I am thrilled to announce the release of the fifth book in my American Wilderness Series FRONTIER GIFT OF LOVE. Although each book in the series can be read independently, readers of the first four books will be delighted to learn that while the book focuses on Captain Sam and Catherine, all of the Wyllie family members come together for a Christmas reunion. Frontier Highlander Vow of Love by Dorothy Wiley is a story of finding love in the most unexpected place and time. Artis MacKay's life was destroyed along with her village in Scotland. Patrick Steller, the Countess of Sutherland's estate manager, burnt her village and killed her parents. She was forced to live as a servant in Virginia in a slave plantation. Her life had no relief and freedom was far out of reach. She was granted freedom and a piece of land in Kentucky after seven hard years. She expected her life to be free and uneventful. She wasn't expecting love. But love did come.
Bear MacKee once lived in the beautiful Highlands. But his parents were killed by a horrible disease on the journey to the colonies, and he was left alone in the world. When he was adopted by the Wyllies family, he found hope again. After watching his adopted family find love, he is ready to settle down and have a partner who will understand him. He finds all that and more with Artis. But the foes of the past and some new enemies are hell bent on destroying their lives. Can Bear and Artis keep their love alive, or will they fall prey to the evil their enemies invoke?
The Frontier Highlander Vow of Love by Dorothy Wiley was an interesting novel. Although I had not read the other three novels in the series, I had no difficulty in understanding Bear's relationship with his adopted family. Bear is a well developed character and a brother that we all wish to have. Artis and her devastated life was very emotional and felt like a true story, so kudos to Dorothy Wiley for managing that. The story will touch your heart and reach out to people whose lives have suffered significant setbacks such as those experienced by Artis--the Highland clearances and indentured servitude. Awesomely written and the well formed sentences made it perfect.
