I wrote this story 1992 after my volunteer position as Regional Advisor for SCBWI in 1989, For 10 years before storytelling, I weeded and trimmed plants with my best friend Janet; we handled about 24 gardens in our neighborhood. We learned about weeds planted by clients. Weed seeds even grew in the dark.
