Robin Bowman and "It's Complicated-The American Teenager"

These portraits are from photographer Robin Bowman's astounding book, It's Complicated: The American Teenager 
In a five-year journey, Bowman created 419 "collaborative" portraits. More of Bowman's  images are up on the website, where the book–now in its third printing– is available for sale.
I am not sure who is more fortunate –– we who meet America's teenagers through Robin Bowman's engaging portraits or these young adults who have found a deeply compassionate artist.

Michael Moore caught the Dodge in Benicia, CA. AL has posted a 1954 Dodge 'Job-Rated' pickup from Alberta. And a weathered 1952 Dodge ("Off the Patina-Meter") in Saskatchewan.

Citroën's electric Ami

 

Rosemary Burwell saw the p'tit Citroën in La Spezia, Italy. The tiny electric Citroën Ami is supposed to be introduced to the US market, according to Auto Week: "Citroën’s Ami, the small EV that costs around $6,000, is coming to the US as part of new EV subscription service. Free2Move, a car-sharing and subscription service the PSA group launched in Europe, now falls under the Stellantis Group following the merger with FCA. For a monthly fee you get access to their vehicle fleet, including some Citroën and Peugeot EVs.

1976 BMW 2002.

  A nimble little car compared to American beefcake of the period, but no speed machine, unless you were down for the fuel-injected and tuned tii edition. Here'a 2006 piece in Motor Trend on the 2002, which was introduced in 1968. A lot of numbers in that last sentence. We posted a 1968 2002 a while back. And a BMW 1600 convertible, up in Maine. And yes we did catch a BMW 2002 tii up at Fresh Pond. And a wonderfully retuned BMW 3.0 CS in N. Carolina.Autoliterate welcomes new contributors! ca.2005 Toyota Land Cruiser

We're not good on guessing year or era on Land Cruisers, but we do feel they get less handsome, and more Ford-like bulgemobile, as they get newer. (Can something get newer?) We caught a 1986 Land Cruiser in the same Cambridge MA neighborhood a few weeks ago. And a 1990 in Inman Square.
