“She has nothing to do with this.” The woman shouted back.

“She has everything to do with this.” The man shouted, “She’s his daughter.”

“Are you crazy? You’ll be dead yourself in an hour.” The wife shot back. “As if her father isn’t bad enough, what do you think her husband will do?”

Weekend Writing Warriors #8SUNDAY

Hey everyone!  Hope you all had a good week friends.  Did you all order your shirts?  We’ve all got to meet up one day, that would be fun.  Maybe if I win the Powerball I’ll arrange it.  Haha, joking, I’m never going to win.

Anyhow, I’m sharing the final share of “In Too Deep” this week!!!

I’ll fill you in a little, everything is going surprisingly well with Antonio & Liliana, but there is this one little thing…(or very big thing) sorry to leave you on edge, but the book is on sale and I’ve been getting great feedback on book two, some are saying they enjoyed it more then “Liliana,”  read it and let me know what you think…

*****************************************************************************************

“Liliana, I agree that Antonio should tell you what is going on.” Elena said carefully, stopping and glancing at Antonio momentarily before continuing.

“The thing is,” Elena said as she paused, glancing over at Antonio who nodded at her reluctantly as if to give her approval.  “I think that it would be best to discuss everything with everyone in the family present.”

She stared at me as if she was examining my expression. I sighed in frustration, feeling that I would never find out.

“If we can wait till tonight, I’ll make sure that he tells you everything,” Elena said slowly. “We all will.”

Weekend Writing Warrior post #8sunday

I’m traveling this week, well just a few short miles from home.  Believe it or not I’m writing this from a phone.  I lost a lot of the punctuation and I think my links aren’t working, but I will fix those tomorrow morning as soon as I get home.

Technology is unbelievable.  In Chicago land we are preparing for a snowstorm.   Hopefully it’s not too bad.

Last week we left with Liliana in labor, next we’ll jump ahead I promise.   For now, let’s stop in and see what’s happening.

“It’s a boy!” The doctor said.

Everyone cheered in excitement, but I felt no joy. I felt like a creature was lying between my legs and couldn’t wait for them to move it. Elena wiped sweat from my forehead as she stood over me smiling. Antonio obstructed my view of her, putting his hideous face over me to get my attention.

”Don’t you want to see your baby?”Antonio asked.

Weekend Writing Warriors Post #8SUNDAY-Love sharing pieces of my story with you

Hello again friends.  I don’t have anything really interesting to talk about this week other than the fact that I painted my bathroom door this week—-oh and I joined Weight Watchers.  We’ll see how that works, yesterday was a going away party for a friend at work and we had deep dish pizza and cake-I’m saying we because I had it too!  I know!  So disappointed with myself.  Going to also try this Dr. Oz swimsuit slim down thing that my good friend Tamara showed me.  Got to run to Aldi’s in a little bit and buy the Apple Cider Vinegar and juice.

Anyway, enough about me.  Let’s get further into “In Too Deep,” the second book in the Liliana Series.  I’m jumping ahead a bit here and sharing this part with you.  I’m not sure why I chose this part, maybe because so many people I know have had babies in the last month, anyhow I hope that you enjoy it.

************************************************************************************

The contractions were increasing in intensity and I felt like there was no break in between each one. I lay moaning in the bed, wishing that this was a dream.  I hoped to God that this wasn’t real, but I realized that it was very real, the people standing around my bed reminded me of that. Soon the doctor instructed me to push in a certain direction, as he pressed down hard against me as if to direct me.  I didn’t realize that I had already been pushing and suddenly felt like my insides were about to burst, sweat dripping from my forehead as I lay back in defeat. The nurses in the room came over and held onto my feet already positioned in metal brackets.  How much worse could this get I wondered as my legs began to tremble uncontrollably.

“Push,” the doctor said again and again.

Weekend Writing Warriors, read this weeks snippet. #8SUNDAY

Hello friends.  I’m so excited to read what everyone wrote this weekend.  I’m such a nerd, but you make my weekends.  :)  I love spending my Saturday nights preparing my posts (seriously)  Today was a long day and the weather is warm in Chicago-land-> meaning above freezing.  We are currently above 38, which is exciting in January.  Spring is almost here!  Can you imagine the imaginary back-flips that I have been doing?

Oh really quick, check this out:

It’s a paper copy of my column.  So exciting!!!  You can check any of my future columns out in Reflejos Newspaper and they “up’d” me from bi-weekly to weekly.  Yay,  Here’s the link.

Now let’s get down to business and see what’s going on in this scene that I’ve been sharing with you, I think I’m going to skip ahead next week to get you more of the story.

*****************************************************************************************

“You heard me Lilly.” Antonio said, “I think it’s best if you go, before you create any more embarrassment for my family.”

“Embarrassment?” I asked.

Antonio wasn’t listening. Instead he was going through the bag and pulling out clothes that I instantly recognized as the clothes that I had left my fathers house with before we were married. My bottom lip began to quiver.  He threw me my old house robe, but I didn’t reach out to catch in time and it and it landed at my feet.

“The Magic Poof” by Stephen Hodges-Review-@Mondayblogs #MONDAYBLOGS

Good day everyone, I’m Neva Squires-Rodriguez the author of “The Liliana Series,” a Contemporary Romantic Suspense series that can be found here and a new columnist to Reflejos Newspaper in Chicago-land.  This week I am delighted to review and share with you “The Magic Poof” by Stephen Hodges.

poof1

First let me tell you, I was hesitant to review this book based on the fact that it was about a poof of a seven-year old girls hair, but then I read it and was so glad that I chose to review it because the storyline is actually really cute.  It totally reminded me of my God-daughters hair when she was little, because given the fact that she is half African-American, her mother and grandmother didn’t know what to do with her hair.  If this book was out when my God-Daughter was little, I’m sure she it would have boosted her confidence, plus there are many imaginative adventures that happen all because of Ange-Marie, the protagonists hair.  She tells it to take form and her hair listens.  The whole idea is simply too cute!  In fact, I can totally see this story being made into a series for PBS, Nickelodeon or Disney.  It kind of reminds me of “The Magic School Bus,” a series that I enjoy watching with my children.

The author Stephen Hodges, is actually doing a “kickstarter” here, in hopes that it will become a series.  Wishing him the best of luck on this fun story!

Please check the “The Magic Poof” out, it’s a great children’s book, I would say age range 3-10 and I’m giving it a five-star rating!

Weekend Writing Warriors #8SUNDAY Post

Well my friends.  It’s that time again.  I’m posting my Weekend Writing Warriors Post a little early.  I have to work tonight at the 911-call center and it has been bu-sy.  It’s freezing in Chicagoland and people forget the road is slippery, causing a lot of accidents, not to mention other things that occur from people being stuck in the house.  Wish me luck tonight, I’m still in training and it’s a bit difficult sometimes.

So anyhow, this week I’m keeping you all in the mix, Antonio has just come back to Colombia from Venezuela.  He’s been gone for about three months.  Antonio returns based on the fact that Blanca (his mother) indicated a possible affair that she walked in on between Liliana and Freddy, who no one believes is gay-but is.  Liliana tries to explain herself, but realizes how badly everything looks.  Freddy was actually there helping her plan Antonio’s birthday party, but it doesn’t look like it’s going so well, let’s tune in and see how things are going…

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

“I haven’t even seen you in three months and you start this mess,” I said angrily to Blanca. “Why don’t you stay out of our relationship?”

“That’s right it has been three months Antonio.  Doesn’t it seem longer?” Blanca responded, while staring at my stomach.  “When was the last time you were with her intimately, Antonio?”

“Three months ago.”  Antonio replied quietly, staring at my swimming suit, that revealed my very pregnant stomach.

Weekend Warriors Post #8SUNDAY-Find out who we are and what we do here: http://www.wewriwa.com/

InTooDeepCVRARe

Hey friends.  The temperature is dropping once again in Chicago-land and it’s said that we will wake up to horrible weather.  Good thing I will be warm and snug under a cover reading all of your posts in the morning.   I’m going to turn the heat up and go into hibernation mode in just a moment.  Wanted to get this post ready before I go MIA.  ;)

Well as for this weeks post, I’ve skipped a paragraph or so before starting in, as I want to bring you as much of this story as possible.  For those that don’t know, this is the second book in The Liliana Series.  The first book is great, but I’d have to say I like this one better because it’s extra twisted & you know I love twisted.  Here’s your eight:

******************************************************************************************************

“Antonio, Freddie’s gay.” I said.

“He’s gay?” Blanca said to herself, laughing.

“Antonio that man was not gay!” She turned to him and said convincingly. “He ran out of here as soon as I got here.”

My mouth dropped as I turned to stare at her, suddenly realizing how bad the incident must have appeared.
