Attn: Writers

For those of you who are writers and are around or within close proximity of Indianapolis, I would strongly urge you to attend Gencon (August 13-16th) this year.  Even if gaming isn't your thing, i highly recommend coming for the panels that are part of the Writer's Symposium there.  I don't just say that because I'm on them.  Here's some of the people who are speaking on a variety of subjects from within a host of subjects:  game writing, urban fantasy, paranormal romance, traditional fantasy..

Buzzzzzzzzzzzzzvrooooom!

I should be contemplating dropping a third of book three and fixing those chapters.

Instead, I am using my new mitre saw to chop up leftovers... no, not of my wife, but from doing the upstairs floor.

If I suddenly start typing with letters only from one side of the keyboard it means I've cut off one of my hands. I hope it's not my left one.. I use that for everything!

We (re)make our own fun

When I heard there maybe an upcoming Joss-less Buffy movie, my first thought was oh dear god no...

my second thought is that we don't really need a new iteration of that produced by Hollywood. What we need is a Simon Canderous movie, dammit!

Please let all your Hollywood producer friend know...kthxbai!

Flight o' the Conchords

This reminds me of a Police song, but it came to my head because another member of the League (Jaye!) was talking about "Sugar Lumps" but THIS got in my head instead.

Some thoughts in no particular order

I think the next X-Men:Origins project should be X-Men:  Origins: Lockheed.
Or maybe X-Men:  Origins:  Mojo.

I also think that someone with more cartooning skill than me should draw up Decker giving the Voight-Kampff test to a Terminator.

Also, they should design a badge logo for the Department of Extraordinary Affairs.  Hmmm... contest idea, perhaps?

Also, please not I am NOT JEALOUS AT ALL that [info:] jimhines has miniatures based on his Jig the Goblin books.... of course the lead or pewter alone to make

Had to share

It's always warms my writerly heart to hear positive things about the books I write, but it means a little something special when it's someone I'm a fan of saying it.

"Simon Canderous is the kind of guy who can do magical things with his hands…literally. With only his wry sarcasm, self-deprecating humor and preternatural 'talent' for Psychometry to keep him out of trouble, Simon navigates the supernatural underbelly of New York City with a style and panache worthy of a thousand sequels."
