I usually pace around the house for a good while, just thinking through story direction and dialogue flow. It doesn't always help immediately, but it's great for getting away from a blank screen and letting my mind work.

Sometimes I simply step away from the project and stop thinking about it for a day or so. Occasionally my problem is that I am thinking of something too much, and I've got to let my mind take a break. (less)
