The Legend of Armonia!

Picture In the first age the Ones, representatives from multiple races, banned together and traveled from their separate worlds using powers long forgotten to form a new utopia.  These self appointed beings with superior intelligence and accomplishment left behind the disharmony of wars and conflict, inevitable in the daily life of their former worlds.  They became known as the Ones, godlike creatures who would work together to make the perfect world. This new world was named ARMONIA, meaning Harmony in an ancient language.

The keepers were charged with recording that perfect union. The recordings would be used as a reminder and preserved for posterity.  Eventually representatives could return to the worlds left behind, that others would benefit from their knowledge. Over time, long past the second age, the records to date were stored in secret places throughout Armonia.  Its only a guess, but since these records were so meticulously hidden instead of made public, it stands to reason that something may have gone wrong and the harmony of Armonia proved a difficult concept.

In this the fourth age, I discovered my first set of tomes, and called them Argumentum 1. It was evident that these were written a mere 4 millennia past and concerned the activities of a period near the end of the third age. One single book contained a summarized version of the history I disclose for you now.  It also revealed to me that there are other places of storage, but their location is not yet discovered. The keepers had a system of recording and retention that did not include sharing their works. Naught but with one other keeper, referenced in their own writings, and even so, they only shared hints.  Thus the locations are mostly a mystery. Someday, if luck seeks me out or my ancestors are interested and someone discovers the location of the remaining tomes, I will share this utopia as was the original intention.

This current tale includes reference to the Ones only as they are known to me in Argumentum 1.  The work itself one might call historical fiction, based on facts laid down by the keepers.  Irregardless the result of this utopian experiment insignificants would get neither credit or blame in recorded history. It is they that  always seek peace.  It is more likely that the Ones brought their own chaos, in spite of their intentions.

Next Up in a short story....

Picture Gloin is the single most colorful character in the World of Armonia.   Prideful, stubborn, extremely strong and aware of his place in the universe, he is like most dwarves, but he also has a past of heroic deeds and an ancient bloodline that should have made him clan chief.  Because of an error in judgment annuls ago, he is alone and somewhat forlorn, .  A new friend and colorful gnome wizard has some insight on his problem but is reluctant to speak of it until the right time.

Go back in time to the event that causes the downfall of Gloin Bluntforge and find out the dismay and the reality, which is not what it seems.

Why do I call it the "Insignificant" Series

Picture Well honestly it all started because every time I read a high-fantasy book it's loaded with heroes.  Even Bilbo Baggins was a hero.  Oh yeah he started out a nothing but before the story ends...well!!   So it seems to me every time a wizard waves his wand or a gang of Orcs storms a village, everyone dies!  Guess that's normal in Fantasy.  In some stories thousands of people die and the reader is never even told their names.   So I thought why not write about those people!   So I started with Odie, a simple innkeeper and the first "short story" was about him.  But you can't have a story about just one insignificant, can you?   So by the end of 44 pages I introduced an entire town full.  Well, then my daughter said emphatically, "Dad, I'm an ordinary person and I don't consider myself insignificant!"   So anyway the more I write about these people the more she is correct and in fact most will eventually become heroes in their own right.  However, I tray to give most characters names and personalities, even if their role is small.   The series was already named...so that's it!
