I spent my summers as a kid on the New Jersey shore. One day while walking around town, I found a cove and thought it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. A cove is formed when softer rocks are worn away by the sun and salty water faster than the harder rocks surrounding them. This creates a gorgeous bay of turquoise water shielded by large rocks in the distance and smaller rocks near the water’s edge. It is amazingly beautiful. In the series Cozzi Cove is a grouping of bungalows set off on a cove on the New Jersey shore. Cal Cozzi’s grandfather built the bungalows, and Cal’s father rented them to men who shared his son’s gay sexual orientation. Cal, continues that tradition opening the bungalows as a gay resort each summer. Cal, short for Calvin, is thirty years old, tall, and muscular. His Italian and Scottish heritage left him with striking auburn hair and a strong nose. He is honored to follow in his father’s footsteps.
Cal is married to Lance who is twenty-four, short, stocky, African American with dark hair and dark eyes and amazing dimples. As a second grade teacher, Lance is off during the summers, his favorite time of year. This leaves him more time to do what he loves most: being with Cal.
Connor, the college student assisting Cal in running Cozzi Cove, is packed with ginger hair, freckles, huge muscles, and raging hormones. Each resident at Cozzi Cove is a potential new conquest for Connor.
The other regular characters are Tommy, the bald, muscular, tattooed local bar owner who has held a torch for Cal since high school. Carla Mangione, a New Age enthusiast, runs Carla’s Seafood Restaurant and holds a similar torch for Cal’s sister.
Cal’s hysterically funny top-one-percenter sister, Taylor, drops in from Rome, Paris, Wall Street, or Palm Springs at the most unlikely occasions.
