B is for Beautiful

I woke up one morning, and boy oh boy! I didn’t have one grey hair, nor two… I had a silver river flowing along the side of my head. ON top of that, my alter ego – Fatty in the Mirror – ate the entire stock of chocolate and cakes, and thus I am left with the orange peels and the cottage cheese. YUCK.

It is hard to pin-point what beauty is, because… well, it is in the eye of the beholder. So I ask myself… but what if the beholder is blind?
The little voice [the one ignoring Fatty in the Mirror!] answers:

“Even the blind man can see the beauty as it rides upon the sound of a voice, edge itself between the lines on his fingerprints to be spread upon the smooth snippets of life he touches.

Beauty is not just in the eye of the beholder,” the voice tells me, “it is in the smell of the world at dawn, when the sound of birds cracks the sky open like a fertile egg.

It is in the imagination of the soul, tattoo’d in colours of laughter where the lines are blurred but the picture is vivid.

It is in the superiority of a kind thought leading to a magical deed that change the outcome of a nightmare to be filled with flirtatious rainbows telling a story of hope, love, joy…

Beauty is not in the eye of the beholder…” the voice insists, “Beauty, is beholding the eyes of the seeker.”

And so, I point my finger at Fatty in the Mirror, and chuckle at her as she strikes a pose, yet again.

I do not feel very beautiful, and yet… The look in his eyes when he walks through the door every night, is still the same it was 20 years ago. I guess some people may just like their cottage cheese and orange peels a little more than others.

His eyes are beholden, when he seeks out my beauty.

Inspiration

Tricky little word this is… but here’s my thoughts on it.

Inspiration does not come from outside… it comes from within, it comes from yourself first.
“WOAH MADAM, WHAT ARE YOU SAYING!” – I hear ya, but hear me out.

All the beautiful art, will not be art, if the artist didn’t have inspiration within.
All the gorgeous sunsets and sunrises would be just another event, if the onlooker did not have inspiration within.
All the music in the world, poetry, writing… nature, God, children, births, deaths… It will all simply be just another ‘event’ happening without one iota of attention paid to it, because…. I wasn’t inspired to see the inspiration first.

I have to look into the space inside my head, my heart and soul, my entire being, to organise it in such a way to take onboard the fuel that will keep me inspired. THAT fuel, is the music, the poetry, the art, the blooming flowers… But the inspiration to to make that space in the first place: Nobody can help me with that. I craved inspiration and looked for it just about everywhere – bad habits and terrible choices included. Then one day, I stopped and thought:
My mind knows I need it.
My heart wants it.
My soul miss it….
So I connected the three and let them sort that stuff out among themselves – to find, slowly but surely, the inspiration was growing. Art looked different. Words sounded different. Music became far more interesting and diverse…
Why IS that?
Because I allowed the inspiration to to grow within, and took from the world the fuel to nurture it, to guide it, to give it joy and expression. I took the motivation to KEEP working on my inspiration, I leaned on my friends and family for support when the burden of growing my own inspiration became heavy and frankly, bloody hard work….
Now? Now I SEE inspiration in others, I try to FUEL them with the fruits from my internal trees, I try to SUPPORT others who are downtrodden under the hectic storms threatening to remove their inspiration.

So… call it what you like – or call it inspiration… but for me? It starts within. It starts with a second glance. It starts with a new attitude. It starts with a drop of water from a river painted in blood, sweat and tears.

Just don’t forget – once you have cultivated your inspiration… share the fuel that will help keep another’s alive, the same way yours is kept alive by those who share theirs.

"Say my Name" - By Adri Sinclair

"Say my Name" - Cover Reveal and write-up!
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Adri-S...

She is a petite girl - looking like Betty Boob - if all things are to be believed. Silent, mostly withdrawn, and looking for a new job as a Demolition Expert. She does not like to be touched, for a very good reason. She fights in a pub called "Devil's Tears Inn" for more than just her life.
Her name? Billy Carter,

He is her boss' brother. A big, bulk of a man who loves blowing things up. He has a little black book full of names - names of girls he use, to avoid his own feelings. He is a serious man who likes to carry his own weight.
His name? Bastian Goldwen.

Straight foward right? Maybe not.

Bastian and Billy belong together, that much is clear - but what about Asmodai? The Demon Prince of Lust who's hankered after Billy from the day she was born? What is the story behind the three-headed dog - Cerberus - and his Mother?

This is a novella, tied in to the Second Breath Series, but a stand-alone read. It has all the elements of Paranormal, Fantasy Romance - without the heat but perhaps a few roller-coaster rides.
Expect the unexpected with this one - and treasure the expected, because the journey is nothing short of a fairytale.

Sex: No.
Expletives: Indicated with squiggles and suggested.
Humour: Plenty.
Drama: Some.
Fantasy: Absolutely.
