Wired For Greatness
“He has given us promises. These promises are of great worth and no amount of money can buy them. Through these promises you can have God’s own life in you.”
2 Peter 1:4 NLV
The journey of a thousand miles does not only begin with the first step, it begins with the first step of faith.
Faith takes you into the unchartered terrain of greatness—and the road of every great life requires navigating this terrain.
If you think that greatness is not for you, think again.
You serve a great God who has great plans for your life.
Whatever you are currently thinking you are capable of, think bigger!
Never settle for a “this-is-good-enough” mentality…because once you do, you will live an average, mediocre life; a life that lacks luster.
Today I want to remind you that mediocrity is not in your genes—you have greatness seeded in your DNA.
You are wired for greatness!
You were knit together in your mother’s womb to accomplish great things!
You were born into the earth to have an impact on the world—to help shape events and the experiences of those around you.

How you see the future is contingent upon what you believe is possible for you.
What do you believe about your potential to live the life you’ve imagined?
Vision is simply a matter of how you see yourself in the future. Just like when you go to the movies, a vision is a divine announcement of “coming attractions.”
If you are able to imagine a potential outcome, that outcome is within the realm of possibility for you. If this were not so, you wouldn’t be able to imagine it.
God does not play games with your mind.
He will never give you a desire to do something and not empower you to do it; nor will He give you a vision and not provide the resources, ingenuity, determination, or insight necessary to make it a reality.
“The one who has faith can do all things.”
Mark 9:23 NLV
Whatever you focus on and truly desire, be it a vision, dream, or goal, with faith in God’s enabling power—“His power that is at work within [you]” (Eph, 3:20 NIV)—you will achieve it!
Get rid of your mediocre, go-with-the-flow mindset. Tap into the greatness residing within you!
It’s all a matter of what you choose to focus your thoughts on; things as they are, or as they could be..
Your focus is subject to your mindset and paradigm of success
A “good enough” mindset is the most destructive type of mentality because it will never challenge you to expand your horizon, think outside of the box, or break out of a don’t-rock-the-boat state of mind.
The status quo is popular because it requires no discipline—nor does it require you to grow spiritually as you progress and prosper.
Vision brings you into a higher spiritual plane of growth and development.
Your spiritual growth will lead you into realms above and beyond what your natural mind can imagine. Likewise, when you can imagine more, you know you’re growing spiritually.
A God-inspired vision always calls you higher.
Elevating your life to higher realms of power, influence, and affluence will require you to pull away from vision assassins who either don’t believe in your greatness or are intimidated by it.
Leveling up requires the courage to boldly embrace your own potential and all God wants you to be.
If life were a game, it would demand you to get off the sidelines and onto center court!
A life of greatness will require you to grab the ball and run with it!
Get rid of your wishful thinking. Get some skin in the game. Put feet to your dreams.
Your future is filled with unlimited opportunities so go for it! You are wired for greatness! You were born for this!

As my friend and featured guest at Women Who Shape Our World, the accomplished Soledad O’Brien states,
“I’ve learned that fear limits you and your vision. It serves as blinders to what may be just a few steps down the road for you. The journey is valuable, but believing in your talents, your abilities, and your self-worth can empower you to walk down an even brighter path.”

Say “Hello” to Your Tomorrow
“I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can see something of the future He has called you to.”
Ephesians 1:18 TLB
In exactly four weeks from today, my new book, Hello Tomorrow! hits store shelves!
Now, more than ever, people long to feel as though they have a voice—a self-determining voice that puts them in the driver’s seat of their own lives.
There’s no force more powerful than a God-inspired vision.
If you want to find your voice and make it heard, you need a vision.
A God-inspired vision enables you to see beyond what naturally is to what is possible in Christ.
When you are able to capture that vision in your mind’s eye, you will see the supernatural transpire in your life.
Vision is the bridge between today’s reality and tomorrow’s possibilities.
The spirit realm is the causal realm. A vision aligned with God’s promises is how you bridge what’s possible in heaven with what transpires on earth.
If you want to radically transform your life and future, learn to think like a visionary.

You can move from being an everyday dreamer to becoming a world-shaping visionary by stepping out of your comfort zone.
Have the courage to imagine what may seem impossible today and then put yourself there in the tomorrows of your future. Remember, your feet will never take you where your mind has never been!
People who live extraordinary lives are people who have extraordinary visions.
Bravely go in your mind where your feet have never been. Boldly imagine yourself as the influencer or entrepreneur or advocate or policymaker or innovator you have the divine potential to become.
Be willing to take the risk of writing what you’ve imagined in vivid detail—and then courageously imagine yourself running with it!
“Write the vision and make it plain…that he may run who reads it.”
Habakkuk 2:2
You will never know what outcomes are possible until you are willing to take the risk of committing your vision to paper.
Crafting a vision for your future will stretch you. It is part of the capacity-building process that is required if you are to live an empowered, destiny-driven life of meaning, purpose, and legacy-leaving significance.
Crafting a compelling vision is both a vital spiritual discipline and a powerful spiritual force.
When we talk about writing a vision, we’re talking about you tapping into the mind of God and asking Him, “What is the impact you intended me to have in this life?”
God wants to show you the hope He has for the future He created you to shape. All He requires of you is to frame it with the power of your own ability to see it—or envision it.
God told Abraham:
“Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see is yours.”
See Genesis 13:14
The first thing about writing a vision is a willingness to look beyond the present into the future.
Visionaries are imagineers—they use their imagination to figure out what the end of a year is going to look like….and then the end of two years, ten years, twenty years, and thirty years. They have the ability to look beyond the horizon—northward, southward, eastward, and westward—beyond where they are right now.
A vision does not take into consideration present circumstances.
Sir Winston Churchill said, “History shall be kind to me for I plan to write it.” He boldly said he was going to write history, and then he did.
When you start writing a vision for your life, you begin to write history.
It takes courage to have faith—it takes courage to not only believe God is instructing you, but to believe you can accomplish what He’s put in your heart to do.
A visionary has faith in who God wired them to be.
A vision is God’s appeal to you to stir up latent gifts, abilities, talent, and potential that are hidden on the inside of you within a certain time frame.
If you cannot see yourself living beyond where you are, you will never enter the future God has prepared for you. You always have a choice to say “yes please!” or “no thank you.”
Seeing yourself in that place on the other side of your current circumstances is a decision—just like faith is a decision. You must choose to see yourself in the future you dream of!
You cannot seize what you cannot see.
Tap into God’s dream for your life!
God is not only the giver of the vision, but He is the enabler of the visionary—and He’s going to enable you and empower you to bring that vision to pass.
I wrote Hello Tomorrow! because I believe vision is vital to living an abundant, empowered life.
Writing a dynamic vision for your life is the first step in becoming an influential world-shaper.
A clear and compelling vision will act as your anchor, rudder, and sail—it will provide you with a compass that will keep you on course.

Boldly Shape Your Future
“Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.”
Proverbs 4:25
How far could you go if you put your mind to it? If you fixed your eye on a future you want to see.
How could you shape the world if you harnessed your best ideas, focused your energy, and whole-heartedly explored what you are truly capable of?
“Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.”
—T. S. Eliot
We live in a time ripe with opportunities for those willing to push the envelope, who refuse to march in step with the status quo; the revolutionaries, disruptors, and change makers.
Those willing to break rank, break through boundaries, and break the mold are the ones who will shape the world of our future.

Ultimately, the world belongs to those willing to shape it.
The average person is not willing to take the kind of risk that is required to be an influencer.
If you are going to shape the world, let alone your own future, you must be willing to take risks—you must be willing to leave the familiar behind.
“History favors risk-takers.”
—Iveta Cherneva
The average person is perpetually distracted by what I call “common chaos” because it provides a familiar busyness that feels safe and self-justifying.
Risk takers are men and women of faith who are not afraid to go out on a limb.
I’m reminded of Jesus who invited Peter to take the risk of walking on water. And even though Peter eventually began to sink, he was not afraid to take the risk.
“So Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water toward Jesus.”
Matthew 14:29
Risk takers are water walkers; they leave the shore of comfort and the realm of the familiar to navigate the sea of unlimited possibility. They are willing to cast their nets into the deep.
The world was built by people who took risks: Pioneers who were not afraid of the wilderness; scientists who were not afraid of being ridiculed; thought leaders who were not afraid of progress; politicians who were not afraid to challenge the status quo; entrepreneurs who were not afraid to ask, “Why not?”; dreamers who were not afraid to risk taking action.
Risk is a consequence of action taken in spite of uncertainty.
If you’re going to establish anything that is new; create anything that is new; innovate anything that is new—if you’re going to make an impact, it’s going to take some degree of risk.
The American Heritage Dictionary defines risk as “the possibility of suffering harm or loss” or “the potential of losing something of value,” yet I discovered risk is also defined as “intentional interaction with uncertainty.”
When you take a risk, you are risking a potential uncertainty—an unpredictable, un-measurable, uncontrollable outcome.
But let me ask you this: What if that outcome is not necessarily something negative?
What if the outcome is unprecedented success, prosperity, and happiness?
Would you take the risk then?
Many people have a “want to” in their spirit, but they allow fear to immobilize them because they are always asking, “What if it doesn’t work out?”
But what if it does?
What if stepping out of the boat or investing in that venture or simply speaking up changes the game for you and those you love?
How can you become that game changer that opens up new possibilities for everyone?
This is what shaping the world is all about—it’s why I’m passionate about equipping you to change the game for those around you as well as future generations to come.

Preparation for Acceleration
“For many are called, but few are chosen.”
Matthew 22:14
When God calls, will He find you ready for your mission on the earth?
Throughout the lives of the great Bible heroes, we see two distinct events occurring: being called and being separated.
“Now separate to Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”
Acts 13:2
Paul had been called to the work of God since before he was born (see Gal. 1:15), but would not be separated into that calling until he became the person able to walk in that calling.

There is always a time of preparation during which both study and prayer are major components.
Where will you be when God comes to you with His greater plan for your life?
Will you be ready to step into it, or will you need to be schooled on the backside of the desert like Moses—or go through a humbling process as rigorous as Joseph’s?
The difference will always be determined by the quality of your prayer life.
When God found Saul (who would become Paul) on the road to Damascus, He found a person full of religion and knowledgeable of the Scriptures, but ignorant of who God really is.
Saul was so zealous for “righteousness,” he was willing to instigate murder to protect religion as he knew it.
The ultimate truth is not found in religion, it is found in Jesus.
Certainly we can learn from religion as a way of pursuing God, but we must come to Jesus to truly understand God.
Paul could have wasted his entire life trying to please God in his own way, but when he met Jesus, everything changed. Paul turned his zeal to prove himself into becoming a man of prayer hungry to know Jesus through the Spirit and the Word.
Because Paul sought Jesus with such intensity, it was to Paul that God revealed the architecture of the Church—and not one of the other apostles. This is why Paul was the primary writer inspired by God to pen the New Testament.
What changed in Paul?
We read about it in Acts 9, immediately after he encounters Jesus on the road to Damascus: “He was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank” (Acts 9:9).
Though it doesn’t say it directly here, I can’t believe Paul only fasted during this period. I believe for the first time in his life, he also began to truly humble himself and seek God.
In Galatians, he adds, “I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood” (Gal. 1:16), inferring that his initial years as a Christian were not in being taught by the disciples, but…
…being taught by Christ Himself through prayer.
Though it is possible Paul may have heard Jesus speak in person, there is no historical record of it. I think Paul would never have been the persecutor he became had he ever met Jesus in the flesh.
And because he was the only early apostle who didn’t know Jesus as a human being, his role became a foundational one.
Like those who would follow in the centuries to come who could not walk with Jesus as Peter, John, and the rest of the disciples had done,
Paul would be the Apostle who best understood the nature of the Church—
—the fellowship of all the people to come who could only know Jesus through prayer and the Bible.
Though meeting Jesus face to face on the road to Damascus changed the direction of Paul’s life forever, it was no overnight transformation.
It would take roughly seventeen years of prayer and study for him to become the man we know as Paul, the Apostle to the Gentiles. (See Galatians 1:18-2:1.)
Thus we see two distinct events occurring in the lives of our greatest Bible heroes.
There is a point of calling and a point of launching into that calling.
We see there is always a time of preparation in which intimate, consistent prayer is a major component.
For Paul, as it had been for Joseph, that preparation happened after the first major revelation from God—Joseph’s dream as a teenager vs. Paul’s encounter with Jesus on the road to Damascus.
For others like Daniel and David, that preparation in prayer would happen before their initial callings were recognized—when David was anointed by Samuel and when Daniel was called before Nebuchadnezzar to interpret his dream.
“Called-Out” Ones
The word for Church in the New Testament is the Greek word, ἐκκλησία, which can literally be translated as “the called out.”
If someone is called out of something, someone must be doing the calling. In this sense, the word ἐκκλησία has the connotation of being an assembly of those called out by a king to hear his vision for how his kingdom should be.
Each person in the assembly has a unique calling or responsibility to fulfill in that kingdom.
Every individual has been called to fulfill a place and a job that no other member of the group can fill.
With the world in its current state, every individual who confesses Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord should at some point arrive at a place of seeking, understanding, and conforming to the unique calling God has for him or her.
This is the first and therefore most important purpose of prayer.
We can know about salvation through the preaching of the Word—and many other important things about living in the Kingdom—but God’s individual plan for each life can only be revealed and confirmed by those who seek Him in Spirit and in truth.
This is why I have spent years developing and expanding Kingdom School of Ministry. I believe it is so important that believers not only recognize the value of their calling, but receive the preparation they need to fulfill it.

Breaking free from mediocrity will require you to get in step with the leadership of the Holy Spirit—and getting in step with the leading of the Holy Spirit will require you to chase after impossible dreams…
If we don’t rely on God’s abilities and wisdom every minute of every day to accomplish what He has put in our hearts to do, then we will always play small.
Faith is the key to taking the lead.
Faith in what God can do through you is how you turn this world upside right.
God will infuse your heart with His desires when you turn to Him—He will stir within you the ideas and insights you need to shape the world around you.
“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
Psalm 37:4
If you are a child of God, you are led by His Spirit (see Romans 8:14), but it’s wholly up to you to tune into that Spirit.
This is what separates those who defy mediocrity from those who sleepwalk through life. You can remain among the masses held captive by the status quo, or you can follow the lead of God’s Spirit into the fullness of your potential.
You can’t be led by someone you rarely hear from.
Your level of faith is contingent upon your level of prayer.
In his book, Just Courage, Gary Haugen speaks of the calling and work of Mother Teresa:
“Mother Teresa said that she couldn’t imagine doing her work for more than thirty minutes without prayer. Do you and I have work that we can’t imagine doing for thirty minutes without prayer?”
If you don’t rely on instruction and strength from heaven for what you are doing throughout the day, then who are you really working for?
How can we overcome the problems our world faces without the power of God?
If what you are seeking to accomplish does not require you to pray hourly, could what you are striving to achieve be of any real significance?
After being baptized by John, the first message Jesus preached was on what the Kingdom of God is all about. In Luke 4:18-19 we read:
The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.
Today poverty still cripples the vast majority of the nations of our world. There are still people that go to bed hungry every night and don’t have access to clean water. Because of this, their children are often sick and many don’t live past the age of five.
Selfishness and oppressive circumstances still break apart families, lives, and hearts every day. Slavery and sex trafficking are more prevalent than ever in the history of the world—and much of it involves children.
Sickness, disease, and disabilities are still not a thing of the past. Murder and religious, racial, political, and economic oppression still ravage neighborhoods, nations, and continents.
Christ came to do much that still has not been done.
We must learn to effectively pray that…
we would be one with each other even as we become one with Jesus,
we would know His glory and power and see it manifested upon the earth,
we would exude His love so that everything we set our hands to will prosper.
As members of God’s family, we not only have the right but also the duty to go to our Father and ask for His plans, strategies, and resources to fulfill our mission, assignments, and purposes upon the earth.
Prayer is the conduit that not only reveals the will of God for our individual lives, but also helps make us the people we need to be to do the impossible.
It’s time to plug into that power like never before.
Learn how you can accomplish the impossible at Kingdom School of Ministry July 15-21.
It’s not too late for you to declare your independence, break free from mediocrity, and step up into all God has for you to do!
Now is the time to lead for a change!

Upgrade Your Dreams
“Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that…Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.”
Galatians 6:4-5 MSG
As we approach the half-way mark of 2018, I challenge you to check in with your dreams…
Are you where you hoped to be six months ago—back when you dreamed of all that was possible in the year ahead?
For those of us living in the Northern Hemisphere, summer is in full bloom, which seems to bring a fresh opportunity to cultivate a new harvest of possibilities.
What are you planting in your field of dreams?
This is the perfect time to take stock of the dream garden you’ve planted and notice whether it’s flourishing—or if it needs some tending to.
Are there signs of your dreams beginning to sprout, or have they been choked out by the weeds of distraction—smothered under daily obligations—overtaken by thorns of “busy-ness”?
Perhaps those dreams you planted at the start of the year are simply in need of some watering.
Be “alert to the condition
of
your
lives.”
Hebrews 13:17
Ask God to show you where you’ve let your dreams “turn to seed” and how you can re-till the soil of your success.
Or ask Him to help you increase your capacity to dream bigger—to give you a larger field to cultivate as Jabez did:
“O, if only You would bring good to me and give me more land!”
1 Chronicles 4:10 NLV
Where is your faith holding you back?
How would you dream differently if you fully understood the nature of the Dream Giver?
How would you change what you asked for “if you knew the generosity of God” (John 4:10 MSG)?
“God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or dream.”
Ephesians 3:20
Whatever dreams you feel have withered on the vine, it’s not because they’re too big or out of reach for you!
If you put your trust in God, He’ll put His desires in your heart—so whatever your heart desires you can trust God to fulfill. (See Psalm 37:4.)
Ask God to plant a bigger dream in your heart.
Today I want to encourage you to dream again—to believe again.
What once stirred your heart that you have silenced? What have you put on hold?
Whatever you’re currently thinking about doing is probably too small—so as you read this, I challenge you to dream bigger!
God will never tell you to do something you don’t have the potential to do.
For the next 30 days, lay aside just 15 minutes a day to tend to the terrain of your dreams.
Write down your dream for the following seven areas in a notebook—it will be your “Dream Book.”
If you clarify and write down your dreams, God will bring the resources.
By the end of this year, six months from today, write about how you would like the following seven areas to look:
What is your dream for your…
1) Marriage — or your significant relationship in your life? If you’re still looking for that special relationship, write down in detail what you dream of that person being like.
2) Children — or the special young people in your life? Who do you dream of them becoming? And with that in mind, how do you dream of them progressing in the next six months?
3) Health — whether you dream of overcoming a health challenge, or improving your fitness. Write down your dream for how you want to feel six months from now, as well as how you want to look.
4) Legacy — or the lives you want to impact? Whose lives will you have positively influenced six months from now and in what ways?
5) Inheritance — or the material things you plan to bequeath to the people and causes you care about? Begin to dream now about the philanthropic or charitable impact you hope to make.
6) Education — or level of learning. How many books are you reading in a week or in a month? How many are loaded on your phone or device? Are you being strategic with the time and tools at your disposal?
7) Calling — or career? How will you have advanced by the end of this year? If you study your industry for just 30 minutes a day, you will become the go-to expert in your field!
Invest 15 minutes each day writing about your dreams, dreaming about your dreams, and strategizing about your dreams—and then by faith put energy into making those dreams a reality.
Dreamers are world changers and history makers.
It is people with dreams who change the trajectory of humanity.
Learn to cultivate your dreams. Your dreams could be what make all the difference in this world.
If you need to revive your capacity to dream, join me for Kingdom School of Ministry July 15-21. It’s the perfect mid-year reboot to get you back on track with God’s big dreams for you…
And then take your dreams to another level at the

She Who Shapes the World
“Then Hannah prayed: ‘My heart rejoices in the Lord! The Lord has made me strong.'”
1 Samuel 2:1
Women have always been shaping the world.
Just because a person doesn’t have a title or a label or a position doesn’t mean that they’re not in leadership.
There is no one in the universe who has not come through the womb of a woman.
When woman was created, she was created to be a problem solver.
The Bible says it was not good for man to be alone, and therefore God created woman to solve a problem and meet a need.
“I will make a companion…a helper suited to his needs.”
Genesis 2:18 TLB
Today’s marketplace is fertile soil for those who can Solve problems, Address issues, and Meet needs—an acronym I’ve often heard referred to as S.A.M.
Women don’t struggle with opportunity—they struggle with identity; they struggle with knowing who they are and how they’re wired to succeed.
Join me LIVE this Thursday at 7pm ET for the 4 Points Broadcast!
In this week’s 4 Points Broadcast, I will continue to unlock the divine potential hidden in your DNA.
When a person reaches outside of themselves to find solutions, they are enslaved by those solutions. When they reach on the inside, they are liberated.
Everything you need to succeed has been loaded within your unique genome.
You read your genome—your DNA—like a book.
Jesus said, “Behold, I have come—in the volume of the book it is written of Me” (Hebrews 10:7). He wasn’t referring to a physical book; He was referring to what had already been written about who He was in His DNA.
If you reach on the inside, you’ll find out your DNA is encrypted with a message about your identity, similar to the words written in a book.
When a prophet prophecies over you, he is reading from the pages of a book.
He or she is talking about something you already are. Everything you need to succeed is encrypted in your DNA.
This is what potential is all about.
If we learn to turn to the Creator, we’ll find that each one of us has been given a purpose to fulfill on the earth.
God told Jeremiah:
“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:5 KJV
And Jeremiah responds, “I cannot speak for I am a child” (1:6)—but then God said, “Say not I am a child!” (1:7).
Why?
Because the words you speak move molecules, and molecules have memory.
Your words create something like a train track that goes out into the world in the realm of spirit. But then that same train track brings a response back around—the same thing you’re saying returns to you as an experience.
Who do you say that your are?
Jesus asked His disciples, “Who do people say that I am?” He knew there was some brand confusion about who He was in the marketplace. (See Matthew 16:13-14.)
As a result, Jesus spends the rest of His life making a series of “I” statements.
Likewise, if you don’t make a series of “I” statements, you will forever live with a series of “you” statements—what other people say about you.
As a woman who shapes the world, never get confidence mixed up with arrogance.
Just because you announce that you’re strong and you’re great and you’re powerful, doesn’t mean you’re arrogant; it simply means you know who you are.
Refuse to allow someone else’s insecurity to be projected onto you!
And don’t turn to people for guidance who’ve never been where you’re trying to go.

The Power of Intention
“Which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it?”
Luke 4:28
Destiny for many people is a mystery, especially as it concerns how we should live in regards to what God has planned for our lives.
However, destiny goes beyond just what God has planned—it is about making decisions that are in sync with that plan.
Too many live reactively rather than proactively.
We must become more proactive if we are to express God’s plan for our lives in such a way we impact our world as ambassadors of Christ.
We each wrestle with what we should do, what’s right, who we should invite into our lives—how we should best manage, say, do any number of things.
…which of you intending…
This is the Law of Intention.
The word “intending” here is the Greek word thelo, which means “to will, to purpose, to determine, or to resolve.”
When it comes to making quality decisions, these are resolutions—intentions you resolve to fulfill.
Your future is an act of will, not an act of skill.
Too often we say we don’t have the education or experience or expertise—we tell ourselves we lack the necessary skill.
However, making a difference, doing something better, or being able to improve the quality of your life is not a skill, it’s an act of the will.
“Which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost?”
Luke 14:28
If you intend to do something, you will sit down and give that intention some thought—you will go from intention to serious thought.
People don’t have the future they dream of because they don’t put enough thought into it. They allow other people’s thoughts to determine where they are going.
As you think in your heart, so you will be.
What you think about yourself—what you believe is possible for you to become, do, or have—is exactly what you will be, do, or have for no other reason than these are your thoughts! (See Proverbs 23:7.)
The verse from Luke goes on to say that only after counting the cost would a wise man build. The intention followed by thought therefore is proceeded by action.
When it comes to your life, this is how destiny is birthed; it flows from these three dimensions:
Intention — Thought — Action
Destiny flows from the dimension of thought…manifesting itself as a product of intention…expressed as an action in obedience to the Word of God.
These are three processes by which you make life decisions that either maintain or alter the path you take in life. Directing your destiny requires deliberate thought, intention, and action.
Destiny is a matter of intentionality; not your skill, but your will.
I think about the woman with the issue of blood in Matthew 9:20-22. The Bible says she had been fighting twelve long years for her health.
One day she happened across Jesus and she said to herself, “If I may but touch His garment I shall be made whole”—an intention which produced the thought, “I will reach out to receive healing.”
Scripture says her intention led to an action—“she touched the hem of His garment”—and when she acted Jesus said, “Your faith has made you whole.”
“A woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. For she said to herself, ‘If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well.’ But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, ‘Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well’” (Matthew 9:20-22 NKJV).
Here we see the three elements clearly represented: Intention, Thought, Action.
When you intend to do something heaven conspires with earth to bring the necessary resources to bear for your plans to become reality.
People who try to do something never do; you must intend to do it.
Look at Genesis 22 where Abraham fully intends to sacrifice Isaac in obedience to God.
Here we see that just because God asks you to do something, it doesn’t mean He will require you to do it. It’s when you fully intend to do something heaven conspires with earth on your behalf.
When you intend to do something, God considers it done.
At the very moment you intend to obey is when your blessing is activated.
To live into the fullness of your divine destiny, align your will with God’s will concerning you.
“Therefore do not be foolish and thoughtless,” Paul wrote the Ephesians, “but understand and firmly grasp what the will of the Lord is” (Ephesians 5:17 AMP).
“For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.”
Philippians 2:13

Unlocking the Mystery of Destiny
“Today I ask heaven and earth to be witnesses. I am offering you life or death, blessings or curses. Now, choose life! Then you and your children may live.”
Deuteronomy 30:19
In our last 4 Points Broadcast, we talked about how to activate the blessings of God—and in the process, how to unlock your divinely-intended destiny.
This week, we will continue to explore the geography and terrain of your destiny.
Don’t miss this week’s 4 Points Broadcast LIVE this Thursday at 7pm ET!
We are in our new series, “The DNA of Destiny.”
For many people, the concept of destiny is an elusive mystery out of the scope their control or influence.
“Destiny is not a matter of chance; it is a matter of choice. It is not a thing to be waited for, it is a thing to be achieved.”
Willian Jennings Bryan
Simply put, your destiny is where you end up tomorrow.
Scripture demonstrates that destiny is not a matter of chance—it is a matter of obedience.
“To choose life is to love the Lord your God, obey him, and stay close to him.”
Deuteronomy 30:20
Where you end up tomorrow is a result of the decisions you make today—those decisions are the bridge that connect your present to your future.
Because your destiny is directly associated with the decisions you make, you must take one hundred percent responsibility for your life.
Wherever you end up tomorrow is on you.

Learn How To Access God’s Financial Provision
“Remember me, Lord, when you show favor to your people…that I may enjoy the prosperity of your chosen ones.”
Psalm 106:4-5
For many people, achieving financial prosperity seems like wishful thinking…maybe you feel the same way.
You’ve dreamed of getting ahead, but never seem to be able to move beyond simply paying your bills.
Understanding the principles of Kingdom Economics and Biblical Finance—one of the eight paradigm-shifting courses I’ll be teaching at Kingdom of School of Ministry July 15-21—will empower you to prosper.
Contrary to common perceptions in the Body of Christ, God wants you to prosper!
Throughout Scripture, we see that God not only gives His servants opportunities to prosper, He also delights in their prosperity.
Indeed, the King’s children shall enjoy the wealth of the wicked (Proverbs 13:22), live an abundant life (John 10:10), prosper (3 John 2), and succeed (Joshua 1:8).
Firmly grasping the rules that govern this discipline equips believers to not only take authority over their own wealth, but to also tap into the limitless resources available for Kingdom growth and advancement.
“Follow the terms of this covenant, so that you may prosper in everything you do.”
Deuteronomy 29:9
The fundamental principles that release God’s provision to His people are clearly outlined in His Word.
Throughout the Bible, God uses everyday examples to illustrate these laws, yet we sometimes miss their significance because we don’t live in the cultural context of that era.
The blessings listed in Deuteronomy 28 are a case in point. Here you’ll find a wealth of insight about financial prosperity and how to grasp hold of it.
“The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand.”
Deuteronomy 28:8
Even as Jesus spoke to the people about material possessions—“One’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses”—the agrarian use of storehouses was key to understanding what He meant.
As outlined in the writings of Moses, the Hebrews farmed and measured what they needed each year in terms of storehouses. These storehouses were where they housed and kept their produce safe until another harvest could be gathered to replenish the previous year’s storehouse.
According to God’s dictates, farmers would plant a field for six years and then rest the land during the seventh to give it a Sabbath—in the same way, they worked six days each week and took the seventh off.
This cycle required the farmer to have the equivalent of three storehouses.
To make this simpler, let’s use one commodity—such as grain—to represent all that the farmer, his family, his workers, and his livestock would need to survive one whole year.
The farmer would build one storehouse in order to hold all that he and his estate needed to survive for the year, pulling from it slowly as was necessary. He would sell some to buy provisions in the marketplace, but otherwise, they lived off of what he’d saved.
As all farmers know, there are good years and there are bad years.
If a farmer only kept one storehouse and his crops failed for any reason from drought to locusts, then he would have nothing to feed and maintain his farm until another crop could be harvested.
Worse than that, he would have no seed to plant. So the farmer would have a second storehouse for seed to plant in case of crop failure, and a third reserve storehouse to sustain him while the next crop grew.
In the sixth year, before they were to rest the land for a year, God would cause the land to produce threefold, so that they would have enough in store for the year of rest, enough leftover to plant the following year, and still more to live off while that grain was growing.
Storehouses were there to catch the extra blessing of God.
This way, the grain wouldn’t be spent all at once and not be available for when it was really needed.
So, the Israelites were used to living with at least three storehouses of grain at all times. This was the responsible way to live—with two or three years of income stored away to cover their needs. To have less was foolhardy; to have more was unnecessary.
Two to three years of reserves was all the grain they needed at all times unless there were catastrophic problems like multiple years of drought, war, or famine.
Wisdom dictated they have at least three storehouses…
…faith and their relationship to God would take care of the rest.
This tells us that the people whom Jesus spoke to were accustomed to having more than enough at any one time.
They were so used to this, in fact, that it was something that was in the background of everything Jesus said about God’s provision—He never had to mention it because it was a given.
People didn’t live hand-to-mouth unless they were beggars. They didn’t spend this month’s paycheck to pay for this month’s rent or have to wait until payday to buy groceries because they had nothing in their “checking account” (yes, bank accounts are a form of storehouse).
Storehouses set very real limits.
There was only so much grain in the storehouse—once it was empty, there was no more.
In that respect, storehouses are very different from bank accounts today. If we need more, we can always borrow—and that is where many of us get into trouble.
When we get used to using short-term credit card debt to fill in the gaps from the end of our paychecks to the end of our months, we begin to think of our credit card limits as where we need to stop spending, and for anyone who starts bumping up against those on a regular basis, debt becomes an almost inescapable trap.
That is why budgeting is so important.
Each budget category is like a storehouse, if we keep our budgets correctly. When the money in that category is gone, we stop spending until another check arrives and we have more to put into it.
If you follow the advice of money teachers such as Dave Ramsey or Larry Burkett, you will have little “storehouses” for your monthly spending—what they call the “envelope system.”
This works by labeling envelopes for all of the most important expenses each month—such as the “four walls” of your house: 1) rent/mortgage and utilities, 2) food, 3) clothing, and 4) transportation expenses—putting money into each at the beginning of every month or week, and then never spending more on those expenses than are in the envelopes.
At the same time, our budgets should include bigger “storehouses” for things such as an emergency fund, a college fund, a fund for health and car insurance, and a retirement fund for the day we can pay ourselves to do what God wants us to do.
The more wisdom you can obtain in this area, the better.
When Jesus tells the parable of the Rich Fool in Luke 12:16-21, the audience He spoke to knew that storehouses were important for survival. They knew they had to save in order to have several months of reserves in case of calamity.
At the same time, they knew that whatever they had beyond that amount was more than enough—and could be used to build God’s Kingdom and help others.
Today, we should have the same mentality of saving.
We should not only have money to take care of ourselves no matter what we face, but also, because we’ve predetermined the size our storehouses should be, whatever else can be given away or invested in others.
As Deuteronomy 28:8 makes clear, God blesses you and everything you set your hands to when you follow His mandates for how to manage your money—or, rather, His resources.

“Abundance isn’t God’s provision for me to live in luxury. It’s His provision for me to help others live. God entrusts me with His money not to build my kingdom on earth, but to build His Kingdom in heaven.”
