The first round of auctions at the [info:] help_haiti fundraising community is over tomorrow, January 20. My auction for the signed hardcover of Wheel of the Infinite is here, and the high bid is currently $50.00.

The Crossed Genres Magazine Post a Free Story for Haiti page now has a section for stories in Portugese. If you read and enjoy any of the stories listed, please consider a donation for Haiti. My story is an adventure fantasy, Houses of the Dead.

New Short Story

I just posted Houses of the Dead to my web site as part of the Crossed Genres Post a Story for Haiti effort.

It was first published in Black Gate #12, July 2008. It's a Giliead and Ilias story, one of the prequel stories to the Fall of Ile-Rien trilogy.

Not on his paws or on his mouth, just his legs. I can't find a wound on him, the other cats are fine, and there's no unexplained dead bodies around. I washed him off in the bathtub (no, ...

Troyce's case of strep throat is better, and the ice melted the other day and it's back up to a more normal 60. That's a big relief.

For Christmas, a friend gave us a folding kitty tent:

Bookends: A Discussion of Sell-Through One of the biggest problems, arguably, is that publishers still allow for returns. That means a bookstore can order 5,000 copies of your book, not dedicate any time or effort to sell it, and return any or all copies that don't sell to the publisher.

This weekend Troyce got sick with something that sounds a lot like strep throat. He's going to the doctor (if he...
