Women’s History Month.
In keeping with celebrating history-making women, I encourage you to listen and share last week’s Broadcast wherein we highlighted the stories of Esther and Abigail.
Click here to listen and share the replay!
This is a powerful and timely message.
You will learn that favor is not only something that is bestowed, but can be obtained.
And you will also learn that a synonym for “favor” is mercy.
“You will arise and have mercy on Zion;
For the time to favor her,
Yes, the set time, has come.”
Psalm 102:13
That word “Zion” has the connotation of something that lacks water or is dried up and parched—something that does not have the ability to produce or sustain life.
Another meaning for Zion is “to lack spirit” or “to be dispirited”—as in those who are discouraged in their faith or hope, or whose prayers and praises are dried up—they have become Zion…they have become dehydrated.
Now wherever there is mercy, there is going to be favor. And favor is like rain to a dry and thirsty land.
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.”
Matthew 5:7
If you want to walk in supernatural favor, show mercy. When you are merciful, God will put massive favor in your path.
Mercy is treating others as you want to be treated. However, mercy like patience, must be exercised. You will be required to show mercy precisely when you feel someone doesn’t deserve it!
Being able to show mercy out of the same compassion Christ showed us will enable you to defy the odds.
“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Hebrews 4:16
If you don’t practice mercy, your life will dry up. On the other hand, as you practice exercising mercy, God will cause you to be favored and to prosper in every area of your life.
Last week we talked about how Moses found favor, but how Esther and Abigail were able to obtain it.
If you want to prosper, obtain favor by showing mercy.
“I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.”
3 John 2
This is a season of favor.
You are going to practice showing mercy and it’s going to become a way of life. You are going to treat people how you want to be treated.
You will no longer be less than merciful—or mercy-less—because every time you are you sabotage your own favor.
Your season of sabotaging your own favor, break through, and prosperity is over.
You are going to sow in mercy and reap in favor. You are going to be one of the most favored in your workplace, business, and industry. You are going to grow large with favor and blessing to become one who disburses favor and blessing.
Showing mercy has the power to change your status and station in life.
Mercy positions you for greatness.
Your ability to show mercy is a destiny changer.
Learn to obtain mercy so you can extend mercy—because the traveling companion of mercy is radical favor!

When the World Unites in Prayer
“His intent was that now, through the Church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms.”
Ephesians 3:10 NIV
Now is the time to unite in prayer.
This Friday, believers in 170 nations around the world will join in prayer for peace and justice.
The World Day of Prayer was initiated in 1887 by Mary Ellen James in Brooklyn New York. It was originally a call for women to unite in prayer for the world, but has since become an international observance among all people.
“All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer.”
Acts 1:14 ESV
Now, more than ever, the world needs the Church to unite in prayer.
Even as we become more interconnected in this digital age, instead of voicing our fears and concerns on social media, let’s voice our faith and confidence in God.
Never has there been a time in history when the Body of Christ around the globe can join together in one faith-filled accord!
Join me LIVE this Thursday at 7pm ET as we gather online for another powerful 4 Points Broadcast!
Together we will explore how the manifold wisdom of God is being revealed in the earth and how you can live an abundantly blessed life as a result.
These are the keys to living with the power and authority God purposed for His Church from the beginning…according to “His eternal plan, which He carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord” (Eph. 3:11 NLT).
“God’s purpose in all this was to use the Church to display His wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.”
Ephesians 3:10 NLT
It is up to you and I to display the wisdom of God…but we must first obtain it!
How do we become “wise as serpents and harmless as doves” (Matthew 10:16)?
Through “heartfelt and persistent prayer” (James 5:16 AMP).
“If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you.”
James 1:5 NLT
It’s time the Church came together and pressed into Heaven for the answers this Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous (what the military terms “VUCA”) world so desperately needs!
The answers will not be found in the halls of academia or government—not within think tanks, committee meetings, or special task forces. And they especially won’t be revealed by journalists, analysts, or social scientists.
“For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight.”
1 Corinthians 3:19 NIV
It is incumbent upon each of us in this day and hour to exercise our faith by asking God for the wisdom we need to expose deception, dismantle strongholds, and unleash divine solutions.
Irregardless of what it looks like in the natural, we know “our fight is not with people. It is against the leaders and the powers and the spirits of darkness in this world” (Eph. 6:12 NLV).
“Our fight is not against people on earth but against the rulers and authorities and the powers of this world’s darkness, against the spiritual powers of evil in the heavenly world.”
Ephesians 6:12 NCV
Likewise, the answers we seek will not be found in people but in God.
What we experience in the earth realm is simply a manifestation of what is happening in the spirit realm. And this is what I show you how to navigate in When Kingdoms Clash.
Battles are raging and the stakes are high; only through prayer will God’s Kingdom prevail.
If you loved The Atomic Power of Prayer book and CD, you’ll want to add When Kingdoms Clash: Strategies for Prayer in the Heat of Battle book and DVD to your library.
We need to become skilled practitioners in the art of prayer and spiritual battle. The whole earth is counting on us to wake up and grow up and step up! (See Romans 8:19.)
When believers around the globe unite in prayer, there will be a major shift in the tide of world events.
Most of us have heard this popular quote by author Margaret Mead: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.”
Imagine what would happen if a large group of prayerful believers engaged their faith in the power of God to flood the world with His wisdom.
Imagine the earth filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea (Hab. 2:14).
When the world unites in prayer, God’s power and wisdom will be displayed!
Now is the time.
“Your faith, then, does not rest on human wisdom but on God’s power.”
1 Corinthians 2:5 GNT

Defy The Status Quo
“But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Matthew 6:33
In last week’s 4 Point Broadcast, we continued our series, Living the Blessed Life, addressing the fourth Beatitude in Matthew 5.
This is a fitting message as we embark on the second week of the Lenten season—a biblical 40-day period consecrated to seeking first God’s Kingdom and His righteousness.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.”
Matthew 5:6
If you are feeling unfulfilled in any area of your life, now is the time to re-evaluate what you are pursuing and realign your priorities.
In fact, if you want to become more, have more, and achieve more, you need to listen to the keys and principles outlined in this broadcast.
Learn how you can level up your life.
I challenge you to whole-heartedly pursue the blessed life Jesus outlined in the Beatitudes—and when you do, everyone you love, and even the world around you, will be blessed as a result!
Each and every one of us have the power to turn the world upside right.
Now is the time to supernaturally break free from the status quo.
Everything in your life and in the lives of those you love can shift by activating this one, simple truth: Fulfillment begins with hungering after God’s righteousness above all else.
You can live an abundantly fulfilled life—you can wake up in the morning and go to bed at night feeling fulfilled.
You can experience fulfillment in your relationships, in your work, in all of your roles and obligations because you have taken care of first things first.
“Morning by morning He wakens me and opens my understanding to His will. The Sovereign Lord has spoken to me, and I have listened. I have not rebelled or turned away.”
Isaiah 50:4-5 NLT
When you make loving God and hearing from Him your highest pursuit, you will live a life of fulfillment above and beyond what you could ask or imagine. (See Ephesians 3:20.)
Fulfillment means you are deeply satisfied because you are living at full capacity when it comes to your ability and character.
Fulfillment happens when you bring your goals, dreams, and aspirations to reality.
Fulfillment speaks to being successful at carrying out a task or duty or role or assignment; it has to do with being satisfied, happy, pleased, untroubled, content, or at ease—living in the realm of peace.
I decree and declare that as you embrace this Beatitude, your days of being discontent, unhappy, and unfulfilled are over!
Today God is empowering you to realize your dreams!
Today God is empowering you to fulfill your purpose—He is empowering you to accomplish your goals.
I decree and declare that every hindrance coming between you and your most fulfilled life is canceled!
I decree and declare that people who have frustrated you will have a change of heart—they will celebrate you as you realize your purpose and accomplish a great goal.
A goal is going to be satisfied in this season—it’s going to be satiated.
Living a fulfilled life begins when you purpose in your heart to pursue righteousness—when you place all of your energies into maintaining a right standing before God.
You must decide every moment not to compromise your Christian values, character, or integrity.
When Adam pursued something other than God’s best for Him—when He was seduced into walking away from his right standing with God—it caused him to fall and all of humanity to live in a state of feeling as if something is missing.
People would still rather sacrifice their right standing with God for things they don’t truly need or should have.
When man fell, the enemy gave him an un-natural appetite.
As Will Rogers once said, “Too many people spend money they haven’t earned to buy things they don’t want to impress people they don’t like.”
“For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?”
Matthew 8:36 ESV
God said you can have all things, including a fulfilled life, when you put first things first.
The level of fulfillment every person is seeking begins with first seeking the King and His Kingdom.
“Jesus said to them, ‘My food is to do the will of Him who sent me and to accomplish His work.'”
John 4:34 ESV
In this generation of believers, God is realigning our appetites—the deepest organic cravings within mankind that motivates and drives us to act or behave or respond in a certain way.
Your days of living with an emptiness are over! You will be blessed beyond measure when you are able to say, “I’m not going to compromise my relationship with God for any thing or any person.
Your days of having nothing to show for your life are over.
Get ready for uncommon favor, for rare opportunities, surprising breakthroughs, stupendous success, amazing wealth, terrific friendships, and a magnificent, miraculous life!
Get ready to break free from the status quo and break into a life of true fulfillment.
“Some people have turned from the faith because of their love for money. They have made much pain for themselves because of this. But you, man [and woman] of God, turn away from all these sinful things. Work at being right with God. Live a God-like life.”
1 Timothy 6:10-11 NLV

Who Has Your Heart?
“We love because He first loved us.”
1 John 4:19 ESV
This week, all over the world, we celebrate two special occasions that have come to be known commercially as Valentine’s Day and Mardi Gras.
Although neither are commonly acknowledged as Christian holy days, they are rooted in the earliest days of the Church.
St. Valentine was a 3rd-century Roman bishop widely known as the patron saint of love.
Church records indicate this beloved bishop was martyred on February 14, 269 by Emperor Claudius II for marrying Christian couples.
Since that time, February 14th has been commemorated as the Day of Love throughout the world.
As we celebrate those we love this week, let’s also celebrate He who first loved us.
It is fitting that this year February 14 falls on the first day of Lent—preceded by Fat Tuesday, otherwise known as Mardi Gras; a church holy day that has been celebrated as Shrovetide, or “Shrove Tuesday,” as early as the 4th century.
The concept of a special shrove day was derived from the ancient word shrive, meaning “to confess.”
“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.”
James 5:16 KJV
For those who didn’t grow up in a liturgical church, you may not be familiar with the significance of Mardi Gras or Shrove Tuesday.
Traditionally, these are days of feasting before the forty days of fasting known as Lent.
Interestingly, Lent is one of the oldest observations on the Church calendar.
The first day of Lent falls halfway between the start of the year and Easter Sunday.
You could consider this a time to reboot your year—a time to re-evaluate your objectives, recommit to what matters most, and most importantly, refresh your soul.
The life of your soul is important to every area of your life. The Bible tells us that you will prosper and be in health to the degree your soul prospers.
“Above all things…prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
3 John 2 KJV
Jesus came that you would have a more abundant life (see John 10:10), beginning with healing and prospering your soul.
Soul healing is one of the pillars of this ministry. It is why I wrote an entire series of books on the life of the soul, beginning with The 40 Day Soul Fast (followed by Reclaim Your Soul and The Prosperous Soul.)
Each of these books is designed as a 40-day journey—perfect travel companions for the 40 days of Lent (all are on sale now in our online store).
Lent is a beautiful invitation to reset your heart on heaven.
I’ve always considered Easter a celebration of new beginnings…when Jesus rose again into new life and made that same resurrection life available to us.
But this week we have another invitation to engage in that resurrection life by seeking first His Kingdom. This is the primary purpose of these 40 days of self-examination, prayer, and fasting.
“Seek first God’s kingdom and what God wants.
Then all your other needs will be met as well.”
Matthew 6:33 NCV
Lent is a time to make sure who (or what) has your heart.
We want to celebrate the people we love most this week, but let’s not fall short in celebrating He who loves us most of all.
Let’s not neglect what should always remain our first love. Might Christ Himself wonder if you haven’t left the love for Him you had when you first came to know Him?
“I have this against you: You have left the love you had in the beginning.”
Revelation 2:4 NCV
This Valentine’s Day, perhaps consider a special confession of love to the lover of your soul.
Like David, may the love letter of your heart sound something like this:
O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
beholding your power and glory.
Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
in your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul will be satisfied as with fat and rich food,
and my mouth will praise you with joyful lips,
when I remember you upon my bed,
and meditate on you in the watches of the night;
for you have been my help,
and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy.
My soul clings to you;
your right hand upholds me.”
Psalm 63:1-8 ESV
This is what we’re talking about in the 4 Points Broadcast. We’re talking about leaning in and trusting exclusively on God.
How do we practically live that out? How do we think, and live, and have our being as His disciples? How does that look in our everyday lives?
Too often we neglect our potential—we forget who we truly are—we lose our sense of identity.
As we celebrate Valentine’s Day this Shrove Tuesday, let’s not be caught sleepwalking through life. Let’s not be guilty of “feeding our appetites while our souls go hungry.”
“We work to feed our appetites; meanwhile our souls go hungry.”
Ecclesiastes 6:7 MSG
I’m reminded of Paul’s admonition in Ephesians 5:14-21 to wake up and make the most of every opportunity at hand. To be circumspect and grateful. To submit one to another out of reverence for Christ.
I challenge you this week to meditate on those eight verses of Scripture, beginning with…
“Awake, O sleeper,
rise up from the dead,
and Christ will give you light.”
Ephesians 5:14 NLT
Make this the week you clarify Who has your heart.

How We Inherit The Earth
“Blessed are the meek,
For they shall inherit the earth.”
Matthew 5:5
Meekness has been increasingly undervalued in today’s world of pretense and hyperbole.
It seems the loud and proud are those who ultimately win the day.
But history tells a different story.
From Lincoln to Gandhi to Mandela to Mother Teresa to Jesus Christ, we know history is made by those who are willing to lay down their lives for the highest good.
As C.S. Lewis so aptly stated:
“Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it’s thinking of yourself less.”
So how do we abide in that place of not thinking less of who we are, but continually thinking of ourselves less?
In last week’s 4 Points Broadcast, we talked about the transformative power of true meekness—and how it is the key to walking in the fullness of our inheritance as heirs of the earth.
When Jesus said, “The meek shall inherit the earth,” He made an irrevocable declaration.
“You will also declare a thing,
And it will be established for you;
So light will shine on your ways.”
Job 22:28 NKJV
The power to declare a thing resides within you. The key is understanding where that power comes from.
And that is the secret of walking in the history-shaping power of meekness.
To be meek is different from being humble.
Meekness is a state of being, while humility is an act of the will.
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves…”
2 Chronicles 7:14
You must “will” to humble yourself.
On the other hand, meekness naturally flows from one’s character—it is a character trait that defines a person’s state of being.
When a particular character trait is etched on to your personality and into your temperament it defines who you are.
The Bible says that not only should you use your will to be humble, but if you choose to walk in that place of humility long enough, it becomes a lifestyle—it becomes ingrained in your character.
The meek are those who recognize where all blessing comes from.
When God created human beings, He gave them control over the earth and left it for their inheritance. But that control was handed over to evil forces. Christ re-instated our position.
And to this day, He remains committed to raising us up individually to walk in that authority.
Jesus stated that those who are meek—who know from where their strength comes—are those who will control the earth.
The meek are those who recognize where their help comes from—where their greatness, their opportunities, their power, their success—and even where their very breath comes from.
“For in Him we live and move and have our being.”
Acts 17:28 NIV
These are the meek.
In Numbers 12:3 we read about how “the man Moses…was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth” (KJV). The word “man” here denotes a state of maturity.
Now Moses was a foster child adopted by the daughter of pharaoh. There was a period of his life when he did not identify with his heritage as a Hebrew.
Yet a purpose deep within him began to kick in and demand to find expression—and it connected him to a people he did not formerly believe he belonged to.
Moses was an intellect, a brilliant thinker, a passionate visionary.
He authored and engineered the infrastructural writings that would govern an entire nation. He was the founding father of a constitution he single-handedly established and delivered to a wayward nation.
Or so it would seem.
As arrogant as he could have been given his great accomplishments, he wasn’t. He recognized where his gifts and intelligence and opportunities and influence came from—and was able to give all of the glory to God.
Moses was very meek.
Whatever Moses did he relied solely on God.
Those of us who are gifted and talented, who are first in our industry; leaders on the frontline—one of the things we have to be careful of is to remember the source of our success.
There are so many people who are smarter, brighter, more beautiful, more talented. Never forget had it not been for the Lord on your side, you would not be where you are.
There is no such thing as a self-made millionaire.
This truth is going to be important for you.
As much as you are tempted to believe that rubbing shoulders with the right people will result in doors being opened for you—you must understand this…
“Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength…Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord.”
Jeremiah 17:5-8
If someone closes a door to you, it only means God allowed that person to be a doorkeeper.
No one has control over your destiny or how much wealth you have or how far you are able to go.
It is God and God alone that is the blesser of any human being.
You don’t have to fight with anyone, you don’t have to argue with anyone, you don’t have to feel as if you’re a victim of circumstances or that somehow somebody is prohibiting you from doing something.
There are no barriers that will separate you from what God wants to give you.
Blessed are the meek.
I am reminded how powerful prayer is; how important it is for us to talk to God—to pray and live a lifestyle of prayer.
And prayer is not always about us asking God for what we need…prayer is a two-way conversation.
As much as you want to talk to God about what’s on your heart, He wants to talk to you about what’s on His.
God wants to reveal the mysteries attached to the Kingdom of Heaven.
A mystery is a strategy hidden in obscurity awaiting the right mind with the right capacity with the right motivation and the right intention.
If God can find that individual who is able to say, “It is less about ‘I’ and more about ‘we’…
“And with this gift how can I advance the Kingdom…with this gift how can I promote the Gospel…and with this gift how can I bless the greatest number of people?”
If you can ask God that, He will give you the earth and the fullness thereof!

The Science of Prayer
“What is faith?
It is the confident assurance that something we want is going to happen. It is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us, even though we cannot see it up ahead.”
Hebrews 11:1 TLB
Today, more than ever, the world is in desperate need of hope.
It is therefore incumbent upon all of God’s people to both possess a deep understanding of how prayer works—as well as the skill to activate and employ it.
They must know who they are in Christ and how to operate in faith.
We must all become knowledgeable practitioners of the art and science of prayer.
Knowledge is power.
In my new book, The Atomic Power of Prayer, I walk you through the science as well as key tactical strategies for transforming your world through the masterful practice of prayer.
Once you understand the mechanics of how prayer works, you can more effectively harness the potential—and even expand the capacity—of your faith.
“By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed…that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.”
Hebrews 11:3 NLT
We are told by the writer of Hebrews that “faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see” (Hebrews 11:1 NLT).
Is there something you need or desire but cannot yet see? Are there dark places in your life or in the world around you in need of light?
Could it be that you are in possession of a reality-altering secret weapon?
According to E.M Bounds, “The ministry of prayer has been the peculiar distinction of all of God’s saints. This has been the secret of their power. The energy and the soul of their work has been the closet.”
I wholeheartedly concur. Prayer is the believer’s secret weapon—a smart bomb detonated from the quiet of remote closets everywhere.
Yet, while prayer might be likened to targeting a stealth drone with explosive power, faith is the detonator.
Hope grounded in faith expands energy.
Many of you don’t realize that when you pray, you are stirring up and amplifying creative energy—the same creative energy that created everything you see: The power of the Word spoken in faith.
It’s all about energy.
Albert Einstein, probably the most renowned scientist to have lived, used what has become the familiar E=mc2 formula to mathematically prove how energy is expanded.
In prayer, when you take a matter and multiply it by the light of God’s Word, you expand energy.
When you turn up your own energetic frequency to engage in prayer, something amazing happens in the realm of the spirit.
Although you may not see it immediately, your prayers are impacting and bombarding the spirit realm—which is the causal realm—inducing spiritual contractions that give birth to what you have conceived and believed for.
When you mix your prayers with faith, Scripture declares, “Whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them” (Mark 11:24).
Every day of your life you are transmitting an energy that creates an atmosphere around you.
You are literally “making waves.”
Some call it an aura, others think of it as an attitude or personal presence. I call it “faith.” Your faith-filled words have power, presence, and prophetic implications with no time or geographical limitations. Conversely, the same holds true when you speak words of fear or doubt.
With your faith “attitude”—transmitted through the energy of your thoughts and words—you are literally altering the very atmosphere and environment in which you live.
Your faith or fear is a force that creates a positive or negative magnetic field.
Like attracts like.
If this energy is faith-filled, you will attract the positive equivalence in physical or experiential manifestations—if it is fear-filled, you will attract the opposite.
If you want to see the quality of your life, ministry, business, or community upgraded, than upgrade the force of your faith.
By faith you can change the trajectory of any given set of circumstances.
God wants you to thrive without struggling. It is your faith that will take the struggle out of life and living. This is why Hebrews 10:38 states, “The just shall live by faith.”
Jesus came so you would have a richer, more abundant life (see John 10:10)—and your God-given agency to pray is the mechanism by which you activate the abundant life:
“In fact, it says, ‘The message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart.’ And that message is the very message about faith that we preach: If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved” (Romans 10:4-10 NLT).
Did you get that? What you confess with your mouth becomes a reality; even your eternal salvation is sealed by your simple confession of faith. This is the simplicity of the Gospel.
You must have faith in the God who created you—that you are not a glitch, a mishap, or a random product of your environment. You are much more powerful than that.
You were created with great purpose and power—with the very nature of God (see 2 Peter 1:4) and the mind of Christ (see 1 Corinthians 2:16)—to “be strong, and carry out great exploits” (Daniel 11:32).
You are God’s power broker.
And it is through prayer you broker that power.
In the earth realm you are the agent—”the emissary, envoy, proxy, go between.” You represent heaven on earth as Christ’s ambassador; it is up to you to proclaim God’s will in a given situation.
Prayer activates your divine potential to change the course of history.
You don’t have to live as a victim of circumstances. Through prayer—declaring God’s Word in faith—you can alter the very atmosphere, climate, and environment in which you live.
Your prayers make a difference.
“How many will he find on the earth who have faith?”

Living On the Boundary of Breakthrough
“You’re blessed when you feel you’ve lost what is most dear to you. Only then can you be embraced by the One most dear to you.“
Matthew 5:4 MSG
Here we are, already four weeks into 2018!
For many, this is that time of the New Year when the shine and sparkle of “new beginnings” starts to fade—when the excitement of new possibilities begins to wane.
It can be easy to feel discouraged when so soon after the starting line it seems you’re already falling behind.
You are not alone.
By the end of January, 80% of those who’ve set new goals for the year ahead have already given up on them!
They have already lost hope that change is possible…because they don’t know how to live on the boundary of breakthrough.
“Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.”
Matthew 5:4 NIV
In last week’s 4 Points Broadcast, we talked about what to do when you don’t know what to do.
You learned how to find your footing when you fall—how to get your legs back underneath you when it seems you’ve lost it all.
Listen now on demand to learn how to navigate in times of transition or frustration.
If you’re feeling stuck, now is the time to make your declaration of dependence—now is the time to declare your trust is exclusively in God!
In our 4 Points Bible study, we’ve been studying some incredible truths Jesus unlocked in the Beatitudes.
The Beatitudes represent a declaration of dependence on God.
“God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory.”
Philippians 4:19
God knows what you need. He sees you right where you are.
When the rug is pulled out from under you, God will help you find your footing.
You are never, ever alone. God will not leave you comfortless: He will always come when you call. (See John 14:18.)
“The Lord, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.”
Deuteronomy 31:8
The Beatitudes are an acknowledgment of everything we go through in life; they are given to encourage you and let you know you’re going to defy all the odds.
They are promises outlining all that is possible with God…all so you’ll be able to testify that God turned you around and firmly planted your feet on the ground!
This is God’s Word. His Word secures your breakthrough just when you feel you’re suffering a break down!
What you’re going through has to do with where God is taking you!
The American Heritage Dictionary defines breakthrough as “a sudden, dramatic, and important development that leads to the achievement of success in spite of previous challenges, opposition, barriers, setbacks, or failures.”
In this Beatitude, where Jesus states “Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted” (Matt. 5:4), He is talking about breakthrough—that breaking point where you’re going to break through.
Yes, you may go through the mourning process, but you will awake comforted; because even while you are sleeping, God is working on your behalf.
“Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning.”
Psalm 30:5
You are no less a person of faith because you have an emotional moment. God made you a spiritual being, but He also made you an emotional being.
Just because you have those emotional moments doesn’t mean God has left you!
Here is something I’ve come to discover:
We are all perfectly imperfect.
And I’ve learned that it’s in our imperfect moments that the perfect power of God is made available.
This Beatitude affirms that in such a moment you’ll be able to call on the Comforter…and the Comforter will most certainly come.
God is always there in the midst of your pain.
He is always right there with you. Hard times don’t have to harden you, but they can strengthen you. You can learn to say “try me” rather than asking “why me?”
Come to understand that the issue is never you, rather the issue is with your problem-solving strategy.
Problem-solving strategies are necessary when you’re in the midst of transition…because when you’re in that in-between place of defeat and victory, that process defines your transition.
Grief is nothing but transition.
We often make a mess of our life in the midst of transition.
We all have those moments when we ask “What is wrong with me?” We question our identity, sanity, relevance, significance, strength, intelligence, faith, and conviction.
But God is not afraid of the question…
“Ask, and it will be given to you.”
Matthew 7:7
The problem is not whether you’ll get an answer; the problem is with the kinds of questions you are asking.
Don’t curse the answer, change the question!
Rather than asking, “Why did this happen to me?”…ask, “How can I get through this?”
God is a God of strategy.
And He is the God of all comfort. When you’re in the midst of mourning, that’s where God is going to comfort you with strategies.
If you ask Him, He will give you the solutions you need.
Right there in the midst of your loss, that’s where you’ll find you are living within the boundaries of your greatest breakthrough.
Listen now on demand to discover how you can know when you’re in the midst of transition, the five promises that will see you through it, and the five things you can do when you don’t know what to do.

Dream for a Change
“Let what is fair roll down like waters. Let what is right and good flow forever like a river.”
Amos 5:24 NLV
This week in the United States, we commemorate one of our nation’s most influential history makers: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
King’s history-making legacy began with a God-inspired dream.
He dared to dream of a society governed by truth and justice—where righteousness flowed through the land like a river.
This is what the prophet Amos proclaimed God wanted more than anything else.
“Do you know what I want?
I want justice—oceans of it.
I want fairness—rivers of it.
That’s what I want. That’s all I want.”
Amos 5:24 MSG
Dr. King allowed God to dream through him.
He took the dream God seeded in his heart and boldly declared it on August 28, 1963, at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC.
He gave hope to millions during a dark time of conflict and confusion. His words are as relevant today as they were more than half a century ago:
“Let us not wallow in the valley of despair, I say to you today, my friends.
And so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.
I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.'”
This country was founded on a dream. It is in the DNA of this nation to dream of a better, more just future for every person.
And it remains incumbent upon each American to continue that legacy by carrying those dreams forward.
We need leaders who know how to dream for a change.
I challenge you this week to reignite the dreams God once sparked in your heart. Begin now to set dream-inspired goals for the year ahead.
Wherever you are in the world, God is calling you to dream again.
And remember that whatever your circumstance, God is using it to fulfill His dream for you; whether a pit or cave or prison or wilderness or pigsty, He will use it to position you for greatness.
Join me this Thursday for the 4 Points Broadcast to learn more.
Now is the time we need ordinary people to rise up and lead extraordinary change.
Martin Luther King, Jr. was such an ordinary person. He was the middle child of middle-class parents who joined the school debate team, sang in the choir, and delivered newspapers.
He went on to college and then seminary, and completed his doctoral studies in 1955. Only nine years later, he won the Nobel Peace Prize. He was just 39 years of age when he was struck down by an assassin.
Today, the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial sits on the sightline linking the Lincoln Memorial to the northwest and the Jefferson Memorial to the southeast.
What set King, Lincoln, and Jefferson apart was their capacity to dream.
I want to help you increase your capacity to dream for the benefit of this and future generations.
In my new book History Maker, you will find the guidance, inspiration, and strategies you need to arise and take your place in creating transformational change.
To that end, I am making History Maker available to our subscribers for only $11.99!
Learn how to dream for a change!
As Paul told Timothy, “Do not neglect the gift that is in you” (1 Timothy 4:14).
Now is the time to press into heaven in order to tap into the dream God has for you. You can begin today positioning yourself to take your place in making history.
Because history belongs to the dreamers.
“There are those that look at things the way they are, and ask why?
I dream of things that never were, and ask why not?”
– Robert F. Kennedy

The Mindset of a Dreamer
“Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you your heart’s desires.”
Psalm 37:4 NLT
Our theme for the year is “Dare to Dream in 2018!”
We’ve been talking a great deal about the power and significance of the dreams God seeds in the hearts of His people.
Because I believe this is so important, I wove stories and lessons from history’s dreamers throughout my new book History Maker.
A dream is a place of genesis—from where ripples of hope go forth to create the currents of change which shape history.
“There are those who look at things the way they are and ask, ‘Why?’…I dream of things that never were and ask, ‘Why not?’”
—Robert F. Kennedy
Bobby Kennedy was a dreamer.
In June of 1966, speaking to students at the University of Cape Town in South Africa, he famously declared:
“Each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of this generation.”
Around this same time in the United States, the Civil Rights Movement was being propelled forward by one man who also had the courage to dream.
Martin Luther King, Jr. boldly proclaimed:
“I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight, and that the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together. This is our hope.”
“Every valley shall be exalted
And every mountain and hill brought low;
The crooked places shall be made straight
And the rough places smooth;
The glory of the Lord shall be revealed,
And all flesh shall see it together;
For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
Isaiah 40:4-5
“Today, we need voices of hope to inspire, renew, and enrich the human conscience. We need individuals who will carry that hope to those who have lost hope. We need to be willing to do the work within ourselves that will enable us to dream bigger, think more expansively, and conceive of new possibilities—to imagine what has not yet been but could be, and then doggedly believe that it can be.” (History Maker, p. 32.)
In last week’s 4 Points Broadcast, I taught about the Joseph Principle and how to cultivate the mindset of a dreamer.
We continued our discussion of the Be-Attitudes (see Matthew 5:3-12) and how these nine paradigm shifts position you to think like the dreamer God created you to be.
The Beatitudes represent a Kingdom-oriented mindset.
The message of the Kingdom is a message of empowerment that gives meaning, hope, dignity, and purpose to every human being.
The Beatitudes inform us that our lives are not dictated by something external, but by what is internal—our attitudes.
“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 2:5
Your viewpoint, perspective, paradigm—that faculty of conscious thought—the way you settle on your thinking or feeling about or toward something; these are the ideas that frame your opinions or your orientation to life.
When we talk about the “Be Attitudes,” we are talking about your inclinations based on your understanding of the position you hold in Christ Jesus.
Everything is an integral part of that word “attitude”—in fact, everything we are in life rises and falls on our attitude.
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.”
Philippians 4:6
In His Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:3).
The Kingdom of Heaven is different from the Kingdom of God.
The “Kingdom of Heaven” is God’s rule through man in the earth realm, while the “Kingdom of God” is God’s rule over all of His creation.
God has bequeathed the earth to us, and the state of the earth is predicated upon the state of humanity—so the more we are able to fix the human being, the more we are able to fix the world.
The world doesn’t need fixing, but human beings do.
Once we get the “man”—or humanity—right, then the world will flow accordingly.
When Jesus said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit,” He was making a declaration of our dependence upon God as the ultimate Benefactor. He and He alone is your provider.
“Ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.”
John 15:7 ESV
We’re encouraged to ask and keep on asking; to seek and keep on seeking; to knock and keep on knocking. (See Matthew 7:7.)
A lot of people make a declaration of independence from God. These people call themselves Atheists or Agnostics or Humanists who believe everything is reliant upon what they do.
Your declaration of dependance determines where your life flows and where your life goes in Christ—it’s a declaration that you believe God, you depend on God, you trust God; that your hope is in God.
When we speak of the Beatitudes, we’re talking about a mindset: the attitude that no matter what the circumstances you know you’re going to be blessed—you know that you’re going to be favored, happy, healthy, privileged, esteemed, honored, and enviable!
“The Lord will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom.”
Deuteronomy 28:13-15
Imagine what would happen to your mind and emotions if every day when you woke up—and then no matter what happens to you throughout the day—you knew in every moment you were unequivocally blessed.
You knew without a shadow of a doubt that you were favored, happy, healthy, privileged, esteemed, honored, and enviable!
Imagine people looking at you wishing they were you…
and all as you give glory to God.
The Joseph Principle operates upon the foundational truths Jesus taught in the Beatitudes.
If you haven’t already listened to last week’s 4 Points Broadcast, be sure to listen now on demand.
These nine declarations remind me that God has a place for me, a space for me, a grace for me, a race for me, a pace for me—that I’m not forgotten, and that all things are working together for my good. (See Romans 8:28.)
Like Joseph, dare to dream and trust that God will bring it to pass.
“Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.”
Matthew 7:7 NLT
