dark-brown, dark brown
Sometimes in writing, I know what the new “style manuals” say and I know how I like it (and how I’ve been doing it for years). They don’t always match. IE: dark-brown, dark brown.
To me there is no wrong way. But, curious, this new – style. Which do you like? dark-brown, dark brown?
Another example is the s’ or s’s usage. These depend on which style guide you follow. I’ve come to the conclusion, there really isn’t a wrong way.
(lol if I have to change, I will) Yeah, these are the types of things we writers over-analyze.

Thank you editor may I have another
Oooh, edits came back early. Guess what I’m doing today? I think I’m excited because Dragon Lords 8 is one step closer… SQUEE!
I’m very lucky to be working with such a great editor on the Dragon Lords projects. Someone who gets your writing style and the world is very important in the creation of a book. Just as important is someone who is not scared to state their opinion and call you out–even if it is to make you verbal justify and reason why you did what you did. Often this can lead to better clarification to the reader.
There have been times in the past that my publisher assigned editor as I come to a new place hasn’t meshed with me as an author–that’s not to say they’re bad people or bad at their jobs, just that we’re different when it comes to the vision of a book.
So, thank you editor may I have another (aw, come on, you got the Animal House reference, right?) I love you and your writers’ whip.

Would someone bring me coffee?
I’m not complaining, I mean every author LOVES it when the muse lets the words flow. But in the middle of the night? Up to 3AM again. #TheDragonsQueen
Would someone bring me coffee?
She didn’t even let me get to the sleep part. She just kept me working through bedtime. LOL I’m going with it. We all know that the muse is the boss. You take her inspiration when she gives it.

READERS VOTE: What do you want to be called? part 2
READERS VOTE: What do you want to be called? part 2
A few weeks ago you all got together and started throwing out ideas for what you as Michelle M Pillow readers wanted to be called. (Remember? Mandy Roth has the Rothheads. Raven has the Ravenettes. Other authors have minions…)
After careful consideration, and a lot of feedback–thank you for the posts & emails–it has been narrowed down to two very fun choices.

Superbowl vs Puppybowl
So…. I had to google who is playing in the Superbowl because I really had no clue. That’s how in the writing cave I’ve been. I am more likely to watch the puppy bowl than Superbowl.
Though I did see a commercial of a dog/horse romance so I’m not too out of the social loop. LOL
WIP: Dragon Lords 9: The Dragon’s Queen
WIP: Dragon Lords 9: The Dragon’s Queen — This really wonderful royal pain in the um heroine kept me up to 3am writing her story. 3. a. m.
Apparently, she slipped some cash to my muse, because early this morning random phone calls started, not important, not anyone I love of want to talk to. Just random, like a car dealership (twice! – two different guys, same place) trying to get me to trade in my car. I can only take this to be the muse’s way of making sure someone wakes me up to work, but doesn’t really need me for anything.
Well played, your majesty, well played.
What’s everyone else doing today? Because her highness is making sure I’m not slacking.

WIP: Dragon Lords 9: The Dragon’s Queen
Work in Progress Update:
I would like to take a moment to yell at The Dragon’s Queen. Her insistence to have a longer book is making my schedule tighter, lol.
On the plus side (?) she kept me up to 3am writing it.
