Nameless, Book #1

In good old Dean Koontz fashion, Nameless is a man we root for. Working to stop evil, Nameless is a man with amnesia driven by a mystery that keeps him seeking out those whose lives are in danger while exposing the villain. As always, I love the protective hero and the justice and mercy shown.A mini-novella that steadily builds the tension into a heart-stopping crescendo.

1997 (90s Flashback Series Book 2)

Two Words: Fun Flashback!I enjoyed this second book in the time-travel romance that kept me smiling between the present and 1997.If given the opportunity to take this youth compound, I wouldn't blink before saying yes, just as Anna does, which makes her story super fun and memorable.Being a 90's teen made me relish in the plot even more. Doc Martens, floral print knee-length dresses, Stone Temple Pilots, record stores, all the goodies of the 90's pop culture are here, and it made Anna's interaction with everyone relatable for me.Nostalgia entertainment big time here. A story like no other. Full of excitement over discovering the connection you have with someone who will changed your world--and you--forever. Full of interweaving timelines that bridge the past and present in ways unimaginable.Inventive, exploratative, and well worth the ride.

Unique & Relatable

Great idea for a story--go back to your high school days to help you reassess your current life. With a sort of Back-To-The-Future imprint, this story revels in the realistic underpinnings of marriage (in trouble) and digs into the past that brings Anna a better understanding of herself and the present. Anna's character is fun to read. She's real, raw, and intuitive, which makes the journey enjoyable all the way through. I had a lot of fun reading this one, exploring what it's like to just want to be loved, the joys of friendship then and now, and how Anna's life all came together.

HALLOWEEN--THE NOVEL

What a delightfully scary treat to discover that the 1978 film was made into a novel the following year!Lots of cool additions to this book:1. Added scenes2. Expanded dialogue3. A brief moment with Mrs. Meyers4. Michael Meyer's family history5. A chapter devoted to Michael's VP.Problems: Zig-zagging formatting and lots of mechanical errors.Still a great read with a captivating writing style that fully explains Michael Meyers's story. We also get more fleshed out characters, even with Annie and Linda. And Laurie has some surprising moves that you don't ever see in the film.Especially interesting is that Curtis Richards writes about things that don't even happen until the 6th installment, over 15 years later!A good novelization of the groundbreaking film that forever changed the horror genre.

Superb!

A wonderful mature romance full of realistic yet entertaining and wonderful characters and a plot line that is full of intrigue. Strangers Leela and Jay embark on a mission to clean out a mansion only to find that it is full of relevant secrets that will forever change their world and how they know each other. Griffith's writing style is quite likeable because it isn't flimsy or foolish but instead serves up a lovely story full of heart and promise with likeable characters that have you rooting for them all the way to the end. A delightful holiday read!

Hollywood & Ivy

This was a nice second chance romance with believable plot points and two endearing main characters. Each moment these two potential lovebirds are together creates tension and fun.I didn't care for the secondary characters, Hazel and Emerson. It would have been better to have Emerson, Ivy's best friend, in the story more, especially in a real life way rather than via video phone calls, since she helps Ivy through her feelings. And Hazel is too pushy and nosy, and I honestly didn't understand how she came to be in Ivy's life or why she should matter so much.I also would have better grasped and appreciated Ivy's past with Justin had we seen a flashback. Same for the past with her mother, as this plays a significant part. That said, the story is still entertaining and sweet and you root for both Ivy and Justin the whole time.

Her Best Match

I picked this one up because it's a highly rated book with many five star reviews and because the main character is older than most in these types of romances. However, what I wasn't prepare for was a very long-winded read. The story turned out to be a dry plot with boring on-the-nose dialogue and repetitive scenes with sudden clumsy movements by Anne, the main character, resulting in nothing funny or spectacular.Steven is the only endearing character in this book, and the only one who is relatable, which is a shame since we should be rooting for Anne. But with a middle-aged woman who gets angry at Steven for no good reason, who is insulted by him for no reason, and whose conversations are drier than the Sahara desert and as painful as bulging discs, I could not get through this one.

Simple Clean Fun

A nice simple story that treats its leading characters with loving care. Even when misunderstandings take place, Aaron and Macie don't become overly dramatic or contrived in their reactions, which makes for a nice easy-going read. This didn't feel much like a Christmas romance, however, so more holiday-themed ventures and settings would have been nice to go with the title and cover.Overall, a nice sweet story that takes two people with very different ideas of love and throws them together to bake a fun, clean budding romance.
