Giveaway is finished

Hi readers,

The Dreamer's Pool giveaway is closed and the winners (two from the USA and one from Canada) have been notified. Winners, I put your books in the mail this morning, but as they are coming from Australia you will have to wait a while. A big thank you to all who entered. Better luck next time!

Dreamer's Pool

Yay! The Australian edition of Dreamer's Pool, first novel in the Blackthorn & Grim series, has been released this week. Dreamer's Pool has been getting some wonderful reviews in literary journals, on writers' blogs and from readers. I am hoping very, very much that readers will love this series as much as I do.

The Perth book launch took place on October 2 and was a great success. We have a second event at Stefen's Books in Shafto Lane on October 4 from 11am.

Adelaide and Brisbane readers, I'll be in your cities in late November for Supanova. Please dress up in your finest, and come and chat to me and the other fabulous Supanova authors. I'm happy to sign multiple books, ancient copies etc.

Sydney readers, I will be signing at Galaxy Bookshop on Saturday December 6 from 11-12 (I may be there until 12.30 depending on numbers.) And then I will be celebrating the launch of Once Upon a Christmas at the Children's Bookshop with a bunch of other authors - I have a story called 'In the Inglenook' in this anthology. That's at 1.30pm on Saturday Dec 6. Once Upon a Christmas would be a great Christmas gift for book-loving children of primary school age.

US readers, I have not forgotten you! Your edition of Dreamer's Pool, a gorgeous hardback from Penguin, comes out on November 4. It will also be available in e-book, and later in paperback. The US edition should be available for purchase from Europe and other parts of the world via the usual online retailers.

And please note, if you've read this far - the deadline for B&G book 2 is uncomfortably close and I am writing hard, so will be slow to reply to messages for a few months.

Upcoming travels and events

Hi all, and apologies for the lack of recent updates - I've been swamped with work. Only a month now until the release of Knopf's gorgeous hardback of The Caller in the US!

I will be travelling in September and may take a while to respond to messages. I'm attending the Historical Novelists Society conference in London, and then hunkering down somewhere quiet to get a lot of work done in peaceful surroundings.

Perth readers, there will be a launch for Dreamer's Pool at the South Perth Library on the early evening of Thursday October 2. Details of how to book for this event will be provided soon. You'll be able to purchase copies of Dreamer's Pool at the launch, courtesy of Stefen's Books.

Brisbane and Adelaide readers, I will be a guest at Supanova in both cities in late November - I'm looking forward to meeting you and signing your books. Copies of Dreamer's Pool and The Caller will be available for purchase.

Perth signing and lunch for THE CALLER June 7

Perth readers, you are invited to an event at Stefen's Books in Shafto Lane, Perth CBD, to celebrate the release of THE CALLER's print edition.

On Saturday June 7 I'll be signing, chatting and reading (on and off) between 11am and approx. 12 noon, and afterwards everyone is welcome to have lunch with me at The Generous Squire on the other side of the square (at your own expense, sorry!)

If you'd like to attend, please hop over to the Event page on Facebook and let us know so we have an idea of numbers.

Publication dates - fresh info

THE CALLER: The Australian print edition will be released in June 2014. The Australian e-book edition is already available.

There has been some confusion over the release date for the US edition from Knopf. My publisher is double-checking for me. When the advance copies went out, I was advised by a contact at the publisher's that the book would be released on July 9. However, it now seems it may after all be Sept 9. I will post here as soon as this is confirmed either way.

DREAMER'S POOL (BLACKTHORN & GRIM Book 1): October for Pan Macmillan's Australian edition, November for Penguin's US edition.
