the get ready with characters tag – Morgan edition

Thanks so much to Katja @ Little Blossoms for Jesus for creating this unique tag! (If you pick up this tag, be sure to link back to her.) Let’s get started! 😉 1. First off, introduce your character(s) to us! Then tell us how you relate to them. The character I’ll be introducing today is Morgan...Continue reading »

I’m back again with mini-reviews of the Ncuti Gatwa era! 😉 (If you missed last week’s post, you can check it out here.) Reminder: all these episodes are available on Disney+. S1:E3: Boom ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Oh, ho ho! This episode is what Doctor Who is all about! This is the episode that cemented Ncuti Gatwa as...Continue reading »

my new project is so cute!

My latest project (book one in a planned series) is nicknamed “Project Serenity: Morgan”, and it’s all about flowers and DIYs and second chances and flea markets and antiques and a cute farm and the beach. ❤ Check out this aesthetic and my Pinterest board. 😉 And I get to watch DIYs for “research” which...Continue reading »

my mini-reviews of current Doctor Who episodes 0-2

I won’t be covering the anniversary specials in detail, just everything (so far!) from the Ncuti Gatwa era. 😉 (All these episodes are available to watch on Disney+.) Anniversary special #3 ends with the first appearance of the Fifteenth Doctor as played by Ncuti Gatwa. He’s brilliant, clever, gentle, and dynamic all in just a...Continue reading »

Summer isn’t technically here for another three weeks, but if I have to live with these temperatures, I’m counting the start of June. 😉 And with summer (fortunately) comes summer reading!! Here’s my list of four books I hope to read in the next few months… Better than the Movies by Lynn Painter (it looks...Continue reading »

my bookshelf tour (2024 edition)

It’s chaotic and lower quality than I wanted (I ran into tech issues), but it’s here–my bookshelf tour! I kept the videos short and sweet, so here’s a part two as well. 😉 Feel free to comment here or on my channel! (And good luck if you find my old videos, lol) 😉

i unpacked *most* of our books

With the help of a new little bookshelf for J’s collection of old books, I unpacked and organized our books with more brought in from the storage closet. This time instead of separating age groups, I alphabetized all the fiction, then grouped miscellaneous and nonfiction in its own section. I’m super happy with how it...Continue reading »

Kate’s writing and Kiki’s Delivery Service

“Flying is my only skill.” These words stood out to me when I watched Kiki’s Delivery Service for the first time last night. I feel this way about my writing sometimes. Sure I have other jobs and hobbies and “jobbies” I’m good at, but the main skill and the one I feel most called to...Continue reading »

my favorite fiction with Jewish characters

It’s frustrating to look for Jewish fiction. The options are either Old Testament retellings, Holocaust stories often centering non-Jews instead, or cynical contemporary stories with themes I don’t prefer. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve enjoyed many WWII books, but until recently it’s felt like Jewish fiction has been all about struggle, struggle, struggle. In honor...Continue reading »
