Sexapalooza, Columbus, Ohio

Piper Trace and me
Last Friday I spent the evening in Columbus, Ohio, at the Sexapalooza show. The show featured booths of venders, fashion shows, pole dancers, and a couple bars. The lighting was dim and "moody" as you can see from the picture of Piper and me.

I arrived at about 7 pm. My first decision, try one of the custom Sexapalooza Martinis. It came in a fun, line green martini glass, but I asked for mine in a plain plastic cup. Ever try to walk around a trade show holding a full martini glass? I have. Don't try it.

There was a pretty good variety of venders. I was disappointed that there wasn't a wig vendor. Wigs are sexy and fun, so why not?

With Marchae GrairThe EC booth was right across from the stage, so we had a great view of the stage. First up was a fashion show, then burlesque dancers. After the professional dancers, show attendees were invited to come up--my favorite part! The three women who snatched up the opportunity to dance in front of the Sexapalooza crowd were awesome. Very sexy and fun. I loved it.

While the show was going on, we had a constant stream of people coming by. At first I was signing with Jane Rylon and then Piper Trace. After the signing, I had a blast chatting with Marchae Grair. We were sitting inside the EC bus, laughing each time someone popped in. Apparently, sitting in the front seats of the bus, talking in the dark, isn't something people do often enough because every person who opened the door stepped back, made a surprised face, then apologized for coming in. After about the fifth time, it was pretty funny. After a quick pic outside the bus, I headed home.

Pin Me Practical

Who knew pin-up girl art had a practical application?

I'd seen pin-up girls on the noses of WWI and WWII aircraft but didn't know they had an official term when placed there: nose art. Nose art on planes started for practical reasons, identifying friendlies (but geez, think how close you had to be to see it??), but evolved to reflect the personality of the pilot and to remind soldiers of home--and the pretty girls waiting there, apparently. The art was done by both professional artists and talented civilians. A bit of searching around on the internet convinced me there is wide variety in the quality of the pin-up girl art on the planes, but I can see how it would boost morale, which I guess was the point. Who wouldn't be inspired by a cutie pie in heels?

New Year!

4 1/2 Stars for Now or Never from LASR

Thistledown from Long and Short Reviews, had this to say about Now or Never, Book #1 in the Invitations Series:

Daniel is wearing Randall’s costume and is in Emily’s sites from the get go. The erotic dance that comes next will have you blazing finger trails on your e-reader and writing down this author’s name for future amazing stories. The lusty romp through the woods and the surprises that await the eager lovers are worth waiting for.

There wasn’t a thing about the book that I didn’t like except maybe a little spanking here or there as a party favor would have been fun. This book leaned more toward general erotica but it did have some light BDSM overtones. The dialog was good, the action moved you along fast and the sexual tension was delicious.
