FUN: You won't ever not pay attention in class Most witty man you'll ever know He changes your perspective about certain things we know like heroes and stories He gives you amusing facts about heroes and the like You will never regret taking his class You get to play Pinoy Henyo and charades for bonus points in the long test His long test is per row, meaning one representative will take the long test for one row (he chooses which person will take the test) He's an easy C+, hard to get higher unless your papers are really high. Paper almost every week but they are all short (1-3 pages) I think he's not teaching next school year though HAHA. If ever he still is, GET HIM. You will not regret it.

Virgin of Balintawak
opinion.inquirer.net
Balintawak to a 21st-century Pinoy is a part of Quezon City marked by an LRT station, or the entry point or first stop in the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx). Balintawak can also refer to a single-stick fighting style of Philippine martial arts (eskrima or arnis), as well as the colorful rural costume...

Many of us draw water from a faucet these days, imagine having to draw water from a well and carry it home in an earthenware pot or palayok balanced on your head.

This is not an early advertisement for Golds or Fitness First. Flexing their muscles are National Artist for Sculpture Guillermo Tolentino (center) and his assistant Anastacio Caedo (third from left) who later claimed his winning form was used as the basis for Tolentino's iconic UP Oblation.

In a former life I signed three Cultural Agreements for the Republic of the Philippines with the Peoples Republic of China: the first in Foshan, China in 2005 and two more in 2006 in Manila during the State Visit of Chinese Prime Minister Wen Jiabao. Im now happily retired from government and enjoying the quiet of academic life.

My Inquirer column today on the eclipse will surely be eclipsed by columns and articles on the rambling Corona testimony and walk-out yesterday.

Padre Faura’s eclipse
opinion.inquirer.net
Monday morning in Tokyo I went to the car park of a nearby hotel to join people waiting for the solar eclipse scheduled for 7:30 a.m. (Japan time). Spring with its variable weather isn’t the best time for viewing a solar eclipse but after a brief rain the clouds cleared, providing the cheering crowd...

There was a time when our fractional currency, amounts below one peso, were in coins that carried the profiles of our heroes. This one was one of the first in aluminum that was said to be so light it would float on water. Well, creative Pinoy tailors discovered that punching holes in them made cheaper substitutes to plastic buttons for shirts and pants.

After watching the annular solar eclipse this morning I remembered the first director of the Manila Observatory Fr. Federico Faura, SJ who not only predicted typhoons, he warned Rizal he would die in the gallows. This is the face behind the Manila street name "Padre Faura."
