Old news...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1e4FUhfHiU&feature=related
It took this father of atheism a lifetime to work out that if things are made, there must be a Maker. With due respect, it really is the ultimate "duh." Obviously, as death came close and as the ability to enjoy the life that godlessness offers, Anthony Flew was able to use his God-given brain for the first time with this issue, and figured it out.
"Flew's volte-face on the existence of God was all the more remarkable given the volume of his writing in the atheistic cause and his vehement denial of internet rumors in 2001 that he had renounced his atheism. His response was entitled Sorry To Disappoint, but I'm Still an Atheist! In 2007, however, he was able to publish There is a God: How the World's Most Notorious Atheist Changed his Mind."
He changed his mind, because he thought.
Younger atheists fight such common-sense thinking, tooth and nail. For them, the foolishness of atheism is a hill to die on, because it gives temporary license to the pleasures of fornication, pornography, adultery, homosexuality, etc. This is why so many professing atheists embrace as a drowning man the unscientific, unprovable, unthinking, theory tale of evolution. For them, it fills the gap for their purposeless existence.
Yet, tragically, Anthony Flew didn't publically embrace the Savior. He simply acknowledged how wrong he had been for 50 years; something for which he should be greatly admired. Take his advice. Look around. Open your eyes. Think. Change your mind.

Bible buffet...

The Bible is like a fiddle. You can play any tune you want with it, if you want to. For example, Psalm 14:1 clearly says that there's no God. Such "buffet" reading of the Bible is called "twisting the scriptures" to your "own destruction."
Try reading Ecclesiastes 9:5 in the context of the whole book--especially the conclusion of Solomon's philosophy about the futility of life, because of the reality of death.
Here is his conclusion: "For God will bring every work into judgment, including every secret thing, whether good or evil" (Ecclesiastes 12:14).
Please repent (confess your sins to God and turn from them) and trust the Savior for your eternal salvation. That will give you the proof you are not looking for.For Evangelism Resources, please visit LivingWaters.com.

An Atheist's question...

You are right. God is perfect and He has no lack. He doesn't "need" love. You don't "need" it either. You can get along not loving a soul, and having no one love you or show you any affection. But don't you enjoy being loved? Weren't you made to love and be loved? This is because you are created in the image of God, who is love.
The day will come when your kids will love someone more than they love you. Of course that shouldn't anger you. It should make you happy. You don't want your kids hanging around your house for the rest of their lives.
Let's now add something to the mix that is missing in the analogy. Would you be okay with it if one your kids spat in your face, cussed you out, said he hated you, and then raped a neighbor's child and brutally murdered her? Then he viciously cut the throats of your own elderly parents? You may still love him, but I'm also hopeful that there would be some sense of anger at his actions.
You may think that the analogy is an over-exaggeration. But it's not. This is because God is absolute moral perfection, and any sin (even in thought) is of great offense to Him. Our failure to put Him first in our affections is rooted in the sin of ingratitude. It is to spit in His face, and our multitude of sins have greatly angered Him (see John 3:36). If you would like to see how much He has been offended, and the consequences of our actions, read the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7). For Evangelism Resources, please visit LivingWaters.com.

Something for atheists, on Sunday...

This man's "slave" was sick. So did his master undo his shackles, lash him 100 times as punishment for being ill, and then throw his still live body over some cliff? No, this wasn't an African American who was a victim kidnapping, and of the cruel American slave trade. This was biblical slavery...nothing to do with skin color or with being kidnapping, as slaves were in American history. Biblical slavery most often came as a result of debt. If you got yourself into financial trouble, you could work the debt off as a "bond-servant." Nowadays, you can either forfeit your debt to another by declaring yourself bankrupt, leaving the person to whom you owe money, high and dry. Or you can liquidate your assets and pay off as much debt as you can.
In the past, if you couldn't pay your debt you would be imprisoned, and held in what was called debtor's prison until you or your family could satisfy your creditor's demands. In the middle ages, these prisons were often a large communal cell where both men and women lived in filthy conditions for months or even years. It all depended on the size of the debt. However, the Bible gave those in debt the ability to pay off their debt in time, and to then regain their freedom.
Look at the owner's love for his slave. If you ever saw the amazing movie Ben Hur, you got a glimpse of the relationship between owner's and slaves. Ben Hur's slaves had their own quarters, were treated with great respect, and were faithful to their master.
So those who say that God endorses the cruel practice of slavery should study history, and see the difference between slavery in American history and the bond-servants of the Bible. For Evangelism Resources, please visit LivingWaters.com.

From Richard Gunther

This obvious link between a writer and Hollywood is related to the headline "Hollywood box office slump continues" which to me proves equally obvious that Hollywood is not so much interested in entertaining people as with indoctrinating them. Despite the industry's financial losses, which it could easily reverse, it continues to ram its sick philosophies, immoral ideas and violent or twisted ideas into the market.
Take "Glee," "Black Swans," and "The Kids are All Right" for example. None of these films even cracked the top 49, but Hollywood decided people had to be exposed to the sick ideas regardless of whether there was a financial loss involved.
On the other hand "Toy Story 3" made 21 times more money than "The Kids Are Alright," which is about two lesbians trying to raise children.
Toy Story 3 made $415,004,000. This was more than all four R-rated nominees for Best Picture combined. That's a lot of money for a morally upright movie.
I think the numbers indicate that audiences are not attracted to immoral or violent movies. In the top 17 movies of 2010 not one was rated R. Obviously, if Hollywood was really interested in reversing its losses, it would make more movies with wholesome, family-friendly themes, but apparently Hollywood would rather lose money and pump filth than clean up its act and follow the higher road. For Evangelism Resources, please visit LivingWaters.com.

An Atheist's Question...

I don't believe that God created Adam with the capacity to sin "because He didn't want him to be a robot." The argument that love must be a choice, and that's why God gave Adam a free will, doesn't hold water with me, although many believe that.
Obviously, we will not be able to sin in Heaven. The Bible makes it clear that nothing evil will enter the Kingdom of God. No liar, no thief, no adulterer, etc. If that's the case, why will we then not be "robots" for eternity? It would seem that that God is going to have something non-robotic. So why then didn't He do that in the beginning, with Adam? It sure would have saved a lot of suffering and pain.
I don't have an answer, and I'm fine with that. Although, I'm sure that you won't be happy with that. That's because you lack trust in God. I have plenty and it will carry me through until I will get an answer to every question I have. That will happen on the other side of death.
You don't have trust in God, but you do have trust in Darwin's theory, your professor's words, scientist's beliefs, atheism, modern evolution, dating systems, history books, planes, and of course your own fallible judgments. So, transfer that trust to your Maker and He will give you everlasting life. But make sure you genuinely repent before you do so, or nothing will happen. You can be sure of that. For Evangelism Resources, please visit LivingWaters.com.

Racial Prejudice...

It's amazing that you write off 1.3 billion people because you think their medical practices are foolish. Did you know that the FDA approve drugs that come from stranger things than shark fins? Did you know that many Westerners swear by broccoli, cabbage, mustard greens, garlic and turnips as cancer cures?
Yep, the Chinese should sit at the U.S. and Canada's feet (your country) and use maggots and leeches in medicine.[1] "A new study, which will feature in the International Conference on Biotherapy being held in Los Angeles, has established that using maggots, leeches, and intestinal worms as an alternative to the pills may cure infections and allergies. The research has been headed by Dr Ronald Sherman, an ex-infectious infection expert at the University of California in Irvine."[2]
But let's talk more your country, Canada. That's the place where you can mix up Sheep Sorrel herb, Turkey Rhubarb Root, and Slippery Elm Bark for a cure to cancer.[3] Canada also says "A simple inexpensive four herb tea that cures cancer? Even AIDS maybe? This has been a critical concern since Essiac tea was introduced in Canada during the early 1920's."[4] Ohh that's right, Canada! That's the place where maggots, leeches, tea, etc. cure cancer.
I think you are exhibiting the same closed-minded prejudice that will clearly shut you out of the Kingdom of God…unless you soften your hard heart.

Atheist Comments on the Death of my Friend...

"Nice morbid picture of the bicycle. Why didn't you just get his autopsy photos and post it on here. That would be much better for your fear-mongering preaching style."
"That video is a great example of Ray Comfort once again showing himself up for the parasite that he is."
"You claim he's a friend and yet you exploit his death in order to spread lies and deceit. You're despicable Ray."
"Jack LaLanne just died too Ray. What kind of ghoulish sermon can you come up with for that?"
You asked for it, so here it is:
Jack Lalanne died this week. He is the father of the fitness guru's, who emphasized the importance of regular exercise and of juicing. For years I wondered if he would keep his great physique and his good looks (because of his disciplined lifestyle), but he didn't.
He lasted an amazing 96 years, which is pretty good. But one of my neighbors made it to 100 years and she didn't work out, loved fried eggs, white bread, cake, donuts, candy, and she drank unfiltered water. My son-in-law's dad is going strong. He's not at all into health food, and I filmed him recently dancing at his 100th birthday party.
Arnold Swartsenaggar said that Jack Lalanne "left the world a more healthier place." That's a nice thing to say about him, but I wonder what he meant. Two thirds of America's population are overweight (fat), and more than a third of American adults are obese (really fat).

Instead, I go by humanity's Instruction Book: "For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come" (1 Timothy 4:8).
Jack Lalanne worked out for two hours a day, even into his 90's. He once boldly said of the evangelist Billy Graham, "Billy Graham's for the hereafter. I'm for here now."
Not any more.
