Ken Ham exploits Nepal earthquake to push young earth creationism
Ken Ham has reached an all new pathetic low.In a new blog post posted stating that he is saddened by the earthquake in Nepal he jumps straight to a story from the New York Times that reads, “Ancient Collision Made Nepal Earthquake Inevitable,” the author continues, “More than 25 million years ago, India, once a separate island on a quickly sliding piece of the Earth’s crust, crashed into Asia. The two land masses are still colliding, pushed together at a speed of 1.5 to 2 inches a year. The f...

Rand Pauls claims first amendment ‘doesn’t say keep religion out of government’
Rand Paul is a theocrat. I don't believe there has been much secret about this. His father was a theocrat and he seems destined to follow in his footsteps.Paul however does not seem to have a firm grasp of the constitution, as someone running for president probably should. He is under the impression that the first amendment of the US Constitution is only a one-way street telling a small audience at a prayer breakfast:

Why I don’t believe Toya Graham is Mother of the Year
A recent video from Baltimore has gone viral. The video shows Toya Graham hitting her teenage son, allegedly for throwing rocks at the police. Her act of aggression has her lauded as "the world's best mom." Most of the comments I have seen on the video, from various websites, praise her disciplinary tactics, most of which revolve around the theme "we need more parents to do this."

Systematic racism runs deep in Baltimore but the media only cares about the violence
It is still unclear what exactly led to the mysterious death of Freddie Gray while he was in Baltimore police custody. Gray was arrested on April 12th and died in custody a week later on April 19th. One could speculate as to what happened, but it seems to me that the best possible explanation the PD could have is that Freddie Gray died as a result of the PD’s negligence while he was in their custody, which is still rather damning. There are so many unanswered questions about the circumstances...

Louisiana is using taxpayer money to teach creationism in the classroom
Thanks to Republican led education reform throughout many southern states, creationism is finding its way into countless public schools and even private schools that have been granted access to taxpayer funds via school voucher programs.States like Texas have a long history of editing textbooks to raise questions about the validity of evolution and have attempted to broker many back-alley deals and applying pressure to publishers in order solidify such changes.
