something is in the works…
I’m so excited to announce my latest project–a minor holiday flash fiction anthology in the A Very Bookish series! A Very Bookish Celebration is coming soon! I’ll have more details on my stories and a full list of the authors soon. 😉 But for now, I can say after reading through all the stories that...Continue reading »

monday mini-review #3: Hours We Regret by Chelsea Michelle
⭐⭐⭐⭐ This was a delightful, one-sitting, hold-your-breath kind of read. I highly enjoyed the sisters’ dynamic and different POVs. Also, I have strong shipping opinions. 😉 I was a little disappointed by how open-ended it was, so I’m hoping there will be a payoff in later books. It didn’t go as dark as it could...Continue reading »

5 reasons you’ll love my books (+ a bonus 6th)
I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what makes my books unique in a sea of other indie works. 😉 Here are my reasons you might love my books in particular… 1. You love faith content… All my works, big and small, have some measure of faith content. Whether that’s just a Christian worldview or...Continue reading »

you must read the delightfulness that is The Red House Mystery
The creator of such beloved storybook characters for children as Winnie-the-Pooh, Piglet, and Eeyore, A. A. Milne was also the author of numerous dramas, essays, and novels for adults — among them, this droll and finely crafted whodunit. In it, Milne takes readers to the Red House, a comfortable residence in the placid English countryside...Continue reading »

we’re (over) halfway there!
I just broke 28,000 words on draft one of “Project Elia”! To celebrate, here’s y’all’s first *long* excerpt from the story. 😉 I can’t wait for you to meet these book babies of mine! Reminder, this is a rough, rough first draft. 😉 “Williams, Elia.” I let out a sigh of relief and rose from...Continue reading »

cake-flavored book tag!
I found this tag on Ash’s blog Ink and Ash and it was originally brought over from Instagram with questions added by C.G. Drews’s on her blog Paper Fury. Time to make you all hungry with these questions. 😍😍 Chocolate: a dark book you loved I don’t often read dark books, but Heartless by Anne...Continue reading »

just 400 words
“Project Elia” was supposed to be completely drafted by now. But the story wasn’t cooperating, the pressure was too great, and I didn’t write as much during the holidays as I’d planned to. So I decided to give myself another three months on the remaining 31,000 of my 48,000 word goal. It sounds like a...Continue reading »

monday mini-review #2: Just Her Luck by M.J. Padgett
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ From the adorable, original cover inward, this novella charmed me with its heart and real and respectful characters. There were APOLOGIESSSS for the past and the reasons they’d become enemies. There was an adorable Christmas tree decorating scene! And sleeping on the couch together. ❤ And meaningful Christmas gifts. And the “epilogue”. *cries in...Continue reading »

5 simply gorgeous illustrated books
There’s just something about illustrations. They bring the story closer, show us what the characters look like, and add that touch many of us have been missing since we graduated past picture books. I’m always happy when I find another illustrated chapter book, and today I thought I’d share my favorites with you. ❤ 1....Continue reading »

a favorite author
I recently finished (and adored!!) The Only Girl in Town by Ally Condie. It was mysterious, full of heart, with deeper than deep themes. I’ll share my review later, but for now I want to know, have you read anything by Ally Condie?
