1972 Saab 95

The other Swedish wagon. Quirky, sturdy cars. We caught this unit at Motorland in Arundel, Maine where it is for sale.

Vauxhall Victor, Saskatchewan

From Alex Emond: 'This little English relic was in a vacant lot in Lafleche , Sk. . It is a left-hand drive, however. The design seems to mimic a 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air  but it is a much smaller car . Not much power under the hood I am guessing. Wouldn't take much to restore... and if you put a newer 4-cylinder engine in it you'd have an affordable little runabout.'AL remembers a bunch of these in Canada; however the dependable Datsun 510 spelled the end of the North American market for British 'economy' cars. We posted a 1959 Vauxhall Victor Super a few weeks ago.

1970 Dodge Dart Swinger 340

We saw this car in Cambridge, Mass. Tight space meant less than stunning photographs.  Hemmings has a good piece on the 340 and other pocket rockets of the era.

1995 Ford Bronco

Someone's doing the care and feeding of this almost 30-year old truck, which we saw on Deer Isle. Last month's Bronco was a '78.

1945 Chevrolet pickup, Saskatchewan

From Alex Emond, in Saskatchewan: "Back in Swift Current, I espied this vintage unit in a back yard. Handsome lines with that stellar Wurlitzer grille. Well worth restoring to a roadworthy state. The fenders have plenty of dings, as though someone went nuts with a ball peen hammer. Hard life on the farm for 77 years.  I recall that a friend of yours has something similar and has restored his... a thing of beauty."

Vinyl-wrapped Nissan; Stonington, Maine.

On Saturday a friend mentioned the technique of vinyl-wrapping cars and trucks instead of painting. AL had never heard of the vinyl wrap but next day down in Stonington, Maine we caught this Nissan with a wrap job that looked pretty good.

Speaking of paint, it was an Edward Hopper kind of morning down in Stonington.

MGB, ready-to-rally

A peeled-down race car. Henry Behrens caught the car outside the Friend Memorial Library in Brooklin, Maine. We posted a 1974 MGB a while back. And several MGs of different types at club event, including an MG Magnette.

Maserati Sebring (1966?)

Scott Mathis caught the car in Blue Hill, Maine. Something about Italian design... see the Lancia Flamina 2.3 we posted a while ago...

Trucks with Brains

As an alumnus, we're relieved that Harvard's Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study has an intelligent truck. Yer basic Chevrolet Colorado,  the reasonably-sized General Motors pickup, sans braggadacio. We're always happy to acknowledge a truck that looks like a truck, not a chrome-crusted avatar of American masculinity-in-crisis.
