Guilty

Yet another exciting mystery suspense! This time, Hoh deals with PTSD, which is a rare feature of YA thrillers. She doesn't go so deep that readers might struggle to read the narrative, but enough that you feel even more for the main character. This is a wild ride with Kit and her group of friends. After Kit's boyfriend drowns on a river trip she takes with him, she can't stop feeling guilty for surviving. But things get a whole lot worse when someone starts stalking her and tries to kill her a few times. But her friends don't believe her. They think she just needs to get help for dealing with the trauma.Boy, they couldn't be more wrong. Because her very life IS at stake. And there's one friend she shouldn't trust. The guessing game hit me hard throughout. I had NO CLUE who it was. I never figured it out, and what a delightfully twisty surprise it was!

How To Kiss A Guy in Ten Days

Sweet young love.Delightful and coming of age love fun.I did have a problem with Hannah's older brother; he was way over the top "protective" to the point of creepy.Seth's voice sounded more like that of a female. For instance, he noticed a guy's build and said things that would suit a teen girl.Otherwise, the story was good. Hannah and Seth have some nice chemistry throughout.

Silent Night 3

Super happy Stine chose to go back to the style of the first book. He delivers the good old snarky Reva who still carries the same level of disrespect for people, because everybody, unless they are a cute guy or her dad, is a stupid waste of space. Unlike book #2, where we get primarily the bad guys' POVs, this one throws us back into the bratty head of Reva. It would seem unlikely that you would care about her, but actually she is so engaging you can't look away from the page. And what's better is that we also get to spend time with her cousin Pam again. Reva is always so mean to her. But this time, we get to see amazing character growth in Reva as well as an incredible development of Reva's relationship with her Pam. The suspense is awesome and heart pounding as always. Fun exciting story with a shocking, even for Stine, ending.

Silent Night 2

This sequel proves itself far scarier than the first. We get POVs from the villains here; in fact, a good chunk of the story is told from their viewpoint. Which makes us actually root for Reva more than we normally might. You see, Reva, the main character from the first book, who gets less page time in this one, is a rotten spoiled brat who treats everyone with disdain. But we wind up wanting to be with Reva, not the villains. The bad guys are so awful, it's truly frightening. The precarious situations are handled far more seriously, at an adult level in some respects in terms of the level of terror. This story deals quite heavily with a kidnapping situation and the three kidnappers cruelty in a pretty grave manner.Perhaps, that is why Stine chose to plunge back into Reva's POV to drive Book #3.So, this book is definitely a chiller, and Reva is delightfully snarky as always. I just wanted a lot more of her perspective.

STUDENT BODY

A good psychological suspense mystery with strange occurrences that leave you guessing after every chapter. The group of friends didn't mean to start a fire. They didn't mean to leave their friend behind to be burned. Our MC, Tory, can't stop feeling guilty that Hoop wound up in the hospital, severely burned and within inches of death, even though the fire was accidental.Who is stalking Tory, and why?The strange events Tory experiences resonate with the forest fire in eerie ways. Someone wants to hurt her, make her pay, and you'll find yourself looking over your shoulder, wishing you could feel the chill instead of the burn that haunts your waking hours. An intensely good read!

Short & Sweet❤️

I loved this sweet little story. No drama, just an endearing Maya who salivates over her favorite rock singer and a wonderful reveal of who's behind the mask of the rock star. A fun & adorable love story!

Interesting Premise

Pros: A love story that unfolds realistically. A MC you empathize with. A potential spouse you adore. An idyllic setting in frosty Idaho. Cons: Inconsistencies with Rachel's feelings toward parents. Unrealistic portrayal of parents--overly cruel and immature. Paulson springs details upon us after she's introduced an idea, leaving us a shade confused. Formatting and word choice are a bit rough. The story starts out thin and rambly with no real sense of direction. It gets a lot better when we get to Idaho where Rachel's character experiences a lot of growth and we get to see the wonderful person she is.

Wonderfully Fun Series!

Book #3 in this cozy mystery series, and Merrill still has me chortling and in suspense all the way through! If you haven't started this series, it's not too late! Sandra, the self-made sleuth, is back again, with Bob the invisible angel at her aid. Sandra is as witty and clever as ever, and this mystery will leave you gasping and laughing with each swing of the bat!The chemistry between Sandra and, well, everybody is always so full of entertainment, that you'll wish she was your pal. There's never a dull moment when she's around, for anyone!
