Arrgh, got myself in a bit of a conflict here. Devan told me Tuesday night, that he couldn’t play league Thursday, and I forgot until this (Thursday) morning to try and get James to play. I only forgot, because he didn’t email me, he just mentioned it to me down at the courts, and my feeble old mind seemed to forget about it completely. Darn. Anyways, here’s to hoping maybe Devan can still make it. It was only his girl friend, that was giving him grief about playing or something. I’ll hav...

Well, another late start to the day, and another day yesterday, with not writing, but a bit of a new revelation with the direction I need to go. After reading Jim Butchers journal on scenes and sequels writing, it got me to thinking overall about where I’m going with my novel. And, it occurs to me at the moment, that I’m stuck in a bit of a too much detailed approach. I’m just down writing in the trenches, and not giving enough thought to where I want the story to go. I’m not really think...

Arghhh, another late start to the day, and I need to get back on the writing horse again. [personal stuff edited out]What the hell. Can these people never leave me alone for 5 fucking work days in a row ever!!!. God damn, it’s so frigging annoying having people around all the time, when I’m wallowing in writing agony, trying to get this first frigging novel out the door, and dealing with self doubt, and basically not knowing what the fuck I’m doing, and always at me for something. Even Je...

Good day yesterday, what with winning my squash challenge match yesterday, that bumps me back up to 2nd on the team. I think, I should do a bit more reading today about how to write stuff. That would be the selling writer book, since I haven’t finished reading it yet the first time. I think, I need to read this thing at least 3 times. Reading anything else is probably just extraneous fluff and distracting. I’m going to go back to my original thinking, that if I can write every novel follo...

Well, here’s a first, I’m trying to to write my morning journal in the evening, while the tv is playing in the same room. This should be just a little bit distracting, but we’ll see how it goes. Yesterday, wasn’t a great day in terms of word production, but I did do a bunch of writing and watching some stuff from Jim Butcher. He’s the guy responsible for the dresden files novels, and apparently was taught by someone who believed in the same stuff that was writtein by Dwight V. Swain the a...

Ooops, looks like the team lost a close match last night to another GoodLife team. Kyles team beat us 3-2, but it came down to the 5th game in the 5th match that went to 13-11. David lost to Kyle. Pretty good match overall. I lost to Mark Williams. That boy is just too tricky for me. I’m sure, if I was 10 pounds lighter, it would have been a different story. One of these years, I will beat that guy. Anyways, yesterday was a pretty good writing day. I got over 3000 words done, which is my...

If your going to be a fucking writer, then you need to fucking write. Just write write write. Write good stuff, write crappy stuff, just say the fuck with everything else around me and put in the time . . . do the writing. You know you can write fast, you know, even when you write fast, that the shit isn’t bad, and just imagine how good it will be in the hands of a decent editor, once you can afford one. After screwing around yesterday, and not actually sitting down to write until like 11...

I think, the priority for this week, has to be upping my word count. There shouldn’t be much to distract me from doing that, and even today with Karen hanging around, she’ll be totally distracted by the olympics, and right now, she’s out taking the car to get the radio fixed. So, I seem to have my space at least temporarily. The other good thing about today, is that, I don’t feel stressed from the weekend. I don’t know what it is about Mondays, but for the last few, I’ve felt totally stre...

Well, today is Sunday and nothing too much going on around here today, but here’s to hoping I can get a little bit of writing done. It would help. Played a challenge match against Mark Darling yestarday, for the #2 spot on the team and he managed to come back on me a couple of times to win wasn’t too happy about that. I won the first 2 games, then I was up 8 to 5 in the fifth game, and he still managed to win it. That’s not good. Gotta do something about that for sure. I’m currently still...

Thank goodness Samantha decided she was too sick to go to swim practice at 5am this morning. Given, that I was up till 3:15 am last night finishing off “The Last Of Us” game on the PS3. Certainly a compelling and intriguing game. Best story telling in a game I’ve ever seen. The writing, voice acting, and character development were all top notch, and the ending was superb. Except for the technical glitch in the playing of the cut scene where my PS3 seemed to lock up. I suspect there was so...
