Well, this is sort of cool, it appears, that my editor Emily has finished editing my first novel. She had a bunch of feedback as well as a bunch of edits. She was mostly doing a proof read, and not a content edit, but that’s what I wanted. The review she sent back was pretty good I think. It wasn’t too long, but definitely pointed out few issues with the novel. I only skimmed it late last night, so I’ll have to give it a proper read this morning. I’ll have to give some thought to how many...

OK, so a little bit slow to the punch here this morning. Just a little tired this morning … that’s two mornings in a row, with less then six hours sleep. Not really a good idea, but I still seem to manage getting through the day. I sure, it’s a result of eating so good these days. Still don’t seem to be losing any weight, but I definitely feel pretty good. Maybe this summer, I’ll get up on the paddle board more often, and get myself into some better shape that way. I don’t think it’s goin...

Only five more days, and I get hit 200 days in a row, which of course, means another badge here on 750words.com. Not sure, which is more significant though the badge or the accomplishment. It’s pretty easy to do these words, but lately the journals seem harder to get started on. It’s like, I’m running out of meaningful things to say, but maybe I’m just over thinking the whole thing. Maybe I’ll just get back to the basics of what the whole thing is about. Yesterday, I did something new for...

Woah, I always sleep so much at the boat. I did wake up around 6:30, and made a mad dash to the washroom, but sam was still asleep (it’s just the two of us up here), and I thought I’d lay back down for a few minutes. Next time I look at my watch, it’s 9:44 … woah big sleep in. Ah well, I suppose that’s only fair, that I get to sleep in extra since it is fathers day. Fathers day number 20 for me, thanks to Jenifer. Maybe it was because we had the heater cranked up so high, and it was warm...

I am certainly running out of things to say in here it seems. Well, we’ll have to make things up as we go along. I do like the idea of writing some short stories in here. Maybe you should do some erotica stuff. That might be kind of fun … and wierd, but why the hell not. Those are definitely short money little money makers. You could crank out a couple of thousand words per day in this style, and then make a few extra bucks. You could still do the really serious stuff outside of here, but...

Write for love. Of all the platitudes and motivational phrases and thoughts that have crossed my mind over the last few months, I believe, that’s the one that matters the most. The most meaningful, and the only one that will really work for me. Don’t write for money, don’t write from fear, don’t write to be cool, don’t write because you think people will like you more as a writer. Don’t write for any other reason then love … the actual love of writing. If you write simply for the love of...

So, still no outline to work from this morning, but I just noticed, that I am only 9 days from hitting 200 straight days of morning journals. I did read through the next few scenes I had written up for after the gang arriving at Fort Knox, but hadn’t looked at in a while. I had decided to end the first story at Fort Knox a while ago, and hadn’t looked at those scenes in a while, and they’re suprisingly not that bad. They certainly need some rewriting, but nothing too bad. Plus, there are...

Again, here’s another morning where I don’t have a whole lot I want to say to my morning journal, that hasn’t already been said before. Other than this … you need to start writing more, and today, the number one goal, is to outline some more scenes either for my current novel, or a new one, and start writing those scenes in my morning journal … period. That’s it. Starting tomorrow, your going to start a new habit, and enforce it for 30 days minimum – and that habit is to write a new scene...

So, time to be practical, and get some real work done for the next little while, since your novel is off to the editors, and there’s not really much you can do with it at the moment. Although, you could write more for it. What you really want to do, is get a cover together and a blurb, and the admin stuff done. Went, and played squash last night, which probably wasn’t the best idea for my body, which is kind of sore this morning. At least my ankle is, and so is of course my shoulder. Ther...

Well, today is kind of a big deal. It’s the day, I’m supposed to hand over my manuscript to Emily for editing. I’m not nearly as far along with it as I had hoped, given, that I didn’t polish it up and add as many extra words as I had hoped, but none the less, perhaps it’s just time to hand it over. Editing can become an endless loop sort of exercise, so it’s likely, that it’s just as well you give it up now. The last week and a half, I’ve been somewhat distracted with this whole30 food pr...
